The dole with with mochi did not disappoint! The whip has a twang of tart right after the sweet which I loved. My family and I left happy and satisfied with the yumminess and service. We will be back again!

Pretty damn good dole whip ice cream in the Mission of all places. It was a bit of a trek to get out here but I’ve been really wanting to try this place so we made the drive out from the Sunset the day after Christmas. I don’t know how street parking is on a regular day but we found a spot right down the street around 6PM. I got the regular dole whip with mochi topping and the hubs got a dole whip float topped with Li Hing powder. The ice cream was on point, not too sour or sweet. My husband grew up in Hawaii and he even gave it a stamp of approval (you know locals are the hardest to please). Good amount of seating, decently sized for groups. The only knock on the place is that it’s a bit far for public transportation if you don’t live in the area.

Cute little hidden gem of a location a short walk from the Balboa Bart Station. It’s a small place with a few tables and cozy décor. The first thing I noticed was that the menu had a variety of items including the dole whips, acai bowls, and rice plates.
I decided to order a dole whip float with guava juice and li hing powder (extra topping +.50 cents) and a tuna poke plate… not bad… think I could do without the powder too but it does add a tangy spicy feeling. It tasted very refreshing with a strong pineapple flavor. The tuna poke was good and flavorful, but for $ 10 bucks I could do without it next time.
Service was friendly, but forgetful. The cashier called the wrong name for my order and forgot my friend’s dole whip.

i REALLLYYY wanna know where they get this crack Li Hing powder. You’ll wonder too once you taste it on top of your dole whip. It tastes a bit like tamarind, but milder, sweeter, tangy, salty? All at the same time.
Order the Dole Whip float and add pineapples! Last time i checked, you could get as much LI Hing powder with that. But if you just got the Dole Whip, it will unfortunately be 25 – 50 cents –_​_​_​_​_​– The Dole Whip float is the best bang for your buck bc they actually fill the whole cup, unlike if you just order the Dole Whip, where theres just a huge hollow section in the middle (check out my pics for reference).
Besides all that, the dole whip is freaking delicious. I never gone to Disneyland to try the original, or to Hawaii, but i’m pretty sure its close! There is really nothing that compares.
Their shaved ice is pretty damn good too. My friend went to Hawaii and he said it reminds him of there, ‘basically a taste of Hawaii in your mouth.’ They have soooo many flavors, which you can mix and match. It’s none of that shaved snow shit, there is flavor in every bite.
They also have some munchies you can buy, like rice plates and whatever. I havent tried them yet, but it smells pretty good when theyre making it. There arent too many chairs, just enough for a quick dessert and go. The décor is pretty cute though. They have little inspiration posters and its painted bright colors!
Parking in this neighborhood isnt that bad either! Its at the edge of the city, so theres not too many cars. Its located at a corner so dont miss it!

As many reviewers have already mentioned, Pineapples is the best place to get your fix of Dole whip in the bay. I ordered the dole whip float with guava juice that was topped with mochi ($ 4.50?).
One bite of the float and I felt island goodness, if that makes any sense at all. The guava complimented the Dole whip really well and the mochi helped balanced out the sweetness of the treat. I recommend this drink.
Since I only asked for one topping, I did not consider the drink to be overpriced. However, with each additional topping costing $ 0.50, I can see how things can quickly add up. Having just enjoyed a Dole whip float at Disneyland for $ 5.70, getting the Dole whip float here at Pineapples was a deal.

When you’re craving that Dole Whip, but your Splenda Daddy too broke to take you to Disneyland, there’s Pineapples!
Parking is like everywhere else in SF, difficult at times. The store is located on the corner of the street so it’s hard to miss. Inside is filled with eclectic decorations, but simple.
Their appeal is the Li Hing powder that you can add to your whip. And why would you not?! Their pineapple is awesome, but don’t neglect their guava option.
My main qualm is their inconsistency with the amount they give you. I’ve seen pictures posted on Unilocal of beautiful, fluffy pinnacles of Dole Whip, dusted with Li Hing. Must go. Take pic. DOZ IT FOR THE IG. Unfortunately my fluffy pinnacle was more like a melty mound, maybe ¾ths filled with whip and juice. My friends was the same way. It was not as picturesque as I had imaged. They could’ve filled it up more for sure. Maybe next time.

Yum! Am definitely a fan of this place. The only thing I wish about it is that it were easier to get to if you are in the city! This place is well know for its Dole Whip, which as many other Unilocalers have already raved about, is a popular pineapple soft serve esque thing that is apparently only served in Disneyland. It’s commonly topped with a Li Hing spicy powder. I was pretty pleased with this place. The dole whip is delicious, and they clearly have a monopoly since no one else sells this anywhere else.
The dole whip, for those of you who haven’t ever had it, is great. It’s smooth and creamy and pineapple flavored, and just a delicious cold treat on a beautiful sunny California day. I’m a huge fan. They also have a few other savory dishes and acai bowls and other snacks and what not. I wish it were more easily accessible in the city! But then I’d probably be here every day.

I came on a Sunday afternoon and there was no line at all? Score for me! Got the dole whip float with guava and it was super refreshing. The dole whip itself wasn’t too sweet, it had a nice frozen yogurt consistency. There’s no clear sign of this place from the outside other than a pineapple decal on the door.
Will definitely return!

