Specialties

We are a non-​profit performance-​based music school for kids aged 7 – 17, offering themed seasonal programs as well as summer Rock Camps (registration is now open!). We combine private lessons with group rehearsals to prepare students for live performances at local music venues, festivals and special events. We focus on rock band roles such as electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard and vocals.

2015 is our 5^th year of offering summer Rock Camps. They’re great for improving proficiency at your instrument and gaining valuable performance experience. But even for experienced musicians, they’re an awesome way to learn how to play with bandmates, try out a new instruments, make new friends, or just have a blast playing rock music.

Rock Project is proud to be a registered 501©3 non-​profit corporation, with all proceeds being returned to the program in the form of scholarships and tuition, equipment and facilities maintenance, and staff compensation.

History

Established in 2010.

San Francisco Rock Project was born in June 2010, when a group of local families and teacher/​musicians banded together to form a non-​profit music school. Thanks to countless hours logged by its many volunteers, a deeply talented, dedicated staff, and a hard-​working and gifted group of students, Rock Project quickly established itself as the premier rock-​based music school in the Bay Area.

We’re a registered 501©3 non-​profit. I volunteer and manage the books while our amazing staff of working musicians/​teachers provide private and group instruction and prepare our kids to hit the stages of great local venues.
