Dr. Louie was a member of the U.S. Olympic Training Squad for three years, and fenced on the U.S. Women’s Foil Team in Europe in 1978. She placed 4th individually in the 1981 U.S. Nationals. Dr. Louie received her Moniteur certificates in foil and sabre in 2006 and Prévôt de Sabre certificate in June 2009, from the U.S. Fencing Coaches Association — USFCA. In 2010 both coaches co-authored the acclaimed fencing text for coaches and fencers, Fencing: A Practical Guide for Training Young Athletes. All assistant coaches are certified by the USFCA.
