I had a slow leak in a tire so I called to make an appointment with Paul’s. I hadn’t been there for years but was impressed by how they got the job done. It took about 45 minutes total from my 8:00am appointment. No frills but I left confident that the price was fair and that the job was done right.

My tire pressure light warning came on suddenly in the pouring rain!!! Was able to make a same day appointment here to get my tires checked. The place was full, and the phones were ringing off the hook. Still was seen right away!

Friendly service, reasonable prices, locally owned and operated. Made an appointment (as they are swamped because of the weather) and was in and out. Had been there years ago and I remember the same from back then and I was still in their system. I’ll be back.

I stated in a previous post for an auto repair place that my husband typically doesn’t trust mechanics, but he really likes Paul’s tires. We buy all our tires here AND in fact, we brought our car in 2 weeks ago with a nail in the tire. They fixed it quickly and for free because we had purchased the tire there! Great, easy and fast service. Shop or dine on Clement while you wait. Great find!

I had a nail stuck in my tire, searched a couple of tire shops they all were busy … So I found this & everything was easy, quick & unexpected ! All I did was to tell them I had a nail stuck, they said 30mins. Came back $ 30 fixed. I was expecting to pay $ 100… SATISFIED !

The last time I bought tires at a large tire chain I know I paid far too much.
When I went to get a quote at Paul’s, I was given a number. I figured that was a base quote and when I came back and paid for the tires I there would be things added on: balancing, stems, stem caps, other stuff as well.
Nope. The number I was quoted was the figure I paid. Free balancing and rotating every six months. And within walking distance from my home.

I had a serious flat this morning, and luckily, I live about a block away from this place. Got the donut on, and brought it over at 8:15, right after they opened. They were able to help right away– found a hole in the tire, let me know the tire was otherwise fine, and patched it. I was out and on my way by 9:00. They were friendly and fast and very cheap. The staff here is excellent!

This is the very best auto shop I have ever come across. If you look up my prior reviews, you’ll see Royal Audi San Francisco tried to exorbantly overcharge me for a repair. After calling Paul’s Battery, John quoted me a fraction of the price, so I had my Audi towed there. John patiently stayed open late for me while my car was towed, and kept my car safe until pickup. After assessing the repair, he told me that me car was all done– it was just a hose ($ 140) Not the $ 2k repair I had been attempted to be swindled on. I am so impressed with their customer service but mostly the very HONEST business they are running. So grateful!

I can’t compliment enough about this place. The entire staff is professional, courteous, efficient… Everyone has a choice on how and where to buy tires. But, in my opinion, building relationships and a trust in a shop is whats most important.
And that’s what I have been doing at Paul’s Tires over the last 25+ years. They have always treated me really fair.

Had a gash on my front right tire. Called them on a Wednesday morning around 9am to schedule a 2pm appt. Came in at 1:56pm. Told them I was on my lunch break and needed to be back by 2:30pm. Twenty minutes later, I was out the door at 2:16pm with a brand new front tire.
These guys are quick, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you!

Well I made a mistake taking my AWD audi to Firestone when it got a flat! They wanted me to get 4 new tires due to the wear and the puncture being too close to the sidewall!
I went to Paul’s for a second opinion and they were able to repair the tire! Honestly saved me well over a thousand dollars! I appreciate that there are still honest repair shops in this city! I would recommend Paul’s battery and tire to everyone!

I had a nail in my tire so took it to Big O. They said it was too close to the edge and the tire needed to be replaced (it was in the middle of the tread). They told me a similar story before, so I took the car to Paul’s who fixed the nail hole in 30 minutes.
The next time I need anything done to my car, I’ll go back to Paul’s first.

I’m so glad I came here a few weeks ago. I was having issues with one of my tires always registering with a low pressure after it got patched at another place. I dropped by and they were busy but booked me for an hour later. I came back and dropped my car off and explained the situation. They took about an hour to look it over and fix my tire. They did notice that there was a nail in my tire. They did an interior patch and placed it under water to see if there were any more holes. They were extremely thorough with this patch. I am pleased with their great service and will be returning again the next time I have another flat tire.
For their service it was $ 33. Better service and better quality than what I had experienced at 19^th and Judah’s 76 for the tire repair.

I’ve been coming to Paul’s for 10 years. Their prices are extremely reasonable, their service is excellent, and their work is professional. More than once they’ve saved me with last second work on the way out of town.
The best part about getting tires down there is that they will always try to fix before replacing, and are frequently successful.

4 stars only because they did not do any work on my car. This is for their 4 stars customer service. I called to get an estimate on my BMW run flat tires and for the same tires at the dealership, this place has the best price including labor. The guy on the phone told me to come in first to see if they were the right tires and I politely decline and really push to just get them done another day. So the day came and George did a quick «feel and look» touch and told me my current tires has a good six months on them. I was really relieved and happy that I did not have to change my tires just yet. He was honest and did not try to make me do the replacements. He also helped me remove a dangling piece of mudguard underneath my car. He gave me a recommendations on other things and I was on my way.
Paul’s Tire Company has impeccable customer service and I would recommend to all my friends.

Short version: Had four tires installed, tech ripped off my underbody panels in front of me while backing my car off the lift, poor customer service while trying to get them to fix their error. Still had to pay full price.
Longer version: I had four tires purchased from Tire Rack that I was having installed. I dropped the car off and was told they would call me within 45 – 60 minutes when done. I came back a little after an hour (I never received a call). They told me my car was done. It was sitting on one of the power lifts. I paid ($ 154 to mount & balance four tires) and stood there while one of the techs made several attempts backing my car off the lift while seemingly having trouble catching it on something underneath. I made the mistake of assuming they were professionals and knew what they were doing instead of raising an alarm, and sure enough he gunned it and we all heard a loud snap. He pulled forward and several fasteners for the underbody panel were laying on the lift rails. He had ripped the panel out from underneath my car.
One (and only one) of the other techs was smart enough to kick the other guy out of my car, took off the remains of the panel, and said they would order another panel and apologized. He was the only competent person I dealt with during this entire process. I left, being told that I would receive a call from the manager the next day (Wednesday).
Wednesday came and went. Thursday afternoon, a manager called me saying they would order the part and it should be there the next day (Friday). He would call me to let me know it came in.
Friday came and went. The weekend came and went. I called Monday and they said «oh yeah, it’s here.» Thanks for the call. I came in and had them install the panel, thankful they didn’t use the lift this time.
Once they were done, I asked the manager if I was still expected to pay the full amount of my bill, thinking if they went out of their way to make me happy I might be able to forget this whole fiasco. He said they already had ordered me a new part and fixed it, and «he needed to pay his guys». Fair enough, but a missed opportunity. I’ll never be back.
The office has signs saying «prices change according to customer’s attitude» and «for complaints please go to Helen Waite». There are plenty of other tire shops around that are likely cheaper and offer better customer service without the sassy signs. I’d recommend Diamond Tire in San Rafael… worth the drive for the prices and customer service alone.
