Perry’s

Perry’s was the only place near my hotel in San Francisco that was open for an early brunch last Sunday morning. My group of 7 got there a little before their 8:30am opening, and they seated us about 5 minutes before official opening but let us know they wouldn’t be able to take our drink or food orders until 8:30am. No big deal, we looked at the menu and decided what we wanted to order in the meantime.
Our server was very friendly, but unfortunately that is where the positive experience ended for me. The food and drinks were very slow, and the restaurant was not yet busy. When my breakfast came, the eggs, potatoes, and toast were all completely cold. I didn’t send it back because of the amount of time it took to get the food initially. I tried a Bloody Mary and it tasted like vodka and watered down tomato juice. The only garnish was a lemon.
Overall, it wasn’t the worst experience, but I wouldn’t go back.

A nice place for business meal.
Came here with coworkers for a business meal. Typical American food (If you get what I mean). This place is located near waterfront so very convenient for folks that work around here. I ordered the veggie burger (the right amount of food).

Great restaurant inside the Hotel Griffon when I came here for Sunday Brunch during the Martin Luther King’s holiday weekend. It wasn’t as crowded as I thought for brunch because there was no line, but people already eating and enjoying the game on TV. From outside the restaurant looks small, but since you enter from the Steuart side, you don’t Realize restaurant stretches to the back to face the Embarcadero waterfront side.
Waiter was nice and took our orders. Nice atmosphere where you can sit down to relax and have a nice conversation. I order the traditional eggs Benedict with potatoes and fruit which was good. One of my friend ordered two eggs any style that came with sausage that was really tasty! It was good portion and very hearty dish my pal ordered. My other friend orders the California Eggs Benedict which looked quite scrumptious! One friend ordered the Bloody Mary for $ 8 and I thought it was great if you enjoy that type of drink because it wasn’t thick like a tomato sauce, but more fluid and had good flavor.
I would definitely come back again and try their Monday special of half price burgers! Yum! Such a great deal! And might as well go for happy hour after a nice burger, am I right? I need to find more places with good food happy hour prices!

I had lunch here recently with some colleagues. We had good service and good food. We got there a little early but the hostess was able to seat us right away. We had a nice table near the window so we could look out at the Embarcadero and the piers.
We all had salads. Two of us had the Steak Salad — Grilled filet mignon, arugula, watercress, spinach, sauteed mushrooms & port vinaigrette. One had the cobb salad. I really enjoyed my salad. The dressing was tasty. Loved the mushrooms in it too. We also did a side of sweet potato fries. They were crisp on the outside, soft inside.
Definitely a great lunch spot in the Embarcadero. We took advantage of the $ 15 valet parking. Way easier than circling for a spot in a lot.

My girlfriend and I actually stopped in on New Year’s Eve, prior to seeing the fireworks. We were told that there was a 30min wait, or we could be seated outside immediately. We were assured there were space heaters out there, so we went for it.
It was a little chilly, but not terrible. The heaters they had were a little small for the space, and were placed between tables instead of over them (to try to cover more area with fewer heaters), which meant nobody outside was really all that comfortable, and the heat was more of a «tease».

Subpar food. Not terrible, nothing worth spending $ or time on. Great location but unjustifiably high prices. $ 8.50 for a bowl of fruit?
Had one waitress who was probably tired from serving everyone (about 15 people) but in general she was quite rude.
Overall, meh.

This is one of my go-​to lunch places. Their daily lunch specials are great! I had the prime rib sandwich (Wednesday lunch special). As others have said this is a fabulous sandwich. It’s an 8 oz perfectly cooked tender with just the right amount of fat. on a brioche bun served with horseradish sauce and mashed potato and gravy.
Previously I had the clam chowder which is one of the best I’ve had with lots of clams and rich broth.
My guest had the southwest salad which was huge. She ate the whole thing.
Service was attentive and helpful.

Great service but the food upset my stomach…
We wanted to grab a quick breakfast before we started our day of sight-​seeing so we asked our hotel concierge for a nearby recommendation. Since this place is right next to our hotel, we opted for the convenience.
Since we were visiting from out of town, we asked our server for a lot of recommendations and directions. She was most helpful, friendly and patient with all of our requests.
Unfortunately, our experience fell short after the service as the food did not deliver in quality. I had the crab cake Benedict with a side of roasted potatoes and fruit. The crab cake seemed old, too salty and small in portion. Great location but next time we will do our own research and find a better brunch spot for better quality food.

Un bon bar restaurant situé dans l’hôtel Griffon. Durant tout notre séjour à l’hôtel, on a vu un lieu toujours animé, notamment pour la partie bar. Il était un des rares lieux du quartier ouvert le dimanche soir. Tout en longueur, la partie bar et son comptoir mèné à la salle, puis à une petite terrasse avec quelques tables donnant sur le Bay Bridge (peut être un peu bruyant en journée avec la circulation, mais non testé).
Nous y avons déjeuner le samedi. Bien que le service soit fait correctement, les serveuses manquaient un peu d’entrain et jovialité. Nous avons pris un Grilled Chicken B.L.T. avec des chips (11.25 $) et un The Perry’s Burger avec des frittes (10.95 $). L’ensemble était bon. J’ai adoré avoir des chips en accompagnement !

Restaurante muy agradable. Servicio rapido y atento. Bocadillos y sandwich deliciosos! El Grilled filet Mignon sand esta riquiiiisimo.

First let me say if it were only the food I was reviewing I would being Perry’s 5 stars for sure. But unfortunately due to our overall experience I couldn’t do that. I almost gave just a three star but I wasn’t going to let the terrible service by Anna S. (name courtesy of our bill) bring down the stars more then one. She took forever to come take our drink order at which time she did we tried to tell her we were ready to give her our dinner order since we had waited so long we knew what we wanted. She told us to hold that thought she had to leave our table to answer the question. Of another guest but she’d be right back after the question and we could order then. Needless to say she didn’t not come back as she said she would only after going back and forward to other tables and standing at the station on the side talking with another girl she finally came with our drinks. At which time she attempted to leave our table again without taking our food order. I had to stop her an pretty much demanded she take our order before she walked away from our table again. I had to ask a bus boy if we could have some bread stick that i only knew existed because i saw other tables in the restaurant had them not because our service thought to offer us any. Or food came and it was all really good thank goodness. During the entire dinner after we got our food she stopped back by our table once twice if you count when she dropped off the bill. This was our first time at Perry’s for all six of us and we all agreed that her service was poor at best and if not for the yummy food not one of us would want to go back. For those of you that have never had the chance to go to Perry’s I say it is really worth a try the food was delicious the host with the hair she was amazing the only downside is you could possibly get Anna S. as your server that would be a bummer. To Anna S. if your reading this I want you to know I’m not some asshole that doesn’t have a clue about the job you do because there was a time in my life when I was raising my children by myself as a single mom that I worked as a food server and I know its not easy work with all that you have to do except for one part of the job that is the easiest part which is giving good customer service to whoever you get seated and you could have been better a lot better then you were. It’s because you barely gave 10% that you got barely 10% of a tip. Maybe next time you will do better I hope for Perry’s you do.
