Went with a certified classic — ramen burger with fries and a passion fruit black tea with honey boba and it was BOMB. Great service, friendly staff, and great food. How did I not realize this place was less than a block from my office until now?! Keep up the good work and great food R&B Café!

The ramen burger is okay, but the fries are a little bit dry and bubble are too soft.

Best breakfast burrito ever with seasoned potatoes. I like the veggie option one. I used to get one or two every week when I was taking classes upstairs. The people working there are soooo sweet and friendly. They also have $ 1 donuts and all kinds of instant ramen.

Nice little spot to get some breakfast in that area. I have only been there once and found it on Unilocal when I just happened to be parked across the street. Had the basic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. I was hungry and it hit the spot. If i’m in that area another morning I would hit it up again.

What I can’t figure out after a meal at R&B is this: why is a fast, cheap, tasty ramen shop in SOMA not packed at lunchtime? I went in at 12:40, and by 12:45 I was sitting down to a hot meal. The buffet and cafeteria style food might not be the most glamorous way to serve a meal, but it’s decent ramen. 6⁄10. Not the best ramen in the city, but my money is betting it’s the fastest by a long shot. You select the type of noodle/soup/toppings and it’s put together faster than you can pay.(Having no line and hot water going was certainly helpful)

Where else can you get a passport photo taken while waiting for a killer 2 for 1 ramen deal? Well, probably somewhere in Chinatown,…BUT regardless, the real value of the R&B Café experience lies in the overwhelming hospitality of their staff. R&B offers pretty solid burgers, a fairly extensive breakfast and lunch menu, and zero judgment when you patronize them twice within a three hour time span. I only wish that the ambiance played up the R&B name a bit more. It seem like a golden opportunity to create some inspirational, post-modern ramen and burger/rhythm and blues wall art. I’m inspired.

The ramen and the boba were just ok, but the price(2 for the price of 1) was awesome. So for the value, it was a decent place.

Awesome downtown(Soma) spot for diner food + breakfast + homemade ramen at any time. It’s a part American diner part Asian diner in one, so you can get ramen, ramen burgers, teriyaki burgers, teriyaki chicken, etc. While also getting classic American diner food. And you can order pickup or delivery on Eat24, awesome. I got the corn beef hash($ 8) with extra 2 sausage($ 2.25) for pickup and my food was done in 10 mins and delish. The corn beef was very good, omelette delish. Country potatoes were nice, but with they had hash browns(my true love). The sausage was a bit bland. Service was excellent(called me to confirm order and egg type) and I’ll definitely be back to try ramen bowls and maybe burgers(Eat24 pickup).

Came here to try the ramen burger. That’s right. Beef patty with ramen«buns” – noodles formed into circular shapes with soy-based sauce. Been wanting to try this for about 2 years now! It was about $ 10.50 for the burger with choice of fries or salad. Of course I chose fries… because a salad with a burger? Just didn’t sit right with me. Burger and fries came out in a reasonable amount of time. Fresh and super duper hot! The burger was wrapped around foil– yeah it was difficult to pick up right away(fingertips were on Fiyya!) Had to wait about 5 minutes before my phone was ready to get the first taste, lol. Bit into the burger and I was surprised. The ramen bun was lightweight crispy/crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I was expecting the texture to be slightly more hard. to the point where it would slightly scratch the roof of my mouth, but NEIN! The beef patty was juicy and overall the ramen burger was tasty and well seasoned. Toppings included tomato, cheese, green onions, and a bit of leafy greens. I think it would’ve been better if it had more leafy greens in it. Only saw 2 or 3 visible little purple/green salad leaves inside. The fries were good as well but wow, sodium overload. The salt game was too strong. I had to brush off a lot of crystals with a napkin. No bueno. The café is easy to spot, located on the corner of a big building and across from a Dim Sum restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Free wifi, but no visible outlets to charge your cellular device or lappy(I was looking for one because my phone was slowing dying). Staff were friendly and service was pretty good. Yeah, I’d come back: D They have a variety of breakfast food, burgers, ramen and tea to choose from!

