With over 14,000 party items, we are a retail party store, wholesale balloon distributor, and wholesale food distributor for Gold Medal food equipment. We have balloon twisters, balloon decorators and party planners at your service. We have all current holiday and special event supplies, and offer products that may be hard to find anywhere else, such as bachelorette party items. You may conveniently shop and order your party supplies from our website. We have a delivery service available in San Francisco, Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. Just give us a call for a reservation.

History

Established in 1907.

SF Party began over 100 years ago as a small retail toy and novelty store on Mission Street in San Francisco and named after the original two owners, Mr. Kindel and Mr. Graham. We do business in a very modern way but keep the traditional values of our founders. Today we are called SF Party, and dedicated to providing great customer service and limitless options for your special event and party needs.

I call in the morning to place an order and they said they will call me back end of the day in the afternoon at four I called again they still haven’t give me an answer about my order so I asked them to place another order so when I come the next day I could just pick it up instead of waiting for them to scramble to look for the items, lady pick up the phone put me on hold for over half an hour super rude service she was telling me that she have other customer there! so am I not a customer also???

For my 32nd birthday, my girlfriend decided to throw me a Bavarian themed party in the Presidio. We needed long tables and chairs as we wanted to display many many roasted chickens to devour with our bare hands. That being said, we don’t own that many tables. :)
After calling around to multiple places in the city, SF party had the best prices by far. They were also the most flexible with pickup and return times. I would highly recommend calling these guys before making any other decisions for party rental stuff in SF as I bet they can beat any price.
Our reserved tables and chairs were ready when we picked up and the service greeted us with a smile. We will be back, see you when I’m 34!

Really friendly staff, and they managed to rent me a last minute tank of helium and had such a great selection of balloons, etc, so I could pull of a surprise party for my friend on his birthday, which unfortunately landed on Thanksgiving and nothing was open. That tank lasted an entire weekend of fun producing chipmunk voices too. Highly recommended.

No returns allowed even on items that have not been opened is completely ridiculous. I bought a costume and wanted to return it no longer than 20 minutes after I purchased it and I had not even opened the package the costume came in. I understand others trying to wear a costume for a day and return it, but to not allow someone to return something that HAD NOT BEEN OPENED AND PURCHASED NO MORE THAN 30 MINUTES PRIOR, is absolutely unacceptable. Will never come here again and I will make sure to spread the word.

SF Party is a great resource for any holiday, party, or themed event. I’ve been here a few times, during different seasons, and they always provide off and on-​season party supplies which is really helpful.
The staff is great in recommending what might work out best, and in blowing up balloons, etc…
–1 Star because this place is ridiculously expensive. It’s about 2x what I’d like to be paying for party supplies/​costumes.

Fantastic delivery service. My father ordered balloons for my daughter’s birthday and they were delivered within 30 minutes. One of the balloons was a little limp and the driver left and came back in 15 minutes with a whole new bouquet. I will absolutely use them again and couldn’t be happier with the service!

I’ve been to this location many times. The first time was about 2 years ago. I was delighted by the customer service and the selection of party items in store. The sales staff were helpful with my helium tank rental and all went smoothly. They even gave me tips on how to tie the balloons to the string in order to not hurt my hands, thank you! (I had hundreds of balloons to blow up!)
However, my last visit, did not go as smoothly. I wanted to rent a helium tank as I had done previously. I was pleased to find a coupon on Unilocal for this location. The staff however had no idea how to redeem my coupon I had purchased. It took 4 staff members and a phone call to figure it out. They seemed highly annoyed with me and didn’t want to be of any help after I showed them the coupon I wanted to use.
I would say this place is a 50⁄50 shot at good customer service, depending on who they have working that day.

This is my go-​to place for birthdays and company parties! They have a great selection for all sorts of events. The staff is great, they helped me last week with my Halloween costume and wig.

I really enjoyed the variety that the store carries since they have a rental department, so I was lucky to find a ginormous prize wheel in time for my event the next day. However, the prices are hefty compared to neighboring cities as it is SF, and the staff was very chill but almost to the point of lack of enthusiasm for a party store during its most busy time of the year.
I think this is a great resource for those looking for unique gifts and items, but overall just getting all of your Halloween supplies from here, be ready to pay the SF «premium» difference. Look to Cliffs Variety in the Castro for alternatives as well.
pro: They have this amazing chocolate fondue that I draws me to the store pretty much every time I am in the neighborhood and end up buying something!

