We mobilize teams of volunteers to repair homes, renovate community facilities, and revitalize neighborhoods in San Francisco. Our events are great team building activities and help companies engage their employees in community service.

History

Established in 1989.

Over the last 22 years, roughly 45,000 volunteers have renovated more than 1900 homes and 275 community and nonprofit facilities in San Francisco, affecting tens of thousands of our city’s residents – from residents of Single Room Occupancy hotels to nonprofit employees, from Head Start children to seniors. Hundreds of companies and community groups have supported the work we do with financial and in-​kind resources.

Volunteering with RTSF has been an extremely rewarding experience. After six years of working with the organization as a construction captain, I can say that they truly make an impact on the community. It’s amazing what can be accomplished in a single-​day service project on Rebuilding Day! I highly recommend giving of your time and talents to RTSF.

My first RTSF event was in October of 2011. It started me on a journey to help fellow San Franciscans and connect with the community. Over the last few years I have been blessed with getting to know some pretty amazing people through various activities RTSF has put together. I would highly recommend coming out for a volunteer day in April to see what it is all about.

I’ve been involved with Rebuilding Together San Francisco for many years and have always felt very warmly and positively toward the organization and the people I’ve met through it. RTSF does amazing work year round including two big annual Rebuilding Days in April and October. It’s amazing to see the way they positively affect the lives of elderly, disabled, and low-​income homeowners by helping them to stay in their homes safely.

My husband, the great photographer that he is, volunteered his services for 2010 Rebuilding Together, SF. He was assigned three sites, all in Hunters Bayview Point. I drove; he shot, pictures that is. Over 400 total for the 3 sites – a home, a group home, and Thurgood Marshall High School. Every one at all sites worked very hard and were happy to be doing it. There was good food at all sites (these people eat well). Hubby also went to the after work party at the pier and said the food there was good too, along with the camaraderie among the attendees.

I’ve been associated with Rebuilding Together SF for over 15 years. I was their program director for 3 of those years, and not continue to volunteer with them because I believe in what they are able to do. What a great staff and what great people in their volunteer network! They truely care about the people that they provide services to. Orlanda is an incredible person with great compassion and extremely elequant. She is a licensed contractor and could make buckets of money working anyware, but her heart is with this incredible non-​profit.
Whether you have construction skills or not, this is a wonderful place to donate your money, time, and materials. I will continue to volunteer with them as long as I am able.

An shockingly amazing group of people in one space at one time.
Whose hearts are only nearly matched by the size of my appetite when you guys pull the burrito truck up to the Pier building for me.. .. errrr I meant for all the volunteers.
This is a great program that fixed income seniors and families unable to completely help themselves due to the curveballs of life? I’ve been volunteering with the SF chapter since Fall 2002.
This place has driven me the best kind of crazy. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to put a lot of smiles on so many people’s faces.
