Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the unprofessionalism of this location. I called to inquire about windshield wiper installation and the employee on the phone rudely responded they were too busy and did not offer an alternative time to come in or anything. I’m most disappointed because I gave O’reily my business when I bought the wipers but both times they were under staffed and not helpful at all. I will not bring my business back here.

This place was great. The guys were very helpful. The reason I didn’t give it the 5^th star is because they sold me a battery that was too small for my car. It was sufficient power and my car is running great, but it didn’t fit in the battery sections so I worry sometimes that it may slide around in there (under the hood).

I updated this from 1 star to 3 stars. They did replace my windshield. That was good. But the story told below also happened. It was very… not good.
My advice is… do not let any employee here touch your car. If anything is damaged, you very well may have an experience like I did. An employee was kind enough to put my new windshield wiper blades on without me even asking, however, in the process, my windshield cracked about 5 inches. I felt terrible. The guy was trying to help. But, I couldn’t just drive away without telling someone and asking what I should do. As I sat there feeling bad because I didn’t want to get the guy in trouble, make him feel bad, or possibly cause awkwardness for patrons inside of the store, I called the corporate office for advice.
I was at the store for over an hour talking to corporate on the phone as they told me repeatedly that the store manager would come out to look at the crack and start the process to get the windshield repaired and reimburse me for the cost. BUT I was flat out ignored by the store’s assistant manager and staff for over half an hour. I was right outside the front door the entire time. Literally right outside the front door. Multiple employees came out, looked right at me, and went back inside. Yet, they said I wasn’t there… they were looking right at me. They told corporate several times that I was not at the store. It was the most bizarre customer service experience I have ever had… not to mention SUPER SHADY. I think the store staff was hoping I would simply give up and leave. I didn’t want to cause a scene. I didn’t want to disrupt their business by letting their customers know what was going on. But, I kid you not, corporate continued to tell me that the store staff insisted that I was not at the store until I stood right in the doorway while still on the phone basically yelling «I’m here at the store. This is insane. I am right in the entrance!».
The regional manager called me afterward to let me know that he would see what he could do about the crack. Thanks, buddy. This experience made absolutely no sense from beginning to end. It felt like I was an unknowing character in a prank TV show or something. Unreal. Maybe it was just a bad dream…

The most helpful thing I can say is CALL before you go in to the store. They might have exactly what you need. At least one of the salespeople knows his stuff and is friendly and helpful. Hopefully they were just having a bad day.

I had a really frustrating experience here. Read other reviews that said they were able to quickly have a battery replaced. I was not so lucky. I went into the store where it took nearly 10 minutes before I was able to get someone’s attention. The salesperson was nice, quick and helpful and told me they had a great battery in stock. Relieved, I was ready to pay, and asked how long it would take to get installed. The nice salesperson asks his manager if it was OK for him to quickly go install my new battery. The manager, without looking up from his phone, says «No… I don’t know when — not until at least 12:30.» Please note: the store was empty, except for 4 O’Reilly employees. Not wanting to wait around O’Reilly’s store for an hour and a half I left. (if I have to make an appointment I’d rather give my money to a local business that puts more effort into customer service)

Walk in Frank doesn’t greet me, I let him know I’m having battery issues and I would like to test the battery and replace if need be. He says ok I will get the battery tester we will test it and go from there. Great.
Then he says o we are short handed need to wait for a colleague to get back it will be 10 – 15 minutes. Mean while 4 other employees standing a cash register doing nothing. Ok…
I’m waiting while a lady walks in and asks Frank about oil and doesn’t know what type or how much she needs. Right away he goes lets go take a look.
Dudeeeee… So I follow them up to their garage, she had parked right next to me so I let frank know I’ll wait in my car while you help the lady that came in after me.
After he helps her he comes to my car test the battery says it’s fine… I said my car has died twice in last month he says ya it might be on last limb. Then literally walks away.
Dude I was going to buy an expensive battery from you. Instead I spent 45 minutes finding out I’m never going back to O Reilly’s and spending money elsewhere.

Allowed me to use their tools to make repairs to my vehicle. Very patient and friendly.

This store is a bit larger than the one on taraval. The selection here is quite marvelous and I can be sure to count on them when I need brake pad replacements. The staffing here is pretty knowledgeable and kind as well.
The only complaint I’d have about this spot is the parking lot layout. Whenever I come here, I always have to honk the horn before making a right turn into the lot through the really narrow pathway. Gets annoying at times since it’s like an accident waiting to happen but other than that, it’s fine.

Great customer service. Happy there’s still auto parts store. Needed to add oil to my car and the remote key fob needed batteries, instead of driving all the way downtown to BMW, O’Reilly had the Mobile 1 European oil and the CR3032 battery for the key fob. Awesome!

