San Francisco Bus & Limo Service

Their business practices and customer service are horrendous. Their driving is dangerous. I was knocked over off my skateboard by one of their drivers, Ervin. The company refused to talk to me and the driver offered me far less than my skateboard is worth to keep me from calling the police. Quick story below…
I was skating in the bike lane along 17^th st in the Mission. At the corner of South Van Ness, one of their buses took a sudden right turn into a gas station without indicating or looking in their mirror. They side swiped me in the bike lane. I jumped off my board to avoid being run over but my skateboard was crunched. Completely destroyed.
I followed the bus into the gas station to try to see what can be done. The driver, Ervin Fernandez, was extremely rude to me. He tried to put the blame on me saying I was trying to get run over… I was trying to get run over??? My skateboard is worth $ 180. He offered me $ 40 and called me «a piece of crap liar».
I called their 1800 number on the side of the bus to report to the company. The person on the phone actually wanted nothing to do with me and hung up while I was explaining who had run over me. He called the driver Ervin immediately, who ended the conversation saying «ya I’ll pay him.» They did not want me reporting the accident to their insurance obviously. He then offered me $ 100, to which I said it was still not enough to actually cover the cost of replacement. After some negotiation, he refused to pay me any more. I tried calling the 1800 number a few times again to speak to the company but they refused to pick up the phone. He then got back in his car and told me to leave him alone. The driver was extremely nasty. I asked to see his license and insurance to make a report. I called the police who told me to walk to the police station to file the report.
Seeing that this was already beginning to become a hassle and not trusting that I would actually get any money from the insurance, I decided to at least take what was offered. In a funny twist, I ended up getting into the Bus to be driven to the nearest Bank of America to get the $ 100 from Ervin. His driving was erratic and truly dangerous. He was speeding and weaving through traffic down South Van Ness in a Limo Bus! I actually felt in danger being in the car driving so fast in dense traffic. No wonder he was not paying attention to the road and ran me over.
Ervin did pay me the $ 100. It will not cover the cost of my board, but what can I do? Though he did pay some money, I am making this review based on his dangerous driving and the company’s attitude and when dealing with a mistake they made. I would not trust this company after how they refused to handle the situation in a pleasant way. They refused to communicate with me and Ervin was extremely nasty. I would never recommend this company to do business.

I generally avoid posting negative reviews unless I feel it is important enough to do so and this review of San Francisco Bus & Limo Service falls into that category without a doubt. My experience with this company was something I would hope nobody has to go through ever.
For the sake of brevity I will summarize the problems I had with this company and my reservation.
* They refused to honor the Unilocal deal I purchased for $ 285. My reservation wasn’t restricted form the terms of the deal the person on the phone simply stated, «we aren’t taking Unilocal deals any longer and I would need to pay in full another way».
* I provided my credit card over the phone at time of booking and was charged the stated fee of $ 450 for my point-​to-​point service. I received a payment receipt via email with the charge details and authorization number for the transaction.
* The driver during my trip demanded cash payment of $ 450 despite my already having paid and having a receipt of payment which I emailed to him upon his request while in the car.
* He stated it wasn’t a payment receipt despite the email title being «Receipt of payment for Conf#…» and also including an authorization number plus full payment details.
* The driver refused to validate my payment or let me call my bank to verify the payment for him. He said if I didn’t pay him cash he would make me get out of the car immediately. I told him I already paid, at which time he exited the freeway (down near Gilroy, CA) and drove West out to a farm road about 4 miles off the freeway in the middle of nowhere to ensure I had no cell phone reception then made me get out of the car and drove away. He ignored my pleas to at least be dropped at a gas station or somewhere I had phone reception. Being after 8PM it took me hours to get back to where I could call a taxi cab.
* The next day I filed a report to the police & reported them to the California Public Utilities Commission Transportation Enforcement division. I looked into the company further as well and found their is no business license for San Francisco Bus and Limo Service. They don’t list an address but my payment receipt had a different company name and a Fremont address listed. The Fremont address belongs to another business not related to them at all and is totally bogus. Googling their number (866) 744‑0944 returns results of several different company names that they are operating under from both SF and the East Bay none of which I found to be legitimately licensed businesses. Their website is down. Their Facebook page is down.
These guys are criminals and very dangerous people who try and extort money and put you in harms way doing so. I, of course, did verify that my payment of $ 450 did go through further indicating that they were intentionally trying to extort money. The drivers name was Ahmad and his number is 415−730−3142. They are operating under the TCP number (30 518).

Being the control freak that I am, when I have to rely on someone else to get a group of 20 of my personal guests somewhere, it’s a little nerve-​wracking! Sonny made everything so easy for me, which really calmed my nerves. I spent hours online searching for limo/​shuttle companies, and sending out emails to any legitimate looking company I could find, and Sonny responded quickly to my inquiry and we even talked on the phone for a little while so I could explain everything I was looking for.
I was planning a Sonoma food & wine tasting event for my birthday, for 20 people. I was having everyone pay for their food & wine tasting so I wanted to treat everyone to some comfortable transportation up to the wine country. Sonny sent me different pricing options, and photos of the different shuttles. Everything was so reasonably priced and looked gorgeous in the photos! I would mention to other companies what my budget was and they all sort of laughed in my face… Sonny, on the other hand, spent time talking me through the different prices and what I could expect (and it didn’t break the bank)!! I even decided to swing by their offices to see the vehicles, just to really make sure this was what I wanted, and the shuttles were clean, well-​maintained, and very sleek. I WAS SOLD! (Not to mention the fact that everyone in the office was incredibly nice and welcoming when I stopped by.)
On the day of the event, I had all my friends meet me at the Civic Center in San Francisco for a good central location. I didn’t see the shuttle and it was getting close to the time we were supposed to leave, so I was really nervous all of my plans were going to crumble in front of me. However, I realized soon after that the shuttle had been parked around the corner the entire time waiting for us. We all quickly hopped on the shuttle and my friends could not stop «oooo”-ing and «ahhhh”-ing. The interiors were beautiful and classy… we were truly riding in style! We plugged in our music and got the show on the road! (I had rented the Luxury Shuttle Bus for this event — which could actually hold 26 people if I wanted.)
Our driver was Sufian and he was awesome! Always had a smile on his face. (He didn’t even bat an eye when we requested to make a quick stop at a convenient store to pick up some more beverages!) We got to our destination on time, and he was there to pick us up as soon as we were finished! I had planned a tight schedule, but all went smoothly. We were warned that if the limo/​shuttle got incredibly messy and needed to go in for an extra cleaning, we would need to pay the additional cleaning/​sanitation fee, and that’s definitely what we ended up having to do. HOWEVER, even with the sanitation fee, everything was still so reasonably priced compared to other companies.
If I ever need to rent a shuttle/​limo service again, I’m calling Sonny up immediately! This was one of the best events I have organized and my friends still talk about it. I couldn’t have done it without this professional shuttle service. Thank you, Sonny & team! You truly made this past birthday unforgettable!

I want to take a quick minute to send praise for the excellent service I received from San Francisco Buses in late December. I traveled to San Francisco on short notice for a family emergency and felt so well taken care of. The driver I had — I think his name was Russ or Russell was very kind when he met me in the airport. I had a bunch of extra bags since I didn’t know how long I would be in town, and he didn’t hesitate to take charge and carry them for me. Once we got to the car, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was. He made nice conversation and even extended well wishes once I told him the details of why I was visiting town. From beginning to end it was a good experience. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants a level of service beyond that of the average car company. I was impressed by how much they cared and know they will have my business in the future without a second thought.
