Revive CPR

Roy is awesome! I’ve been meaning to write him a good Unilocal review for a while.
I’ve done two CPR/​BLS courses with him, a complete in-​person course and a hybrid in-​person/​skills-​check course. I appreciate the email reminders, the repeat-​customer discounts, and the complimentary keychain (it includes a face mask for rescue, because you never know when you’ll need to do CPR)! And of course, in-​person, he is a great teacher. He is super friendly, kind, pays attention to detail, and his class doesn’t drag on – he uses every minute well.
I did a bit of shopping around and Revive CPR came out to the cheapest prices in the city. Next time I need to renew my CPR/​BLS certification, I’ll definitely be going to Revive!

I took the BLS CPR class with Anthony and was pleasantly surprised with how painless the process was. I have taken CPR classes before for work and they are always extremely tedious and boring. Anthony made the class enjoyable with his humor and easy-​going attitude. He took time to explain concepts in detail. His interest in the medical field and in teaching is apparent. I would recommend taking the class with Revive CPR if you need a CPR license.

Roy from revive cpr is an excellent instructor. He is super educated, engaging and efficient. The class ratios are brilliant. I will definitely being returning to renew my bls. I highly recommend this place!

This is the best CPR class I have taken, hands down. Roy is super friendly and helpful. He teaches is a clear way that is not intimidating. I actually pay to renew my cpr with him than taking it for free at work!

Roy Gordon of Revive CPR provides top notch Heartsaver CPR/​AED training in a focused, professional, comprehensible manner. He is serious about teaching the life saving CPR skills and delivers the information clearly and simply with an emphasis on repeated hands on practice drills.
Roy answers all questions completely and pays close attention to each student. He has the assurance and expertise of a seasoned EMT but he teaches from the heart. Short videos, CPR mannequins, AED devices and whiteboard bullet points seamlessly enhance the training.
The strictly utilitarian Townsend Street location is easily accessible via public transit, but Roy will do off site training for your small group. Tea, snacks and breaks made the two and one half hours comfortable and pleasant.

Roy was a great instructor and I really enjoyed my BLS for Healthcare Professionals class. Most of the people in my class were there for their renewal, but I didn’t feel that the class moved at a faster pace because of that. Roy really took the time to make sure I was understanding everything which I appreciated. The free bottled water, free snacks and coffee were a nice touch. He gave us a few breaks for coffee or the bathroom which were also appreciated. Definitely recommend this place and I will be back for my renewal in two years. Thank you, Roy!

I enjoyed my cpr class today with Roy. It didn’t feel like a classroom environment to me with the bright lighting, but rather a therapeutic yellow light, and I absorbed the information much better along with laid back teaching style by Roy. He cared about us and wanted us to learn so we can rescue people. Cheap for sf standard.

I loved this CPR/​BLS class. The class size was small, and we received a lot of individual attention. Roy has a laid back, relaxed style and is very approachable. All my questions were answered, and I left the course feeling more confident than when taking the class at another local venue. I highly recommend Roy’s training! Note that he is now on Townsend near CalTrain, not in North Beach.

Just left my BLS for healthcare professionals skills portion a Revive CPR. I was a little nervous since it was my first time taking the class but Roy was an absolutely wonderful teacher. He was clear, patient and friendly and the testing environment was interactive and relaxed. I never felt stupid for asking questions and feel confident that I can provide CPR in an emergency situation after an hour with Roy. I would 100% recommend taking Revive CPR with Roy to anyone looking to get certified or re-​certified.

Two years flew by and I needed re certification. Revive CPR’s Sunday morning class started early (9am) so there was barely any traffic from San Jose and I arrived in record time from the peninsula. There was free and convenient street parking right out front. I even got a $ 10 return customer discount! Thanks again Roy for a great course. Also, tip: save a bunch of time on your re certification and take the AHA online exam before you go here for the skills test portion.

I just needed to recertify for work, so i wanted a short, inexpensive class. This class was shorter and less expensive than the other guys in SF that i used last time. And unlike the other place, i could pay online — i didn’t have to bring cash or a check (who uses checks?). Parking was free since it was Sunday, and Roy seemed organized and clear. I’d use them again.

Roy was a great instructor. No issues signing up for class. Will almost certainly go to same place for renewal!

