This review is long overdue. Eyebrows, we all have em we all hope to love em. some of us have twins others have cousins and some look like the ugly step sister (analogy of eyebrow sets). Whatever the case might be the struggle of finding a good eyebrow spot is Real! Throughout the year of 2015 i made it my mission to find a good eyebrow spot. I, like many people took to Unilocal.Saw raving reviews on locations high and low on the spectrum. From anastasia Beverly Hills, benefit brow bar to nail salon locations. i have received service from all and came to realize the best eyebrows have been shaped by the one and only Rani. Shes amazing. She pays attention to what you ask for. Thick, thin, clean up, long, she listens to what you tell her while at the same time doin what she knows works with your brows. No makeup, no shading in or stencil used she truly works magic. Threading can cut as ive seen some examples but that quickly heals with Vaseline. Not only does threading provide a crisp look but hairs grow back much slower then when brows are waxed. Ive been here over 7times and have always regretted when ive opted out for higher end locations. This is my spot! Shes awesome!

Rani knows her trade; clearly she’s been shaping brows for years. Prices are competitive too. Highly recommend.

I am accustomed to paying $ 4 to get my eyebrows threaded at Heena Salon in Richardson, Texas. So I’ve been shocked by the threading prices in SF, but I’ll live. I called Rani at 11 am on a Saturday morning and she said she wasn’t busy, come on down. Well, I happen to be married to the tardiest girl on god’s green earth, so we arrived about 12:30. It was PACKED. We snatched ourselves some folding chair right outside the door. After about 20 minutes, I noticed other new-​comers writing in a book. Holy shiz, there was a sign-​in sheet and I didn’t know! So we got put three or four people behind because of this oversight. Wish there was a sign letting you know to sign in. We waited almost an hour.
The threading was pretty good, I should’ve communicated a little bit more that I was trying to grow my overplucked brows out a bit, because she just cleaned up around where the previous threader had overplucked them so they’re still thinner than I’d prefer. But my wife’s brows looked really good. Rani has definite attention to detail.
This is a no-​frills place, but it looks quite sanitary. Everyone always questions cleanliness when a place is in a lower income area or there aren’t a lot of amenities.

I went the first time because of the good reviews on Unilocal.I even went back a second time to be sure the first one could just be a rare occurrence but I am wrong. Don’t get me wrong. Rani does a great job. She’s thorough, using a magnifying glass after the threading is done to pick out stray brows. The threading itself feels almost painless, to be honest. And it costs only $ 10 to get my brows and upper lip done. But both times, my eye lids and the areas around my brows felt sore as though Rani has threaded some skin off at the same time. It was clear she did as the next day, there were open cut wounds around my brows. It was dreadful.

Awesome considering how cheap it is. Rani’s a sweet lady and it’s been fun watching her business evolve :) if you want your brows thick, be sure to let her know.

The price is definitely one of the lowest you’ll find in SF ($ 7) but I wasn’t very happy with my eyebrow. If I could rate one eyebrow 4 stars and the other 1 star, I’d do that, but I cannot in good faith give it more than 2 stars.
Although she uses a magnifying glass, my eyebrows were still visibly uneven. I get that they’re not supposed to be identical, but the base of my eyebrows had been even beforehand should have stayed that way. She also left odd bald spots and overplucked areas, and tweezing isn’t even good for eyebrows because you get ingrown hairs, so I’d recommend going somewhere else where they stick to traditional threading.
I moved from NYC, where I had a place in Queens I loved, and this is my first attempt at threading here. I hope the next place I try. has better results.

Unfortunately I need to give this place 1 star. The lady messed my brows and left a bold spot in one and even after a month the hair hasn’t grown yet. Even most important, the place lacks hygiene on my opinion. Simply not worth it. I will not return here.

Cheap and thorough what else could you want from an eyebrow place. I am Indian and super particular about my eyebrows so trust me when I say this is the place to go

I’ve been coming to Rani for over 2 years and she messed up a couple of times but nothing huge. HOWEVER, this was horrible. She was talking while doing my eyebrows and I knew she wasn’t even paying attention to what I was asking for. I was so mad at her because she kept on threading them knowing that she had already messed them up. As soon as I got the mirror and her saying «yessssss» I thought oh well it ain’t as bad. But, holy crap! They were a mess (still are) it’s been almost 3 weeks and the bold spot won’t grow. I shouldn’t have paid for the horrible service. She didn’t even had the courtesy to apologize.

Been here 3 times now. It took me a while to get Rani’s style as she doesn’t over exaggerate eyebrows like most Indian places. If you want a simple cleanup she will give you that and a bit extra threading — so you have to let her know «not thin» if you don’t want thin eyebrows. She makes my eyebrows look natural and with a slight arch. She takes her time making sure both eyebrows are similar. So be prepared to wait a while. Her thread does not hurt! As compared to other places where my eyes are watering and I have red skin. She is kind and always cheerful. She takes credit card too which is awesome!!!

Rani threads is the best deal for Threading in San Francisco! It’s $ 10 for both upper lip & eye brows. After coming here, I didn’t need to do any tweeting with my brows & lip for about a month or so Cuz she’s so precise. Also when she does the upper lip, she does the bottom one too so it clean & even. The issue with this place is that since she’s famous & cheap, she has a following that makes you wait in line if you come around 4 or 5pm. She says she’s best free when it’s in mornings or lunchtime which is something I will definitely do someday soon.
On a side note, you pay for her fantastic threading skills & not for the ambiance of a salon or fluff like candy. If you’re really anal about that stuff then do think twice Cuz you’ll be there waiting to get threaded.

