Uli is an inspiration and an absolute pleasure to work with. She is incredibly organized and efficient while still having the ability to come up with creative solutions to unexpected roadblocks in the design process.
Uli provided our plans for a 1,000 sq foot remodel that included moving walls and completely reconfiguring an unusable space into an office, laundry room and one bedroom guest quarters with new bathroom. She also helped us design the space. Uli trained as an architect in Germany and this combined with her design capabilities was a real asset to our project. Uli made a couple of suggestions during the planning stage that seemed small at the time but have proven to be aestically critical.
We were on a tight budget and Uli worked with us to keep her costs down. We were able to do some of the work ourselves and she came in when her expertise was needed. There were a number of occasions when the city required unexpected changes to the plans and Uli always made herself available to make the changes and get them back to us immediately. We found this indicative of her commitment to her clients since she was very busy on other projects when the need for these changes arose.
We would recommend Uli for any project large or small. She gets to know her clients and their needs and brings a sense of structure and calm to a project. We’re so pleased with our remodel and so glad that Uli was recommended to us early in the process.

As a design professional looking for a person with both design experience as well
as a background in architecture — my wife and I hit the jackpot with Uli.

also has the technical skills necessary to format the most complicated design ideas into working drawings which are beautifully conceived and handsomely detailed.

Uli was a key component in the success of our remodel. She came in at a key time when we hit the limits of our original architect, who was good at «big picture» design but not as good with the finer details. Uli stepped in and helped guide us in the multitude of decisions — tile colors, kitchen cabinet layout, kitchen cabinet hardware, position of lights, tile/​floor/​paint color schemes — you name it, Uli had solid recommendations. And she was invaluable to bounce decisions off of, since she would not withhold her opinion.
She worked diligently with our contractor to make sure the work was done with quality and to spec. She has a lot of experience and could report to us the level of quality our contract was delivering.
Additionally she drafted plans for closet shelving as well as stylish interior furniture. She has great taste and a sense of how to balance design with good style and solid craftsmanship.

Similar to one of the other reviewers, our designer moved away from SF during a critical junction of our project. With this being the very first renovation for my husband and I, to say we were a bit stressed out with this latest news development was an understatement. Luckily for us, we were introduced to Uli who immediately jumped in. During our first meeting, I was immediately struck by Uli’s ability to assess a space and help formulate a design that would work for us (we were looking for someone who could design a modern and contemporary space in a 1970’s building.) Every step of the way, Uli provided her guidance, input, and like the other reviewers said, would always show up onsite to our project to check in on the work of our contractor just to ensure things were running smoothly. Uli stepped in not only as a creative designer for us (she helped us with everything from major kitchen detailed design to our interior closet drawings), but an efficient and organized Project Manager which helped keep our entire project on track and ultimately on budget.
Having our original designer leave could have been a blessing in disguise because we were lucky enough to be introduced to Uli! I would defintely recommend Uli for your project. (If we do another renovation — which I’m already thinking of doing! — we’ll definitely involve Uli from start to finish.)

I was introduced to Uli after my original designer had to leave town half way through our massive renovation project. Needless to say, I was beyond stressed and slightly freaked out! Not only did Uli seamlessly step in and take control over the whole renovation (it was basically building an entire third floor on the ground level of my house, complete with bedroom, office, bathroom, laundry corner, and TV room,) but she also came on board and helped me design my daughter’s bedroom and put the finishing touches on mine. She was beyond responsible, showing up weekly to go over things with my contractor, and always kept in direct touch with me to make sure I was comfortable with the progress being made. She coordinated everything from paint colors, to furniture to décor, and was always up for a fun shopping trip! She made herself readily available if ever a concern suddenly popped up and was there to take care of immediately (like when we misplaced the paint color for our barn door and needed to come up with another one, fast!) Having Uli on board totally relieved my stress and anxiety (no small feat when your 8 months pregnant!) and I couldn’t recommend her enough!