I just completed my CPR/​AED in the new San Fran location near AT&T park. Roy was awesome and super cool! He makes the training fun and interactive. You don’t sit around the entire time watching a lame video or anything like that. It is truly hands on and he makes the time go by quickly.
Highly recommend Roy and Revive CPR! Plus you get a free emergency mask key chain. :)

I have been CPR certified for the last 25 years. It has always been required and I have never given much thought to the class. My job has almost always provided an instructor and 50+ plus of us would cram into a classroom and they would start spewing info at us. There would be people in the back reading magazines or talking. It drove me nuts.
I no longer work for a big company but I wanted to keep my training current and certified so I went in search of someone local. My main concern was convenience because I truly expected to be herded like cattle into a class where I could barely hear the instructor and if I was lucky I might get a few seconds on a dirty, and stinky mannequin.
Boy was I in for a shock! Roy greeted me before I even walked into the door. The class was small and very hands on. He offered frequent breaks if they were needed. He provided water bottles and quickly answered all our questions. Each attendee had their own mannequin, so I actually feel more proficient in the action part of it and not like I just have some head knowledge.
It’s simple, whether you need to take a CPR class for work or not, EVERYONE should know what to do in an emergency! Take the couple of hours, invest the few $ and get it set it up with Roy!
I know that in 2 years when my card is about to expire I will not be dreading having to attend this class again!
One last note, I purchased an extra book before class and during the class Roy promised he would refund it. I received an email from paypal within a few hours, he had already taken care of it! This wasn’t even a mistake on his part… You can’t find customer service like that!

I have been an RN for many years and this was by far the best CPR renewal course I have taken. It was easy to sign up and the class was offered at Fort Mason where there is plenty of parking. I chose the option to do the online exam and then the skills check. It was great! The class itself was the perfect balance of information and practice. Roy is a great teacher and very friendly and supportive, he even brought us bottled water and energy bars! I will be highly recommending him to my colleagues and friends, and anyone else looking for a first-​time or renewal CPR course.

Paid $ 67, Popped up at the fort mason center. Quick speedy CPR/​AED re/​certification course. Roy is a pretty knowledgeable instructor, makes you feel at home and is confident in his ability to convey his knowledge on the topic at hand. On top of that, he’s pretty generous, bought the entire class of 5, coffee and snacks, I’m cool with that.
Learn the necessaries, get in, get out and go save a life!

I was dreading my BLS CPR renewal but this experience was great! The class was $ 67 for 3 hours. I paid $ 80 at another company in the past and it was a jam packed class for 4 hours. Roy was absolutely wonderful and made the class fly by! The class sizes are small (mine had 6 people) and you get personalized time with the defibrillator. Plus you get cute keychains with simplified CPR masks inside!

First, the teacher Roy is nice, and I feel a little bad giving a less than stellar review, but I want to provide honest information that will be useful to others considering taking the course or accepting a card earned in it.
The website for the course states that there is free parking at all locations. It surprised me that free parking would be available at the North Beach class, but I signed up. The confirmation email advised us to arrive early to have time to look for street parking and that there would be a break in the middle of class if anyone needed to feed a meter. When I asked Roy about this, he said he would reimburse me $ 8 if I had to park in a lot, but I knew I wouldn’t feel comfortable asking for that, and I felt the advertising was somewhat dishonest. (I checked before writing the review, and the site still says free parking.)
My husband and I lucked out and found free two-​hour street parking about 4 blocks away from the classroom. We arrived a little before the scheduled start time of 1 PM, joining three other people. One person registered for the class had not yet arrived, and Roy telephoned her to find out where she was. When he determined that she was more than ten minutes away, he told her she would need to reschedule because he couldn’t keep everyone else waiting (which I appreciated) but that, not to worry, he would make sure she could keep her certification in the meantime so she wouldn’t lose her job.
I felt the child/​adult CPR and choking training went well. There were only five of us and enough individual instruction and practice. This part was finished around 2:45. My husband and I were the only ones who needed infant certification, so he sent us to a conference room with infant mannequins and instructions while he chatted with some of the other students. I came out to get his attention about 5 minutes later, since he knew that we needed to get back to our car within two hours. He sped us through the infant training and then gave us our cards. He remarked that it said we had passed the written test (even though we had not taken one) but that the questions were ones we had answered orally. Again, this struck me as not 100% honest — following the spirit, rather than the letter, of the requirements.
I am a teacher who insists on strict rigor and honesty in my classroom, especially from myself, so he is not my ideal teacher, although less exacting students might find him perfectly satisfactory, especially if they are able to walk or take public transportation.

Roy was a fantastic instructor and extremely friendly/​personable. I took the CPR/​AED training as it is a pre-​requisite for CPT certification. The course provided me with everything I need to know about CPR/​AED and how to properly administer both. While I hope to never encounter an emergency situation, I will know that I am much more well-​prepared having taken this course. I suggest taking this course even if you don’t have a testing/​educational requirement as it is simply good knowledge and you never know when it will help you save another’s life.
I took the class on Bowers Ave in Santa Clara, CA (basically on Great America Pkwy near AMC Mercado). The facilities were clean, the dummies were in good shape, and the space was sufficient to accomodate all 3 class participants and we each received a bottle of water, which was nice with all of the breaths you’ll be administering to your test dummy. The 4^th student decided to be a no-​show that day. Highly recommend Roy’s class as he is genuinely nice and made the class enjoyable.
