Established in 1999.

Dr Javaheri is a second-​generation surgeon whose father was an accomplished aesthetic surgeon in southern California. He is double Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology (ENT). His education includes graduating from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, surgical residency from University of California Davis, Otolaryngology residency from the University of California Irvine, and residency in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery from University of South Florida. Currently Dr. Javaheri is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Martinez VA OPC, and Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center, and has private practices in Berkeley and San Francisco.

I have been going to Dr. Javaheri to get laser tattoo removal. He is extremely nice and professional and his front desk staff are very friendly and give great customer service. Overall, I won’t be going back again for Botox with Dr. Javaheri. While the doctor was perfectly nice, many other parts of this experience were simply too terrible to ignore. This is literally the first Unilocal review I’ve ever written because I was so frustrated with this process overall that I had to share…
Months ago, I had purchased a Groupon that I had completely forgotten about. I asked that, since the same promotion was still available months later (it is still available even today), if they would just let me use it. I mean, why not?
For some still unclear reason, both Groupon and Dr. Javaheri’s office told me that they were DIFFERENT promotions (they were not), and thus could not be used the same way. Since my Groupon had expired, it could only be used as cash value, no promotion. Fine.
So, since they are different, I should be able to buy a second one and use that one as a «Groupon» paired with the now only «cash value» Groupon, right? Wrong. Though the receptionist over the phone agreed with me completely that I should be able to get at least ONE deal out of this experience, she was told by her manager that no, I could not use two Groupon’s together… even though I was told earlier that they were «different»? Even though one was not being used as a Groupon, but instead only as «cash value»? Seriously?
If all of that wasn’t enough, the doctor, while very kind, administered the botox in a way that was far more painful than any of the prior treatment’s I’ve had. Additionally, the pricks are bloody.
Was it really worth it to screw me out of a deal like that? Aren’t these kinds of promotions created to entice you to come in and build a relationship? Prior to this experience, I had gone to a different doctor at a Medspa, and let me tell you… I now appreciate that OTHER relationship I’d built (not to mention, they let me use a Groupon TWO DIFFERENT TIMES, no fuss!)
I’m off to go argue with Groupon in attempts to get my wasted $ 200 back… thanks Dr. Javaheri for all of this unnecessary trouble!

I recently saw Dr. Javaheri for my second time and am ABSOLUTELY thrilled that I have found a talented plastic surgeon who not only meets my needs but is also a congenial and interesting person! I had Botox and Juvederm and am sooooooooo very, very happy with the results… MUCH, MUCH MORE SO than what I have been receiving from other plastic surgeons in his same building at 2100 Webster St, San Francisco. I also paid about a THIRD of the money that I have paid other plastic surgeons for the same service… I am just elated beyond belief because I felt that I was being overdone (AND overcharged) at the other plastic surgery offices and not getting a good physical result. At this very moment, I look rejuvenated, relaxed, and feel younger without looking like I’ve had any obvious treatment (I can’t stand that «plastic surgery» look where it looks unnatural. The goal is to look better and younger without someone knowing that you’ve been rejuvenated a bit… for example, I’ll hear, «You look good! Is that a new haircut? Is that a new lipstick you’re wearing?») The Botox has also relieved the tension around my eyes and forehead, and I am already seeing a significant reduction in my tension headaches (it’s only been a couple of days since my procedures). I will definitely be going back to Dr. Javaheri every 4 – 6 mos for touch ups as needed. I would RECOMMEND Dr. Javaheri in a heartbeat! I will definitely be sending my friends to him. Dr. Javaheri is a super nice guy in addition to being an excellent clinician ;))

Got an IPL facial (via Living Social) and was very happy with it. I did not have to wait at all. The staff was really nice and Dr. Javaheri spent a good amount of time educating me on the procedure and what to expect. I was happy with the results and plan to go back.

Doctor Javaheri has not only been an amazing, patient, thoughtful, intelligent doctor but a wise and tender soul. He was so understanding during surgery w local anesthesia removing a possibly cancerous skin tag. He kept me at ease at all times and I didn’t feel a thing! I’m very thankful to have met this doctor and Joy & Julie heading up the office team! Wonderful place.

I bought a group on and paid additional money for more units. Totally happy with results. I’ve had Botox at lots of offices and I liked the no nonsense approach and the fact that he is obviously skilled. Nothing worse than getting up the next day and barely seeing a change in your frown line – my results were great!

I had an IPL facial here and I would actually give them a 4.5 stars. Being that it was a my first time having IPL and I was a little nervous, but felt more confident since I was at a plastic surgeons office. I found Dr. Javaheri to be very pleasant, He let me know when he was going on when he was using the laser which I appreciated, because your eyes are covered during the process. Overall I had a great experience.

Went for tattoo removal. First off, the woman at the front desk was nice and funny. The Doc was thorough and offered plenty of explanation before he started. They were prompt about my appointment. Which was appreciated. My tattoo is visibly lighter. I’m looking forward to my next session.