I have to give them 5 stars because they were the only place I could find shaved ice in the city and they have Dole Whip. Woot! Total score. I have been here before but love it more now since returning from an amazing trip to Hawaii. I needed to satisfy my shaved ice craving and Pineapples was the only place who could deliver. And for that I’m forever grateful to them and will definitely be back many times over.
My son LOVES their dole whip floats with guava. It’s so good! I love getting the shaved ice with condensed milk because it adds that extra special touch. Parking can be pretty tough in this neighborhood but totally worth it once you get your hands on one of their sweet treats.

A little taste of the islands in foggy SF! Come here for the Dole whip and floats. The floats come with either pineapple or guava juice. Personally, I prefer the pineapple juice, because I find the guava too sweet.
They even have li hing powder to top it off!
My go-​to spot for Dole whip. Highly recommended!

Wow, amazing acai bowl. I went here to get an acai bowl because of the high Unilocal reviews instead of going to judahlicious where I usually get one. Of course, I had high expectations, and they were all fulfilled. I actually brought this acai bowl to my grandmother, who had never had one, and she loved it. The bowl contained acai berries, bananas and oats. This is also where I found out that the bowls can also come with coconut and other variables as well .
As I love all acai bowl and would probably have to give all of them five stars, this one deserves a five plus. I thought it was amazing. !!! I will definitely be returning the best places I’ve ever had and an acai bowl. They also made frozen blue ices that looked delicious as well.

OK, a little homage to Devo there and I’m already seeing some eyes rolling as my originality is probably rated at a ‘Made in China’ knockoff.
But this place is legit. We no longer have to go to Disneyland if we’re craving some Pineapple Dole Whip since Pineapples opened a few months ago. I actually read an article about this place and I immediately bookmarked it.
It’s also more than just Dole Whip as they also have Shaved Ice, Milk Teas, Floats, Coffee and Hawaiian breakfast all at an affordable price.

My love took me here and I swear I did not know they would have such a place that serves dole whip soft serve/​dole whip float in SF! Of course I’ve tried the ones at Disneyland and there is an ice cream place here in Sacramento that sells soft serve dole whip but it isn’t really great. This place tops everything!

Yes, it’s true. Dole Whip in San Francisco. No more travels to Disneyland or Honolulu to get a taste.
Pineapples is legit. Not only do they have soft serve, but there’s rice plates, shave ice, waffles and all sorts of treats from the island. Without sounding too much like a know-​it-​all haole, of course.
No waiting in line, no trouble parking outside. This summer weather is just begging for you to stop by and treat yo’ self.

The dole whip is refreshing — perfect for a hot day! Too much dole whip by itself can be overwhelming for me, so I add li-​hing powder (50 cents extra) for more flavor and spunk to the sweetness. I highly recommend it!
The place is small with a cute Hawaiian ambiance. Service is okay and seating is limited — big groups not recommended. Parking can be hard since it’s located in the corner of a random residential area, but it was easy every time I went. Their menu also has shaved ice, rice bowls, acai bowls, fresh juice, and sandwiches!
This is probably the closest thing to Disneyland’s Dole Whip in the area so check it out if you’re craving for some!

PINEAPPLE DOLE WHIP. IN SF. Need I say more? I recently came here to try out the dolewhip, and the week after I went down to Disneyland and had dole whip there. I preferred the one here at pineapples more. It was a little bit lighter than disneyland’s and slightly creamier. The taste was great. My only complaint was that it melted just a little too quickly. I had the dole whip float with guava juice and lihing powder. Definitely get the lihing powder, but skip on the guava juice. I would definitely come back here to try the shaved ice and Hawaiian rice plates! Location is just a bit out of the way and random.
They also sell Hawaiian snacks (spam and such) but it’s pretty limited.

Came here last Sunday and it’s a cute small place in the corner of the street.
There’s a lot on the menu actually from different drinks to different kinds of snacks, I was surprised. The workers were nice.
The girl told us it would take about 5 mins for our dole whip to be ready, but it didn’t even take 3. We got the dole whip with Mochi. The mochi was an extra 50 cents. I must say it reminds me A LOT like the one from Disneyland so that’s a major plus right there! It’s slightly more sweeter than the one from Disneyland though. But when we got ours it was already melting. I saw pics of the whip that wasn’t like mine, it was more frozen so my picture of it doesn’t look as nice. Presentation wasn’t there lol.
The place could get filled up fast and tables and chairs will go, so just a heads up that you might not be able to stay long. There IS wifi too.
I definitely will be back the next time I’m in SF to try other things.

I finally made it to Pineapples! I’m pretty much a novice when it comes to Dole Whip. Yes, I’ve never even had it at Disneyland and I’ve yet to go to Hawaii. With that being said, I have nothing to compare the Dole Whip at Pineapples to, which is actually a good thing because I really enjoyed it.
I ordered the standard Dole Whip (
) because I wanted to be able to taste it as-​is first before trying it again with added toppings. It was tangy and refreshing as people have described it to be.
I probably won’t come back to Pineapples anytime soon since it’s a little bit out of my way, but if I’m in the area I might stop over again. I’m interested in trying their rice plates and the Dole Whip Float. Based on my one visit though, it was a good experience.
