Playland Preschool

Teacher Marina and her staff are the most amazing caretakers and educators I have met thus far.
For years, I’ve been interviewing and have even tried other preschool programs. What impresses me the most about Playland is Teacher Marina’s experience and education, yet she is very humble in her relationships with parents. She is always available to discuss each parent’s concerns about the students. Although I never thought I’d send my children to a home based preschool, I’m thrilled that I made the switch. Instead of my children being herded like cattle at the big «reputable» preschool that we were at, my children are now treated with loving-​kindness and attention. I feel that they are really now receiving a well-​rounded foundation that will well-​prepare them for kindergarten. Playland preschool is creative, fun, happy with great activities — just the kind of place I wanted for my little guy. Lots of hugs, manners, boundaries, singing, dancing, art projects, firm but gentle discipline, reading, planting, excitement and naps on cots. In the beginning I called a LOT to check up on him and his separation anxiety and never picked up a single negative annoyed vibe.
My son looks forward to going to school everyday and I can see why; they really pay attention to the kids and what they want/​need. The teachers have always been super nice and helpful and give us full reports on our son’s days; everyone just really does care about the kids.

This is an excellent preschool! Playland Preschool was a great school for our daughter, with play-​based learning and diversity of activities to encourage learning and growth. From her first day until her graduation, our daughter learned about arts, science, language and socialization. Marina Schmidt has developed a robust curriculum and utilizes a wealth of resources to keep learning fun. In addition to a comfortable and safe environment, Playland Preschool provides individualized attention and support to their students.
The special dietary needs of our daughter were not a problem and we were kept well informed on her strengths and challenges. We especially enjoyed the fact that Mrs. Marina encouraged family activities that would tie in directly to the learning at school. On a few weekends we took our daughter to Tide Pools and various other parks to support her learning experience. We always got to see how her outings with us were incorporated into her lessons.
We highly recommend Playland Preschool. Our daughter entered Kindergarten early and while she is the youngest in her class she is doing great and keeping up with (often exceeding) her older classmates.