I bought a Groupon for Dr Javaheri’s office for laser tattoo removal and based on the amount paid, I was a bit skeptical.
On my first visit, I waited an hour for my session because the nurse couldn’t get the machine working, no biggie, it’s technology. But I was taking time off of work and they didn’t even apologize. I have had treatments before and I told them yet they used the lowest setting they could.
Session 2. New nurse. She looks at my chart and asks why my settings were so low. I had the same question. She proceeds with a an incrementally higher setting that was still too low. No frosting on the tattoo.
Session 3. Return of nurse 1 who then decides to really crank it up so I can get a good level of frosting (very important in tattoo removal) and I was finally pleased with the session. But guess what, my groupon is up. This nurse recommended that I come back for another bundle. I’m sure she does.
On top of it, they asked me to rate them yesterday in the office and I generously put 4 stars because I’m sure they treat clients who pay full price better and when I got home my rating had been changed to 5 stars and I received a confirmation email.
Overall, very disappointing. However, I’m sure full paying clients receive better service based on other reviews. My suggestion is, don’t do groupon’s anymore if you are going to treat patients like that, I’m certainly not giving them any money after how poor my experience was, I would rather go see another Dr.

I wasnt going to write this review, but I’ve received about 3 – 4 email reminders to rate/​review Dr. Javaheri, so I hope this feedback helps. As the earlier reviews mentioned, Dr. J is very nice and friendly. I also bought a groupon and decided to use it for the forehead area between the eyes. From the time I walked into the office til the time I walked out. was about 8 minutes. He didn’t say much about the procedure, didn’t give much after care advice. It’s now a few weeks later and one side of my forehead is more moveable than the other. I felt like the injections were super rushed and not much thought was put into it. So basically. I am NOT happy with the end result and I feel like the entire thing was a waste of money. Would not go back.

As people wrote, really nice doctor. I bought a Groupon for Botox and had no trouble getting an appointment within a couple of weeks.
The reception ladies were super nice. I didn’t wait long (10 – 15 minutes) but spent that time completing forms. I still wonder why all doctors’ offices don’t just email you those to complete online or at home to bring in with you. Seems it would save so much time.
Anyway, minimal consult since I’d had this done before 6 – 7 times. He commented that he was «fast» which I’m not sure is a good thing. No topical or even the offer for a topical. I would have liked the option at least.
Now, understand, I’m not a whimp. I’ve had tattoos in sensitive places and even had a tattoo removed (which is quite painful). Botox injections are usually minimal pain. HOWEVER. This was, hands down, the most painful procedure I’ve ever had with injections. I felt like I’d been punched in the cheek and (1.5 hours later) am still throbbing with pain. Since the injection was below my eye (crows feet), I’m expecting a bruise to develop. I hope not. Waiting for the pain to subside but completely unexpected.
When I left, I got minimal direction except not to touch it. That was it. When I asked about another procedure, he gave me some information but, for some reason, wouldn’t talk pricing. The receptionist had to tell me that. Ok.
Nice or not, there is no need to walk out in pain. I would have preferred that he take his time and have some pain there than rush and leave me throbbing all day.
I’ll update once the pain is gone but, to be honest, I won’t go back.

This was my first visit to Dr. Javaheri and I was impressed! The office itself is very comfortable, making use of colors that are relaxing rather then the bright white or urine yellow some medical offices seem to prefer. I was warmly greeted when I entered the office. Because of that welcome I assumed the receptionist didn’t remember I was using a Groupon. Well she did and it didn’t matter. Often businesses seem to look on folks with discount promotions as an inconvenient pain taking advantage of an over stock situation. Definitely not the case here. My whole experience was first class. From the receptionist to the doctor to paying the bill, it was all friendly, courteous, and as if I had gone through a time warp when the customer was truly number one! Would I go see Dr. Javaheri again without a Groupon? As they say in Minnesota, ‘you betcha!’.

I’m not a big Unilocal reviewer, but I received such good service this past week from Dr. J and his team that the least that I could do was to write a personal thank you and a positive Unilocal review. I was meeting with Annie, the nurse, for a routine appt when I mentioned that I had a bad bike accident on the way to their office. Annie was kind and supportive and calmly pulled in Dr. J to take a look at my hand. Dr. J took the time to squeeze me into his schedule and stitch up my hand. He did a great job and wasn’t even going to charge me (but I insisted that they bill my insurance)! Annie made sure that I was safe and well enough to leave before doing so. My experience in their office helped make 6 stitches in my hand so much better!

Dr. Javaheri did a fantastic job with my mole removal – one that other specialists told me they didn’t really want to do it since it was on my forehead. It looks great and he was able to see me right away.
The NP Annie is fantastic as well. She is always incredibly friendly and does a great job with the laser hair removal.

I had Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty by Dr. Javaheri and I couldn’t be happier with my results. I’ll admit I was a bit impatient with my healing process, with the swelling, but my nose looks perfect now. It will he a year in October. I found the doc to be very professional and clear in explaining to me what to expect. My surgery went super smoothly and I experienced no pain whatsoever. It was a breeze for me. I hope to see him for one more procedure and then I will cut myself off. :) I also come here for laser hair removal and the nurse is amazing. She is so sweet and great at what she does as well.

I can honestly say the Dr. Javaheri is honest and will tell you what he feels you can expect from a surgery or procedure.
Dr. Javaheri believes in thinking positive and will work with his patients on that.
He is skilled, has had many years experience, does a good job making sure you understand technique and procedure.
His office staff is also supportive and has good follow through. Their service is personalized and they make you feel like a friend.
As with any surgeon or service, you need to educate yourself on what to expect and put trust in their skills. I always believe a patient needs to educate themselves so they are better equipped on what questions to ask when in an appointment, and to better understand the possible outcomes.
