We are a Fee-​for-​Service Financial Planning practice. We don’t have associations with brokerage houses, banks or other financial institutions so that we can provide you with clear and unbiased advice. Removing the conflicts of interest allow you to focus on making your plan successful. We have a pragmatic approach, provide easy to use solutions to everday financial questions. We believe in Financial Literacy and Empowing individuals and Families with their money. We have an excellent track record of success.

We know the UC and Kaiser systems particularly well and specialize in physicians & health care practitioners. We also are well versed in stock options and work often with valley professionals. We have specialized knowledge in real estate and investments.

History

Established in 2003.

My husband and I started out as real estate investors and we continue to manage a real estate portfolio. To combine our backgrounds in real estate and in finance we became mortgage & real estate brokers. However, as I became intrigued with the «bigger picture» and was used to consulting in close relationship with clients I realized that Financial Planning was a field unto itself and very organically changed my focus. I’m now a Financial Planner full time and I love it. I’m committed to empowering my clients with their money and breaking down the taboos we have in this culture in talking about money.

We are very committed to our neighborhood and business communities and volunteer in Financial Literacy. We help to run our Merchant’s Association and believe in grass roots civic responsibility. We love this city and we work hard to make our community and our world a better place.

Brandi and Vincenzo are more than financial gurus– they’re life mentors.
I began visiting Brandi shortly after getting engaged. I had no idea what a Roth IRA was, didn’t see the value in contributing to a 401k, and did all of my budgeting in my head. My fiancé and I shyed away from conversations about money, and found it difficult to save for anything.
We made immediate progress after our first visit. Brandi reviewed and consolidated our accounts, helped us set up automated savings, mapped our financial future and motivated us to stay committed. A year later we were confidently paying the final invoices for our wedding, saving for our honeymoon, and planting the seed to buy a home.
Even better than her financial advice and management, Brandi provided us with a framework to discuss our finances and goals. This has proved invaluable.
Vincenzo is equally amazing– his expertise (and patience!) made us feel confident and supported as we began searching for a house. He worked around the clock to ensure all of our questions were answered and tirelessly reviewed and explained every document.

Vincenzo is the best! I went to him on the recommendation of a colleague (he gets a lot of his business through word of mouth, for good reason!). He guided me through my refinance earlier this year and it couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Moreover, he got me the best rate at the lowest points available, period. I know this because I shopped around, speaking with several direct lenders and another local mortgage broker myself, and no one offered me as good terms as Vincenzo got me. Ironically, my loan is now serviced by Quicken Loans, but Vincenzo got me a much better deal from them than they were offering me when I went to them directly. In fact, the sales rep at Quicken tried to use high pressure sales tactics, telling me that there was «no way» that Vincenzo could possibly get me the deal he had offered, and she instead pushed me hard to put down a large, non-​refundable deposit with Quicken over the phone at that very moment – for a loan with worse terms and a higher interest rate. I of course refused. And guess what? Vincenzo did get me the deal he had originally offered, and on top of that he provided exceptional service the whole way through. He made the whole process incredibly easy by taking care of almost all the paperwork so that there were only a few documents for me to sign at the end and then voila! It was done. If you’re looking to refinance, don’t go to a direct lender, don’t go to a bank, and don’t go to another mortgage broker. Go to Vincenzo!

Highly recommended Financial Services!
Vincenzo is one of the best mortgage brokers I’ve ever woked with. He is knowledgable and makes an honest effort for your best interest. Definitely a return customer kind of service.
He analizes your specific situation and makes recommendations on course of action, comes up with alternative ways to close a deal. If you have trouble getting a loan elsewhere, or even need advice on how to prepare yourself do talk to Vincenzo, it is definitely worth your time.

Vincenzo is by far the best mortgage broker I have worked with, and that’s saying something because I have refinanced four times. My refinances are not simple, and he did a terrific job of foreseeing difficulties and preventing them from happening. That is much much better than other mortgage brokers I’ve worked, with who failed to tease out all possible difficulties up front and ended up putting out fires later on which is much more difficult.
The simplest way to put it is that he gives personal, thoughtful assistance, putting in all the time and effort that’s needed and making every client feel like they are important. He worked towards a deal in my best interest with all of his time and effort, even though my home is definitely not the most expensive in town.
Vincenzo also negotiated with the lender and got me $ 4000 more than expected back for me at closing, which was pretty amazing!

Five stars at least. We loved working with Vincenzo Scalisi on our home refinance. We had been apprehensive about refinancing after having heard horror stories about shady practices by lenders and brokers that confuse and exploit borrowers. By contrast, Vincenzo was diligently thorough and honest from the start to the very end. He bent over backwards to make sure we understood the details we needed to know about, was available when we needed him, and made us feel comfortable with the transaction.
What’s more, his timing was magnificent. He locked down our rate at the perfect moment, helping us get the best rate we could have possibly gotten. The whole experience made us feel fortunate and happy. I would recommend Vincenzo without reservation.

My wife and I were hesitant when we started the process with Brandi, especially since we found them via Unilocal and the upfront financial analysis was not cheap.
Now that we’ve been working with Brandi for 1.5 years now, I can say that she is the best financial advisor that we’ve ever worked with hands down and she is worth every penny. For years, we thought about going through one of the major or independent financial firms in SF for retirement recommendations, but they charge a percentage of your overall portfolio, which is highway robbery. Brandi provides financial guidance and investment recommendations during the initial analysis and on a yearly basis based on an hourly rate. And this is only a fraction of the services she provides.
Since working with Brandi, we have balanced our savings, consolidated accounts, made better investment strategies, started a 529k plan, set-​up a family trust using her recommendations and are more secure and independent than when we started.
She also recommended us to Vincenzo to help us refinance our existing mortgage and guide us with our real estate needs. I’ve worked with other agents and mortgage brokers in the past and it’s safe to say that he is more dedicated, honest and has more integrity than all of the previous people we have worked with in the past combined.
I highly recommend Scalisi & Bernazzani to anyone who is looking to make themselves and their families more financially secure and help set-​up practically a hands free way of dealing with their finances. Bravo!

Methinks definitely NOT. I had such a terrible experience just trying to make an appointment with these people! Apparently, I could not get a prime meeting time unless I am a paying client. What an awful initial experience… I’m taking my moolah elsewhere! Highly do not recommend! I’d give them zero stars if I could.

Anything less than 5 stars wouldn’t do. Brandi (and later Vincenzo) have been a truly valuable resource for us on a number of occasions. Their knowledge and expertise are worth every penny they save you. AND they speak a language that I can understand, unlike other people I’ve worked with in the financial world. I put total trust in what they have to offer.
