SF Dental Imaging

As others have noted: very unprofessional.
I emailed them for an appt and got a quick response which I was delighted with. I responded back and confirmed the time they suggested for the day after next. It was later than I wanted but I figured I would show up early in case they could squeeze me in.
I arrived 15 minutes early — standard for most medical offices — and the office was closed. I called their number hoping someone was inside but considering their mail was still on the floor I doubt anyone was in. I left a message and waited. And waited. And waited. No courtesy call or explanation.
I emailed them again with the full email chain stating my preferred appt times, their response to me, and my confirmation. I cc’d my ortho, and explained in detail what happened and said I wanted a different referral.
Their response? They never for my email confirmation. Yeah, right.

I was sent here by my dentist’s office to get panoramic xrays done. I called, and they were able to accommodate me within the hour. When I arrived, it was just a few minutes to check in, pay, and have the xrays done. Quick. Painless. No complaints.

Had a 3pm appointment but wasn’t even able to fill out forms, check in, and pay for 20 minutes after 3pm, then told that I wouldn’t be seen for another 35 – 45 minutes! Annoying because I wanted a later appointment to begin with so I didn’t have to race to get here in time but they said they couldn’t accommodate me.
There was only one person working in the entire office and he was friendly, but visibly stressed out – maybe someone called in sick so he was left to do all the checking in and dental imaging by himself? So sh*t happens, I could deal with waiting a bit, but then I found out that the only other patient there also had a 3pm appointment. So they double booked one time slot and then I had to wait an hour when I wanted to come in later?! So annoying, unprofessional and inconsiderate of my time.
Lastly, after being told I had to wait for so long, I asked for some water, they said they didn’t even have cups. What?! You take dental X-​rays and don’t even have a cup if someone wanted to rinse their mouth before or after the imaging? if you are going to make people wait, you should at least be able to offer then something to drink – hell my hair salon has a water cooler and I don’t ever have to wait an hour after my scheduled appointment to be seen. I would not recommend this place if you have a tight schedule to work with – or come prepared to wait.

Two times I have arrived at this place only to be told that the computer does not work and I will have to reschedule or go to South SF.
I had already driven the 20 minutes out there and paid for parking. The rude receptionist said they called but I went home and checked, I discovered they called about 20 minutes before the appointment, so basically after I had left.
The receptionist then gave me so much attitude about rescheduling. Again, this was the second time I had made an appointment, SHOWED UP AND PARKED, and then was told that I would have to come back. Ridiculous. Will be asking my dentist for a different x-​ray location next time.

my wisdom teeth had started making an appearance, and my dentist referred me to sf dental imaging for a panelipse x ray so we could see them bad boys. the technician, Sunny, was so sweet. she guided me through the 15 second process with ease and even showed me my x ray afterwards. i was parked in a 10 minute green zone (i swear green zones are supposed to be 20), but i was in and out without having to move my car. winning!
HOWEVER, before the x-​rays were taken, i was instructed that all my jewelry had to be removed. necklace? done. earlobe piercings? not a problem. helix and rook piercings? 3 HUGE PROBLEMS. i had no idea how to take them out. after trying and failing, googling removal instructions on my iPhone and STILL failing, Sunny came outside and, after looking at my piercings, thankfully decided that the helixes and rook wouldn’t be a problem since they were located higher on my ear and therefore would not affect the x ray. double winning!
overall — quick, painless, and (relatively) easy. remember to bring the x ray slip the doctor gives you, and DEF remember to remove the earrings… or at least know how to before you get there! unless your piercings are tragus level or above. in that case, you’re good to go :)

It was a bad experience! The x-​ray technician who looks in her 40s took forever to get the images done. I have had it done in much lesser time in one shot in other places. She needed to repeat the process a few times.
That aside, the room where I had work done was messy and the carpet was dingy.
Oh, also don’t be late! That x-​ray technician will never stop rubbing it until she is satisfied even if you say sorry and give reasons. Good lord, she is tough and a mocker!
I won’t recommend this place. Not w/​her!

The people are really nice. They ask if it hurts, if it is comfortable and all. They really care. Super kind, pretty fast. It’s like you’re in, then out.

Bad bad technician…
I arrived exactly at 8:30am and found only one lady behind the counter. I didn’t know who she was, and she didn’t even bother to introduce herself so I thought, «whatever. «That didn’t bother me too much. What ticked me off was the entire x-​ray procedure. You’d think that it would be painless. But nooo~~
Everytime she’d load a small film to take an x-​ray of each of my tooth, she’d do it in such a way that the film would dig into my mouth! I felt like I was going to get cuts from the damned thing! And then, she wasn’t gentle at all. I mean, come on – She must know that there are some people who’s jaws are not aligned properly. I wasn’t biting down on the thing like she wanted me to so she freakin’ tried to push my lower jaw in a direction that it really couldn’t go. :’(
That wasn’t the end of it. She needed to take pictures of my teeth with a regular camera. So she asked me to use a device to hold my mouth open. I wasn’t uncomfortable with the fact I had to expose all my teeth and gums; I was uncomfortable about the fact taht the equipment was NOT sterile and was BROKEN! WTF!!! Even worse — she SHOVED a mirror into my mouth to take the pictures inside. I don’t mind the mirror but f’ckin-a woman!!! The mirror was wider than my mouth! The sides of my lips nearly tore because of that!
Oh and did I mention. The woman left me waiting in the x-​ray room for like 10min because she was taking a personal call… I scheduled for an 8:30am appointment because I’m in a hurry, okay, b*tch. Not so that you can take your sweet f*cking time on the phone while I wait anxiously to get the hell out!
Totally do not recommend this place for dental x-​rays. Bad service, and bad people skills.

I’ve had two appointments here in the last year. Parking has been easy (compared to getting x-​rays downtown). The technician was late for my last visit but they called me enroute and I was able to stop for breakfast instead. The facilities are cramped but functional. The strangest thing is I’ve never seen any other patients, so I suppose this is a great place for people who don’t want to see anyone else in the waiting room.
