Its hard to imagine how to squeeze in a bunch of gourmet food trucks in densely-packed San Francisco! New York sort of has the right idea with spreading out food stands everywhere, often just on one side of the street. Over in the East Bay like Emeryville and Stoneridge Pleasanton, they camp out in a large parking lot. Here in SF Stockton and O’Farrell, they had a brilliant idea of blocking off the main street between the Men’s and Women’s Macy’s. Plus they add lots of astroturf that’s actually comfortable to walk on and is green(not aesthetically but not needing water or fertilizer!). Add a bunch of security folks and police officers plus plenty of seating(white benches shaped like letters I think) and you have a nice venue here. I just tried two trucks. The half-and-half Seoul of Taiwan gives you a pile of crispy fries with two types of toppings. There’s the Duroc pork belly with basil sauce and five-spice gravy for Taipei-style. For Seoul-style, its beef short rib with Sriracha and scallions. I liked the Seoul-topping better since the pork belly was a bit too fatty for me. Good crispiness on the fries though. The second truck is the PhilzTruck — and its definitely a iced mint mojito for me! An excellent drink to neutralize all the savory dishes and to recharge yourself from all that walking in downtown SF.

Oh. Em. Gee. Just had to choose lunch between two of my fave trucks(Señeezy Siseezy x Yake Yake) bc they’re both out here in the same place. #mofoodtrucksmoproblems Minus a star only due to the area being wholly unprepared for inclement weather: astroturf is a huge swampy puddle & uncovered seating. Still heart it though.
