There are actually several playgrounds within walking distance of our Tenderloin home, but this small one is our daughter’s favorite. She asks to be taken here almost every day. She and her best friend swing side-by-side, have imaginative adventures on the train, and climb like the little monkeys they are. They are, for the most part, oblivious to any activity outside the playground that makes parents uncomfortable. I have never seen a syringe here. Litter, yes, but the playground is swept morning and night by Rec & Parks. A second trash can(with recycling bin) would be nice, as well as better up-keep on the planted areas. So there is dust/mud that kids get into. For me, that’s far more annoying that the crazy guy walking by. Hope this little place gets a Friends group someday!

Fun for children – Scary for parents. They have swings, a couple Playscape-type activity structures, and a wooden train. They also have scary transvestite prostitutes and insane, screaming homeless people parading up and down the street in front of the park. Did I mention that the New Century Gentlemen’s Club is across the street? You can play in the park late afternoon on Sunday and then hit the the Naughty Amateur Show every Sunday night. My daughter had a great time. I was constantly searching for used syringes hiding about. After all, it is in the heart of the Tenderloin.
