terrible service! after coming back for a smog retest he plugged his scanner in my car with the ignition running causing my check engine light to come on! thank god my mechanic at excelsior auto re cleared my codes and sent me on my way! now i have to wait for all my sensors to clear! this place is terrible how can you be a certified smog technician and not know how to properly use a code scanner!!! after looking up the code u0155 that’s exactly what happened. terrible service

i recommend my friends at excelsior auto. although they may not be star certified (which made me come here big mistake!!!) they do regular smog and are honest, amazing people! stay away from this place!!!

Unfortunately this shell gas station is too conveniently located– so I’m using it a lot. If you need anything but gas — like receipts or water or paper-​towels or any other things you may need for a car you will not find this here.

Stop! Don’t bring your car here. They’ll rip you off. They charge me $ 75 dollars for checking my brakes and spray WD40.

Pass by here all the time, but would never come here just because of the prices. I’d rather go across the street to the sketchy-​looking Silver Gas & Diesel, only if it’s an emergency, let’s hope we’ll never come to that.

Gas: Not the cheapest, but hey it has those cleaning agents which could come in handy. This station is also at the corner of Silver and San Bruno… for that, you can’t really go wrong — it’s right off the freeway and right back on 101S.
Gas station attendant service: Pretty decent. If I need a receipt printed or change for a few dollars, no problem. Once when the self-​service window cleaner bin was out of water and paper towels, the attendant provided them promptly after I asked. I guess what would bother me if I couldn’t speak in Chinese is the abrupt English service.
For the convenience, thumbs way up. For the price, I’d rather go to Costco, but if I’m nearby, it’s late, and I need gas, this is my go-​to place!

If you want dreadful service, lack of respect, poor mechanical ability, to be thought of as just another sucker. By God, this is the place for you.
I just encountered the worst customer service from a auto repair facility in my
15 years of, get this people, «Being in the Automotive trade.»
VINCENT, the mechanic/​manager, what a joke.
I wish I would of read Unilocal comments, prior to taking my poor friends car to this dump.
Not to get into to much detail.
But, get everything in writing or his chicken scratch, and ask for all paper work up front.
And if you feel like you are being ripped off, sorry buddy but you probably just did.
Do your home work people and get another Quote or second opinion from somewhere else.

20 bucks cash only for flat repair (though you will be in an out fast), he probably pockets the casth

Went there to get battery and break pad replaced
He said he will give me special discount and total will be $ 415
Hour later when I came back he said he mis calculated and charged me $ 500
When I complained he said 10 to 20% above estimate is very common and charged me $ 500
Rip off!!!

So just to update this–
Shell Corporate said that this location is a Franchise, so they spoke to the owners who are «willing» to talk to me and «discuss».
Well, by the time I had received this email from Corporate, I had already received a call from Vincent at the station who said he wanted to discuss and make things right. After a few days of missed calls back and forth, I had the displeasure of speaking to him this past Friday.
His idea of «discussing» was telling me that I didn’t know what I was talking about and him trying to defend his actions by saying he had my mother’s safety as his first concern. He also stated that his repairs were all within his guidelines. I’m not sure how his guidelines «trump» Toyota’s guidelines… but he was completely unprofessional and continued to talk over me, would not allow me to complete a sentence. I finally just ended the conversation and told him it was clear that we weren’t going to resolve anything with this conversation and that I would take care of things through other avenues.
At the start of our conversation, he did seem very put out by the fact that I had contacted Shell Corporate. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and also with the Bureau of Automotive Repair. I also have several friends spreading the word via social media to avoid this station for any type of service and/​or gas. Any business that treats people this way does not deserve to have customers.

Nice spot for a gas station at this corner. Indeed, it is of convenience for consumers. When the gas tank is in immediate need of a refill, Shell is here for you. I do have to admit this station does look cleaner.

Auto Shop:
— I got my brakes redone here on my Escort and shelled out about $ 450, but that was about 9 years ago.
— I’ve brought my car in for smog testing without an appointment and they saw me right away.
— I’ve also gotten oil changes here, but have since gone elsewhere because they can take up to a couple of hours.
Gas Station:
Expensive. I almost never get gas here unless it’s night time and I’m too afraid to go to the ghetto Silver Gas and Diesel across the street.
Overall: Shop is ideal for basic testing and repairs. But I recommend you shop around before you leave your car here for repairs. They are often more expensive than the nearby auto shops.
