sorry to contradict, but do not like the plum trees at all. when they are not in bloom a few days a year, they are ugly — brownish red, nothing appealing — just cheap for the landlords to plant. their fruit is inedible and stain cars, passersby, etc. — not that I would rate cars over a beautiful tree. But these are not beautiful. To each his own, I guess. This is the only blossom tree that I don’t absolutely adore — I even prefer blossoms to flowers! Almond, cherry trees rate a 5++++ These, two stars for being living entities in a hard urban environment.

They are not cherry trees, so don’t be fooled. They are gorgeous though. I’m talking pinktastic springtastic goodness. This is one of the few sf trees that can turn a fighter into a lover. I think they’ve even turned a few straight men gay. The other is the magnolia tree, when sniffed. Ah, spring.
