If you’re passing through as a tourist in this area, this place is worth a stop to any candy or soda enthusiasts. Their soda collection is extremely diverse and HUGE.

I use to have Rocket Fizz at my local mall but it closed down. I love this company! They had English candy that I love. BUT, its only 60 cents in England to buy a chocolate bar, and $ 3 – 4 to buy a chocolate bar here… It’s San Francisco, and in a tourist spot… Anyways, if you walk in the way back, it smells like homeless urine. I wanted to look back there but I couldn’t stand the smell. The staff is really friendly, the place smells of urine.

This is a really cool shop. Lots of unique items, and crazy flavored sodas. Tons of flavors of taffy.(sadly I paid much more for taffy down the street with limited flavors). Really cool place

While wandering around Fisherman’s Wharf, and the surrounding shops, we stumbled upon Rocket Fizz and couldn’t resist taking a peak. It’s a wonderful little shop that you will enjoy, I promise! Décor: It’s a small shop but is pretty deep(both physically and merchandizically — yes, I did just make up that word). Upon first entering you see nothing but the pop, every kind of pop you can imagine. However, this isn’t the normal brand name stuff, it’s mostly brands you’ve never heard of before. That is just setting the stage for the rest of the shop that contains metal signs(that are fun) and nearly every kind of candy you remember from your childhood. Everything is displayed nicely and in such a manner that you cannot help but buy something(or several somethings). Staff: Both workers were friendly and more than happy to engage in conversation. Nice people here. Food/Drinks: Likes I said, they have pretty much every kind of pop you can imagine(mostly non-brand name) and every kind of candy you remember from your childhood. They also have a huge selection of taffy and it’s all wonderful. Value: While it’s easy to spend a small fortune here, the individual prices themselves are not that inflated(given the physical location…). I really liked this little shop and hope it’s getting enough business to stick around for my next visit to San Francisco.

Time: 2:27pm/68°F sunny Purpose: Checking over my notes for past business inquiries. RF came in question when I saw wooden boards came off windows. Set-up: Located in the heart of fisherman wharf area along the main drag of Jefferson street. RF is actually shared with three other business with Joe’s Crabshack being the most famous. Upon walking up, theres no doubt that it’s a candy shop. From front to back its fill with candy and soda pop. Some old school nostalgic signs dating back at least 100+ years, but the signs are modern. It’s just made to seem like a turn of century. Bins and bins of candies everywhere you look. Especially the salt water taffy. Every flavor imaginable is there. The more you walk, the more you’ll be curious to see if you can recall your experience. Staff: Two girls around high school senior year just doing their assigned task. Warm welcome with a greeting as soon as they see you. I didn’t have to ask what was what, as shop is self guided fill basket and pay method. However, I did have a question about taffy whether its sugar-free or not. One gal came over told me they’re not, I ask are samples allow? She said for $.15 yes you may. Went ahead pay $.45 for three flavors, but wasn’t interested in any after that. Cleanliness: Grade A, clean throughout the shop. All merchandise are categorized in their perspective theme of interest. Most importantly no open packages or wrappers found on ground. A shop like this will bring out the crazy kids. Eats/Drinks: Bottle of Boyland root beer soda and roll of Necco wafers. Soda was not your average root beer from A&W or Mug. This brand utilizes cane sugar making it somewhat a natural taste. I like the root beer just wish there was a scoop of vanilla to go with it(root beer float). Necco wafers are my childhood choice of candy. Virtually fat-free candy with non-sticky pieces no matter how you store them. It’s really no difference than a carton of Valentine’s heart candies. Same ingredients use just different form, shape, and size. Other than that nothing else can be said, it’s a candy shop with all things sweet. Main Features: Bottle/can soda pops of every flavor from old school licorice to modern bacon chocolate flavor. Products/Services: Gummy, jelly bean, powder, rock, sour, sweet and other forms of candies available etc. Toys, gifts, humorous, adult, kids, retro, old school, comic, seasonal, year-round, special occasion etc. Take plastic(no minimum). Punch Lines: Fisherman Wharf, touristy, main drag, new, fun, lively, décor leaves something to desired, eye poping choices, drool-worthy, mega size shop, family environment, zippy service, sweet tooth, kids to adults, price accordingly to area specs, fun staff, all things candy, well-stacked, clean, no samples, per item or per fill bag. Tradeoffs: Offerings are gear for tourist and adults, than for a kid with one dollar to his allowance. Reliving childhood shouldn’t be pricey with that much mark up. Final Thoughts: This takes me back to when I was little kid running around in the Sunset. Yep, picture me in jeans, suspenders, little league all-star ballcap, converse shoes, sling shot, bazooka bubble gum, and marbles in pocket. When Saturday morning come, I would sit at dinner table with feet swaying back and forth. My parents would drop off $ 5 for me and my brother. We say«thank you», and zip back to our room grab skateboard heading out to nearest candy shop. There wasn’t a dull moment in my childhood. As I grow older, I realized too much candy isn’t good. Since then, I’ve cut back on my Now & Later and Abba Zabba favorite. Good thing I’ve always brush my teeth religiously, if I didn’t, I would’ve cavities all over.
