Always an incredibly unique and delicious meal. They change the menu/chef every few months and I’ve never been disappointed. Except Tuesdays when the chef is out. Not sure if this is a constant thing or just with the current chef. If you’re walking along Embarcadero this is your best bet for good food.

Good food but horrible customer service. They wouldn’t take the turkey out of a turkey and cheese sandwich for my daughter… really??? We also have an allergy to onions and even though we asked them not to, they put onions in our salad! Cashier was a young guy without any compassion. Not coming here anymore.

Ridiculously overpriced. My guess is because it’s next to the Exploratorium. Ordered a turkey club, with bacon hard as rocks. Wife ordered a shrimp tostada, and she hated it so much she traded it in for my club. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere.

I think the negative reviews are from before this became a good ramen place. A lil expensive, but not compared to the ferry building. $ 10 for great ramen. Hip little place, has cold brew and coconut water. Friendly staff. Feels legit.

It was Meat Monday at the food trucks so I decided to try the new Ramen offering at Exploratorium café. It is great! Super fresh. I had Ramen broth(there are two or three others to choose from) with«Vegetarian» toppings including half of a hard boiled egg(i think the menu just said hard boiled egg. Not HALF so i was a little disappointed by that) it is a huge bowl for $ 8.50. Good deal and tastey. They also offer a variety if healthy drinks and homemade desserts. Grab your food then walk all the way down the pier and sit by the Bay. If windy or cold then sit along the wharf buildings on either side and catch the sun while shielded from wind and still«on the water» Great secret lunch option in this part of town.

This place is located in a convenient place so I decided to eat here before the Exploratorium. I ordered a couple bowls of ramen(I think it was priced at $ 9.50) and it was the pork base. When we got our bowls of ramen, the broth tasted just like salty water. The pork was surprisingly dry although it’s in soup. They also had green beans as one of the toppings, but it doesn’t go well with the ramen at all. Oh, and the bamboo shoots were basically inedible – I couldn’t even bite through it. Hands down the worst ramen I have ever had. Don’t waste your money on it.

Nice place despite a few rude customers! We waited in line for 10 minutes while a man who wouldn’t look at the menu berated the cashier for not having him customize orders. The fried chicken sandwich is a little pricey but worth the wait.

The food is not bad even for the price but it might surprise you to know how this is not really a family restaurant. they have only one dish suitable for children even though they are placed in a museum. They also only sell water and do not offer tap water under any circumstances. I was referred to the drinking fountain around the corner after paying $ 17 for a sandwich and yes a drink.

We had such a fun day at the Exploratorium but lunch at the Seismic Joint was not a highlight. My wife and I split the Fried Chicken sandwich, which sounded great on the menu board but stumbled in its execution. The sandwich had lots of wonderful vegetables but the chicken itself was fried way too hard. Much too tough, too crispy and too dry. My kids enjoyed their grilled cheese, but I don’t understand why it was served in a paper thin plastic pouch on top of 6 cherry tomatoes underneath. The only seating was outside in the arctic shade — it was meat-locker cold. And windy too. The food was also crazy expensive — our chicken sandwich was $ 12.50 and the grilled cheese(literally just a couple slices of cheese on white bread) was $ 7.50. Add drinks and you’re in mortgage payment territory. Ok, maybe not quite, but at this price point and at this amazing location, the food and experience should have been better.

We ordered two items on the menu: grilled cheese and fried chicken sandwich. The Grilled cheese was ordinary, the chicken sandwich was barely OK, especially since the bread did not seem fresh. My biggest complaint about this place are the prices. I’m sure they pay top dollar to rent a space like that, but I would expect better quality food at these prices. We do like to visit the Exploratorium once in a while, and I hope that the café’s owners improve the food so that we can enjoy a byte while we visit. I must add that the staff were really nice.

Friendly staff, but that was pretty much the only upside to this place. The coffee was disgusting and my boyfriend and I only finished it because we needed a little caffeine.

A $ 12 salami sandwich. An $ 8 grilled cheese. This place has no children’s menu yet it’s part of the Exploratorium. They serve extremely overpriced adult-style food but nothing for kids. Given its location and clientele, this place misses the target completely. Go eat someplace else, anyplace else.

We were at the Exploratorium, looking for a snack. Found this place… bleech! Hard cookies, unidentifiable ice cream, all for $ 20. I actually tool the ice cream back and told them it was inedible and they said nothing. Save you money. Take your own snacks and remember no bottle water in the area except drinking fountains.

We had to ran out of the Exploratorium and grab something to eat here because we were starving but did not want to eat too much because we had dinner plans somewhere else. This place is like a small café, but the clam chowder is surprisingly good. I think the mostly have pastry and sandwiches.
