Specialties
Psyched in San Francisco is a group of 14 psychotherapists providing modern psychotherapy, marriage therapy, parent coaching, and relationship counseling. Traditional psychotherapy often doesn’t take into account our modern busy lives, the sometimes non-conforming ways we live and love, economic and racial privilege, the politics and technology of the day and new unconventional and effective therapies like body-centered therapy.
To us, social context matters to our collective psychological wellness because we are not living in a vacuum.
As therapists we think, write and get active in our community because it makes us better therapists. Projects like Psyched in San Francisco Magazine and Sidewalk Talk are examples. Call us. Schedule 20 minutes with us. We know we can’t be a match for everyone and pride ourselves on making great connections with therapists outside of our center.
*Note On YELP Reviews*
We do not solicit our clients for YELP reviews. We know it is a trend but we are relational therapists and the State Board prohibits it. We encourage clients to consider their own confidentiality and treatment if considering writing us a review. We do LOVE reviews about our Magazine, however. We crafted some research and an article on reviewing your therapist which was covered by the SF Chronicle which you can find under our homepage reviews tab.
History
Established in 2013.
Psyched in San Francisco is a center of experienced psychotherapists who have come together to build a culture of well-being in the Bay Area by providing: state-of-the-art psychotherapy, a personalized online classroom, and a commitment to community wellness by taking therapeutic principles to the streets.
We are on a mission to do some hard-core consciousness raising about the benefits of psychotherapy in all its forms, from curing a short-term «mental flu», to diving into longer– term transformative «soul work». Going to see a psychotherapist has a proven return on investment and it is evidence of a person’s wisdom and health that they reach out for serious help to get better.
We join with the Bay Area’s progressiveness and activism by fostering community wellness. We believe that we can’t be all-the-way personally well if our community is not well. We want to be stewards of compassion and growth through our «Project Serve» movement.
Meet the Business Owner
Traci R.
Business Owner
Traci Ruble founded Psyched in San Francisco as a blog in the spring of 2012, leveraging her many years of high tech corporate sales and marketing experience to build some community in the therapy world by writing and thinking with other therapists. Traci’s vision for Psyched grew to include real-world activism when she began to wonder, «how can therapy reach people beyond the therapy room?» She started the OhMama! podcasts, the Faces Video Project and the Bring An Extra Sandwich Project.
