History

Established in 2011.

I became interested in placenta encapsulation after having my daughter. I had saved our placenta in the freezer, but didn’t know about encapsulation until at least a month after she was born. I looked online and could not find anyone who offered the service for less than 300, which, sadly, I could not afford. I struggled with depression, and so badly wished I had been able to ingest my placenta, even if it had only helped a little bit.

After completing my Doula training in Oct. of 2010, my interest in supporting new moms became my new direction. I wanted to be able to offer the service at a more affordable, or even sliding scale rate, something I had been unable to find.

I spent a lot of time researching and refining my knowledge of the placenta before I had my first client in the fall of 2011. In early 2012 I furthered my knowledge of «placenta medicine» by learning how to make a tincture. (something that be stored and saved to balance hormones during PMS or menopause)

Tomi lives in San Francisco and was trained as a Doula in the fall of 2010,

She was advised under the New PLacenta Group on Ning, and SF Acupuncturist, Carol Fusco in TCM style encapsulation.

She has an up to date Blood Borne Pathogens certificate and uses all safety precations in accordance with OSHA. (food safety regulations)

Besides being a placenta chef and encapsulation provider, Tomi is also an Improvisational dancer. She loves learning and exploring the body’s connection to life’s landscape and also plans to one day teach workshops on somatic exploration as a source of healing.