Awesome customer service. My car wasn’t starting properly so I called and was told they’d inspect my car to see what was wrong. Came in after work and Kenian-​might have misspelled it– helped me check my battery, replace it and my windshield wipers. He was knowledgeable and friendly. I was out of there in less than an hour. I probably saved a whole bunch of money too. Will definitely be coming back!
Ps I think the older reviews are for when it used to be a Kragen. Again, O’Reilly’s really pulled through for me.

Bad experience. Rude personnel.

Had a great experience here today. Came in for a replacement headlight. Right off the bat, thrilled by the very convenient off-​street parking. Was offered assistance the moment I walked in, and the guy (wish I could remember his name because he was awesome and deserves the shout out) popped my make and model into the computer, found my part and offered to come to the garage and install it for me. Did a great, quick job, and a colleague on his lunch even came over to offer help as well.
I wanted to tip him but had to run him down to do so because he didn’t expect anything, it was all free and just in the spirit of great customer service. Will come back here for all my parts going forward.

I love coming here. Going there this evening to get motorcycle oil and a filter.
To the person who gave the 1-​star review in February: it would help if you explained what about the customer service didn’t please you. No one can please everyone, and very often miscommunication is the basis for what we perceive as poor service. I know that I get disappointed and mean when I have expectations and things don’t go my way. But usually, those expectations are there because an incident from the past occupies my mind, thus setting the bar too high. I end up apologizing for being nasty, and then everything continues fine.

If you love the experience of terrible customer service and mediocrity by all means do come and shop here.

I went into the store looking for snow chains for my tires. I walked up to the counter and the man asked if I knew what my tire size was, I did not. He said no problem, asked where I parked and came with me to help me check my tires. I don’t know that much about cars but it would have been a simple thing for me to check, but the guy was very friendly about it.
He suggested 2 different types and what the pros and cons were of each. I easily made my choice and was done! Easy.

The day is Sunday, November 17^th, 2013, over two millenia after our Lord’s departure. A day that was overflowing with accomplishments and an aching joy. The day began with sneaking into 24 FItness to wake up the endorphins while watching Sunday morning football via treadmill monitor. This was followed by breakfast beignets and a breakfast biscuit sandwich from Devil’s Teeth Bakery (Note: $ 1 beignets on Sundays!). The climax to this day was on my way to the Marina to Eastside West to watch the anticipated Saints/​Niners battle. To celebrate the nail-​biting win, Popeye’s on Divisidero. Great day so far, I know! Post $ 20+ of chicken purchasing I find… da da daaa… my car’s battery had died, :*(. *Sigh, in that moment I knew how Reggie Bush felt getting his Heisman revoked. But worse cas it happened to ME! Yes, it’s called relative disappointment. Condensed story time: Left car, figured out I had Roadside Assistance the NEXT DAY, bussed it back to the broken chariot, waited two hours for a jump, called O’Reillys to make sure they had my battery in stock and drove there.
Now the actual review begins:
I had spoken on the phone with an associate who guided me through my battery selection over the phone and accommodated my frugalness by giving me three options for my automobile’s current ailment and without hesitation assured me that the lowest priced battery was sufficient in my situation. So, like many unprepared and tool-​challenged individuals, I asked if it were possible for someone to help me change out my battery. The employee informed me that if business stayed slow for the moment that any associate would be available to perform the requested task. Delightful, indeed.
Upon arrival I noticed there’s ample parking but I meter-​parked (Note: In and out in under 20 minutes) my car in front of the store on Geary so that whoever was going to help me could have easier access (yes, that’s what she said). When I walked in, the same associate I spoke to on the phone checked me out, replaced my battery and even refused my tip a total of 3 times.
So, although Wal-​Mart is possibly $ 20+ cheaper for the battery purchase, you won’t find incredibly efficient service like at O’Reillys. Your battery will be cheaper but I’m positive you will have to get your own piggly digits a little tarnished in black soot.
For all the Unilocalers who enjoy checking in and not really into getting stalked, don’t fret, a check-​in at O’Reillys will get you a disguise in the form of a baseball cap.

It couldn’t have gone any better. I came needing a cabin filter and loved my whole experience here:
1. They have parking
2. I got attended to quickly
3. The lady helping me was totally cool about me not being sure about which of the filters I wanted (the cheap one or the one that cost a little more). She brought both out, helped me compare them, and made me feel really comfortable about getting the slightly pricier one. By the time I was rung up, I was hella shocked at the totally.
4. affordable pricing. I had done some web research and was convinced that my part would cost a little more. Ha! I love being able to get what I need in person without having to pay for shipping!
After some youtube searches on how to install it, I totally did and now I feel hella empowered and not completely broke. Woo hoo!
