Rachman Chung, DC, DACNB, FACFN

Rachman has been incredibly helpful with getting rid of my vertigo, and taking care of my lower back pain.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chung’s for several years. Dr. Chung is a real healer. I am active, 61, and have the normal ups and downs of most aging baby boomers; aches and pain in my feet, shoulders, back, and most recently a reoccurring case of vertigo. Dr. Chung is very knowledgable about explaining what the cause of the injury and very competent at fixing it. He is kind, professional, thoughtful, and fun to work with. In fact, I managed a large call center in San Francisco, and at one of our staff meetings, I hired Dr. Chung to come and do a lecture on injuries that are common for people who sit at computers all day. He was a very big hit! I think the thing that distinguishes Dr. Chung (and his colleagues) is that he looks at the entire physical, neurological system of the person, rather than just crack a bone. I highly recommend Dr. Chung!!!

I am an athlete that has spent the last several years in pain. I never wanted to rely on going to a chiropractor to fix my ailments, but with my list of injuries; broken back, foot, wrist, neck pain and now in the last year needing shoulder surgery, it was time to reach out for help. I can’t say enough about Rachman’s understanding, professionalism and ability to heal. I recently had a SEVERE muscle spasm going from my upper neck to left shoulder blade which was causing a dull pain and numbness in my left arm and was literally in agony. After my first appointment, I was back on the move and mobile again. He also explained to me about the physiology, my body and what was happening — where one part of my body was compensating for the other that was actually causing the problem. Thank you!

Dr. Chung is brilliant. I’ve learned more from him then my medical doctors. His office is like «Minority Report» technology for rehabilitation. Better than that — he really cares. Thank you for helping me all the times I hurt.

so we all know the phrase «walk with my head held high». After my accident, I was walking with my head shrugged low for two reasons — my lack of self confidence from losing part of myself (brain trauma) and from injuries sustained. Dr. Chung provided such excellent care in rehabilitating me in office and out of office that I can now walk with my head held high, thanks to those effective head and neck exercises in combination with his magical touch… no…seriously…the dude is a wizard when it comes to a compassionate, warm, and healing touch. It’s like Deepak Chopra took some of his healing words and put them magically in Rachman Chung’s amazingly well skilled hands. He also has top of the line equipment and machines, one of which I call «the silver surfer machine» that helped get my back muscles back into better balance.
And get this, the physician I saw for my broken leg from the same accident told me my leg healed fine, and that I might have pain when I get older. Well, how wrong was he. Rachman noted how much pain I was always in and had me take x-​rays in his office and the bone looked like a twisted mass of blech. After we found this out, he added this cool laser technology thing to our regimen and after each use on my leg, it felt better. Who says you need those nausea inducing pain killers, right?
Rachman also did some brain magic with me, and with his help I was off all of the anti-​anxiety meds I was taking since the hit and run drunk driver accident that left me with a concussion, broken leg, jacked up ribs, you get the idea. Every once in a while when I’m in the car with a crazy driver I still have to take em, and I still can’t watch any car accidents on the news or even the movies without tearing up just a little, but I have made much progress thanks to Rachman’s help. He’s a really cool guy, so anyone with anxieties in being touched by others (proximity issues) or with doctors or chiropractors in general, I would suggest he be the man you go to. You will understand this completely by the wash of calm you get when you meet him.

I wish that more doctors and health care pro’s would make an appt with Dr. Chung to learn what kind, compassionate, comprehensive patient care is all about. I’ve gone to Dr. Chung for years and he impresses me in every visit with his knowledge, the time he takes to explain what he’s doing and why and his ability to fix things I didn’t even know were broken. I recommend him to everyone I know.

I can’t say enough good things about Rachman. I ruptured a disc in my neck a few months ago and sustained a spinal lesion — super scary injury.
Rachman is totally committed to his practice, and his knowledge of neurology and the movement of the body is profound. The combination of adjustments, laser therapy, PT, eye exercises, Feldenkrais, supplements and nutrition guidelines provided to me by Rachman have been excellent and have brought me to a much more healed place.

i had my first visit with rachman chung and i am really looking forward to the treatment plan we (he) devised for me. i have never been to such a thorough, honest, patient and informed dr before. i was impressed by his knowledge and his holistic approach to the body. i went in to see him because my neck hurt, i came out feeling hopeful and willing to look at many other the aspects of my body and life, and treat them as a whole. chiropractic adjustments, active release, brain and pain connection, heart history, depression, exhaustion, allergies„ nutrition… all of it was considered when talking about my neck!!. stay tuned, i think im gonna have some really great news about my pain.

I had a nagging hip problem that was never too big of an issue but was always there. I started seeing Dr. Chung because his girlfriend actually came in to see me for a massage. I was looking for a new chiropractor in SF, I had one in Los Altos that I would see occasionally but am always looking for someone in SF to refer clients as well as see myself. Anyway, I saw Rachman once a week for 6 weeks and felt that it really improved my hip problem. He did a lot of ART (Active Release Technique) on my hip which was great. I feel like he was the first chiropractor to really isolate the small muscles that were a problem and work on those. He didn’t just do the usual ITB, Psoas work but got into the anterior TFL and the connection points on my ASIS which really helped. He recommended that I stop running for a while, gave me exercises to do on my own and really focused on the problem muscles. I have not had any problems with my hip in a few months now and I think the work Rachman and his recommendations helped a lot. I am hoping that continuing to see him will get me back running again eventually.

I’ve dealt with chronic neck pain over the years and have seen a lot of professionals for help. Dr. Chung is far and above the best. His kind and professional nature as well as his keen attention to detail instantly puts you at ease and lets you know that you’re in good hands.
He displays genuine concern for your health and well being and he seems interested to learn about you as a person and an athlete, not just as a patient. I’m not much of a jock myself, so I wouldn’t limit his appeal to only athletes, but his office does have a «sports wellness-​meets-​zen» vibe to it; which is quite pleasant, actually. His technique is very effective — I always leave feeling great.
I’m also moved by Dr. Chungs honestly. I’ve been to chiros who insist on very lenghty courses of treatment and I’ve always suspected those to just be a way to ensure consistent income. Dr. Chung is very open about the course of treatment that’s needed and he helps you ramp your appointments up or down with your best interests in mind.

I had a wonderful chiropractor in LA that I loved (Dr. Ashkan Jalili). When I moved to the Bay Area, Dr. Ash recommended that I see Dr. Rachman Chung. Well, thank goodness! Dr. Chung has been awesome.
Dr. Chung seems to have a lot of experience with athletes and their particular needs. He uses Active Release Technique (ART) in our sessions. I was unfamiliar with this style of treatment, but I really like it and it’s working out really well for me.
I’m a super active person, a cyclist, and Dr. Chung has targeted our sessions to my particular needs. He gives me good stretches and exercises that I can do on my own time to help compliment the therapy that I’m getting from him.