I think I’ve discovered my new favorite lunch spot. I have been meaning to try this place as I pass by it often enough, but now I’m so glad I stopped by! Here’s the main thing: the staff here is SO friendly. I mean, that is, for sure, the one thing that is going to get me to come back. I had the ramen burger, which was good, but the service was so great and warm and friendly, and that’s what sticks out in my mind. I wanted to come for the corned beef hash, but they don’t have that at lunch. Now that I know their breakfast hours, I’ll be back for that. That may end up changing my review. I will definitely be back, especially since it counts as the new closest place where I can get boba… and in the morning. Oh. Snap.

Very unassuming, quiet place and pleasantly surprised by their food and service. Stumbled across here as I was working in the building next door and craved ramen. It was LITERALLY made in less than two minutes, cafeteria lunch line style. You can choose from several noodles(wheat/spinach/regular ramen or rice noodles), three veggies(mine included tofu), a meat, and broth(miso/tonkatsu) and it comes with an egg. Awesome selection and I was in and out in no time. All for around $ 8! The owners were very nice. This ramen was better than most I’ve had at food trucks for more money. The broth was spicy and very flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The meat was dry but overall was satisfied since their portions are huge(could only finish half).

Definitely a hidden gem. Broths range from mild miso soup to spicy garlic. It’s ready quickly, priced reasonably. Teriyaki Chicken is my favorite so far. It’s a little hard to spot from the road, but that means their huge patio is empty most of the time.

I was about to leave out of the state and realized my sons passport was expired! This place opens really early and you can print and take your passport pictures instantly! Works out great if you are getting to the Passport Agency early and need pics and prints!

Wandered in here on a whim & ordered the spicy garlic ramen. Really impressed! The portions are absolutely massive for 8 dollars(will feed me for 2 full meals) and the staff was very friendly. Worth stopping by; going to be trying their breakfast next!

This is a hidden place on Folsom street. I stopped by this place with couple of other friends from work to grab lunch. They serve good ramen and there are a lot of choices as well. It cost only $ 8.50 for my spicy garlic chicken ramen. They also serve burgers though I’ve never tried.

I’ve walked past this place many times, but never felt compelled to go in(it’s slightly off the street, on the ground floor of an office building). However, today, I walked by a menu board and thought I should go in and try a burger. The lady at the cashier was very friendly, and although the place somehow felt slightly disorganized(perhaps the abundance of people working there?), my food came quickly and was delicious(cheese burger and fries) and inexpensive.

This was more like 3.4 stars. The pork in the ramen was tasty, but the miso soup was too salty and the noodles were not as chewy as other places. The ambiance inside feels very cheap, but the outdoor seating is nice. Service was fast.

Keep in mind this isn’t going to be an out of this world experience. The food isn’t to die for but it’s definitely a café to go when you have no idea what to get for lunch but you need something quick. I work right across the street so I tried R&B café out. I ordered the breakfast sandwich on a whole wheat bagel. Sandwich came with egg, ham and amazingly gooey cheese. Total was about $ 5.70. There’s a bunch of food you can pick up from here which I think is pretty cool. If you’re not a super picky food snob, you’re hungry and can’t think of anything specific to eat, I would recommend trying this place out. The owner(I think) is the HAPPIEST guy so I added a star for that. I actually walked out in a better mood. Seeing as the rest of the reviews mention good service, I would imagine it’s pretty consistent. I want to try out the breakfast one of these days. It smelled pretty delicious.

It was one of those random lunches. Yes, one of those rare times when we felt adventurous and invincible. Turns out we weren’t invincible and are, in fact, vulnerable to bad ramen. The ramen was forcefully prepared in the Chinese-food-steam-table style. It just wasn’t right, and I think they’d do much better if they stuck with Chinese food instead of doing ramen. I feel a little bad because the owner was a nice guy, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
