Pepe teaches private guitar lessons in a variety of styles – Classical, Folk, Rock, Flamenco and Spanish guitar – as well as music theory.

Kids and adults. All levels. Classes taught in English or Spanish.

You learn the type of music that you like, while developing dexterity, rhythm control, reading (notation and/​or tablature) and the specific techniques for the style you are learning.

Creativity is welcome! Any of your music projects or song writing can be integrated into your lessons.

History

Established in 2003.

Temporarily established in Barcelona, Pepe is now offering on-​line lessons on Skype, FaceTime and GooglePlus.

Pepe Gimena has been teaching private guitar and music lessons in San Francisco since his move from Barcelona to San Francisco in 2003.

During these years he has taught over 250 happy students of all levels and ages, in his studio, in music school settings and on-​line.

Pepe’s students say he is patient, knowledgeable and fun.

Pepe Gimena has taught guitar lessons and music theory in San Francisco since his move here in 2003. He teaches in his private studio and in music schools settings.

Pepe studied both Modern and Classical Guitar in Barcelona, Spain. He earned his Bachelor Degree and Teaching Credential at Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. Pepe continued his music studies at San Francisco State University School of Music & Dance.

Pepe has performed in and composed for a variety of ensembles, such as the classical ensemble Tres Tigres, the indie bands Los Troskys and The Norman Bates, the electronic ensemble Marcello, and the acoustic world ensemble Aava.

In addition to teaching, Pepe regularly writes and arranges music for chamber ensemble and film scoring.
