I remember coming here as a kid for Folk Sing twice a month. I remember the snacks in the kitchen and groups of free spirits young and old fiddling up a storm in the front room and singing their hearts out in the middle room. I remember being enthralled and amazed that so many people would open their hearts so much to sharing music with others. And I remember Faith Petric, the wonderful and inspirational everyday woman who runs it all.
I am amazed no one has Unilocaled about this amazing San Francisco tradition yet. I understand those of us who feel like it is our little intimate slice of what the world should be but let’s share it with others.
I have grown up and returned to the Bay Area and I plan on going this week or the next to rediscover the musician in myself that has been silenced for so long. I can’t wait. I reccommend anyone come try it too.