Best threading place in the city. She is always so sweet. I get many compliments every time I get my eyebrows threaded from here. She responded right away when I called for an appointment. Threading eyebrows is so much better than waxing. Love the way she shapes my brows.
All those people writing bad reviews is because of their lack of communication. If you see hair, you let her know so she can take care of it. You don’t go home and write a bad review. After all, she’s human. There’s a reason for all her good reviews and the long lines at her place.
She told me not to pluck because it ruins the brows. She always has great beauty tips. $ 7 is so cheap compared to those places in malls. And she does a way better job than those people at the mall. It’s a steal for that price. I will definitely go back to her again. Highly highly recommend this place.

I just wanted to write an update. It’s been almost 1.5 years and the eyebrow that she messed up on still has a bald spot because hair won’t grow back there. :(
Go to Bebe. You can make appointments and she does a really good job. Only downside is that it’s a lot more expensive. But do you really want to risk a bald spot for the rest of your life?!

About 4 years ago, I decided to get my eyebrows done. I was scared to get my eyebrows waxed because I heard that the pain was much worse, so I opted for threading. Plus, it was pretty cheap at just 5 $, which you can’t beat. I decided to go to Rani, without any idea what so ever of her work. She didn’t ask me how I wanted my eyebrows, she just did her magic and BAM! Amazing eyebrows. Now 4 years later, and I continue to get my eyebrows done by her. The price now is 7 $, but still cheap in comparison to other places. Also, she has fixed my horrible plucking mistakes plenty of times. I just can’t thank her enough. I honestly find threading to be more precise than waxing, and though the pain seems the same to me, I prefer threading way more.
This place is more of a walk in and get your eyebrows threaded than making an appointment, which I don’t personally mind, but be prepared to wait 15 – 40 minutes if you are not the only person in the room, just saying.

First time having my brows threaded and it looks awesome. She listened to what I wanted which was a clean up and also suggested to shape the arch of my brow a little more so that it thins gradually from the beginning to the end. After threading, she used a tweezer to help get rid of the little hairs. Loved the experience. Some said it would hurt, but it’s better than tweezing!

Oh Rani, you have my heart. Just moved to SF and haven’t threaded my brows for about six weeks. Though I’ve always loved channeling my inner Frida Kahlo (kidding I don’t have a unibrow but would rock it w pride if I did), and am a lover of big bushy brows (and admittedly, a hater of thin Edith Piaf looking ones) so it was time to do something to tame these beasts.
My dilemma, however, was my vast admiration for #BROWSONFLEEK led to some deep-​rooted trust issues with brow ladies in general. Here I was at this random salon in the middle of this mall in the Mission thousands of miles away from the lady I’ve gone to for years in New York and I was about to trust my favorite feature in my face to a woman I never even met .le sigh… so much drama, so much suspense!
As I’m sitting on my chair, I kept one of my legs extended out in lunge form just waiting for the perfect opportunity/​last minute instinct to kick in so I can make a run out from the door. I started texting my best friend back home about this dilemma and because she didn’t respond until I was in the chair seconds away from facing my destiny, I ended up meeting the wonderfulness that is Ms. Rani who kept listening to me annoyingly and repetitively telling her to only get rid of small hairs and take out the minimal hair possible and keep my brows thick. I have no idea how she was so patient bc I can be very anal about this topic.
She started with my right brow (which is my good brow) and was pretty fast to the point that I freaked out and thought she may have taken out too much. again, the trust issues kicked in so I asked her to pause and show me the progress and she does and I was blown away by how clean and thicker they look. Apparently, she said that when she takes a bit off from the side, it makes them look thicker.
Two minutes later, donezo. I was out of there happy as can be and also, she takes card ya’ll! She pulled out her square app and did her thing. Damn Rani, you go girl and you have my heart. err, I mean, my brows.

Great place! Only $ 7.
I took a star off because the only thing that sucks is the wait. I had to wait about an hour. She should take appointments.

I came here on my way to work because off all the good reviews (would’ve normally never stopped here). Place is easy to miss as the other reviews already mentioned.
I was greeted by her while she was on the phone and told to sit down, she stayed on the phone for the first 2 minutes of the threading, which I didn’t like at all, but fine. What can I say for $ 7?
There was no line and I was the only customer.
She didn’t ask how I wanted them done and I didn’t tell her. I thought I’d trust her seeing how I had drawn them and just to get the hair around and between the brows.
My eyebrows ended up thinner than expected which I can’t complain too much about. I didn’t tell her and you can barley see my blonde eyebrows anyways, so if threaded or not, I have to colour them in.
She missed a couple of really obvious da hairs which i had to get out with tweezers at home but got all the small and annoying ones, which is great.
She was fast and did a good job. Next time I’ll bring her a picture or describe what I’m looking for.
Good spot to go to when you’re around and don’t wanna spend too much.

Its a small, hard to find place but its always the little hole in the walls that end up being the best places. She’s super nice and super precise. She threads it then uses a magnifying glass and some tweezers just to make sure everythings right. She’s also always very careful. I’ve been here a handful of times and I have never left disappointed. I usually end up cleaning some of the leftover areas of my eyebrows with a tweezer after getting them threaded but she does that for you! Great place and it’s only $ 7 for brows!
Tips:
— the place is small so theres only about 4 chairs inside
— be careful with wearing makeup because sometime it does end up smudging
— theres a bathroom all the way in the back, just ask