Enter at your own risk — quite possibly the most poorly managed store I have ever purchased anything from in SF.
The «management» literally have no skill or concern regarding customer service.
Whatever untruths (lies) they need to make up to in the moment to cover the tracks of their deceit is what they will do. Their business practices are so egregious it makes it feel like something shady is going down.
Filled with over-​priced, very cheaply produced trash, almost all of which is sourced from highly dubious sources, this junky store should be avoided at all costs.
There are a couple very nice staff members who work in the shop who can not be blamed for the grossly negligent behavior of staff such as Jasmine — who should never be allowed to interact with a customer… ever.

I reserved some tables a few weeks ago and when I went to pick them up there was a mix up and there were no tables for me. Instead of the usual apology, they actually had someone in Sacramento (a big thank you to Julio) buy new tables and drive them down and delivered them to us that night!
Now that’s what I call customer service! They honored their contract and all went well. Thank you to all the staff! Thanks again to Julio for making it happen and being a true professional!

SF Party should be everyone’s go-​to spot for party supplies in the city.
They have it all and their staff are unbelievably helpful and sweet.
I needed to pick up large golden letter balloons for an upcoming work related event and SF Party not only had quality balloons in stock for a very reasonable price, but they were also fun to chat with — while they inflated them.
SF Party has grown since the last time I came here. They now even have a downstairs area — which I didn’t get a chance to explore, but judging by the well stocked upstairs two rooms — it is just as impressively curated with all of one’s party wants and desires.
If you need balloons for an event, if you need cups and plates, if you need pinatas, if you need cardboard cutouts, if you need a popcorn machine, if you need party decorations, if you need a Halloween costume or outfit and much more — come here.

Great store! Came here to get birthday balloons for my son. It was the day before bay to breakers and the store was packed. We had a bit of a wait and the woman ahead of me was very impatient. Staff handled it well though I would have given her the boot!
The store’s got tons of party stuff and the prices are moderate. It’s a fun place for kids and adults!
TIP: My son’s birthday was on Sunday, but the shop is closed that day so we had to get them on Saturday. I paid extra for the high float and was told they would last at least three days. They didn’t even make it 48 hours. Only one of the balloons was still floating by Monday morning.

I am so glad that there is a party & costume store right in the neighborhood!
Of course, it isn’t your giant Party City or Halloween store, but for the size, they cram as many holidays and party favors as they could.
I needed a few balloons to march in the Pi Day Parade. You heard me right. While everyone else was in the ‘St. Patrick’s Day’ corner, buying green wigs and beer cups, I was buying balloons to celebrate math. Typical me.
Unfortunately, of all the giant selection of latex balloons they have, they didn’t have any with numbers printed on them. They have giant Foil/​Mylar ballons that are shaped like numbers but they are quite large and not much for carrying around.
I bought 6 balloons in different colors and I asked them to color coordinate the strings. The guy helping me was very nice and very quick. He ‘bouqueted’ my balloons together exactly how I wanted and I was on my way!
Latex balloons are 39 cents unflated, but $ 1.50 with helium and strings.
I took a peek around while my balloons were prepared and saw plenty of costumes, party decorations in many themes, and party rentals-​such as cotton candy machines and helium tanks.
They also do pre-​orders of balloons, so you can tell them what you want, and pick them up on the day you need it!
I left with my rainbow bouquet of balloons and I was feeling like a kid again as I went about town with them all day. Thanks SF Party!

Get lost in an entire basement full of balloons– different colors, sizes, shapes, and quantities. Come with a vision or, like me, just ask the staff to help make your party needs become a reality.
I only wish they were open earlier so that I could have balloons blown up for my morning party needs. Also note that returns are subject only to store credit, so be diligent on what you really need.

I needed a wig to wear to work for Halloween. After Unilocaling for spots close to work, I found SF Party.
Staff is very friendly and super helpful. I ended up finding a blonde wig for $ 26.24. Original price was $ 34.99, but it was 25% off. Score cuz who wants to spend that much money on something I’ll pull out of my closet maybe once a year.
My friend also borrowed it for an Amanda Bynes costume later that night. Two costumes for less than $ 30? Not bad!

Came here to grab some balloons and wasn’t sure what I was going to get but I wanted something slightly obnoxious for my boyfriend’s office. I spent about 15 – 20 min in here. Carl was extremely helpful when I told him what I wanted in the bunch and he handed me a binder full of different balloons and suggested the best/​most popular ones.
Regular 11″ latex came out to $ 1.50 each, shiny mylar balloons were mostly $ 3.99. The most expensive balloon was $ 7.99 for the SF giants Jersey.
I ended up paying around $ 35 for 10 balloons and a very surprised/​happy boyfriend. Thanks for all your help, Carl! Great customer service here and I look forward to coming back for my next hbirthday surprise :)
