The menu undersells the food, which is AMAZING! Steak tartar is the best i’ve ever had! The service was also great, I can’t wait to go back. :)

Ive always been a fan of Commonwealth. Chef Jason Fox is opening another restaurant and recently had a series of preview dinners. In combination with Feastly we had a tasting menu of some of SF Bay Area’s local bounty: First Course Appetizer Chicken liver crackers Halibut chicarrones with fermented garlic aioli Sea urchin with scrambled eggs and charred bread Second Course Small Plate Assortment of house made charcuterie House made pickles Stonefruit, burrata, nasturtium pesto Third Course Small Plate Potato gnocchi with corn and chanterelles. Squid with egg and mint verde. Grilled lagunikas sausage with mustard and shelling beans. Fourth Course Entrée Grilled steak with smoked marrow pesto and crispy potatoes Roasted chicken with tomato and chard bread pudding Summer vegetables cooked in the embers Fifth Course Dessert Burnt honey panna cotta with flaxseed granola and summer berries Everything was fantastic, There are certainly some comparisons to Commonwealth. like the squid and burrata dishes. however with Chef Travis coming from the Central Kitchen/Salumeria team the use of meats is more prevalent. The charcuterie, smoked sausages and the Zabutan cut of beef were welcome contrasts and also wholly delicious. Definitely looking forward to the opening in the fall…
