Nice staff, friendly people, easy in and out. Perfect local neighborhood barber shop for guys in the Haight

Consistent. Not a place where you will become best friends with your hair cutter but I already have friends so that’s fine.

I had a hair cut with Thao and she totally rocked it! I was really nervous about coming here because of all of the negative reviews but she did a great job on my hair. I left really satisfied and looking FLY. I will definitely go here again. Bigger plus cuts are $ 20 dollars AND this is right down the street from my house.

Thao is AMAZING!!! She took her time with cutting my hair just like I wanted it and definitely went above and beyond to get a fade looking right. She’s the sweetest thing. Thanks again Thao. I found my go-to spot for a haircut in the city

I have been coming here for a year and a half and don’t think I will be again. I moved away to the Inner Richmond and passed up going to other salons. Today I ran here with $ 20 in my pocket because it always comes out to $ 18 and I leave a $ 2 tip, and don’t like running around with extra cash in my pocket(I’ve been mugged, and when I’m not it gets sweaty). After a pleasant cut I learned prices were raised to $ 20 on March 1st. Okay, I understand. I forked over my $ 20 and explained I’d have to leave a tip next time as I just learned about the increase. Frown from Ms. Nguyen. Looks up at me. «That’s it?» Um, yeah, I explained, I only ran here with $ 20 and I didn’t know you raised your prices. You know I’ll be back, and I can leave extra tip next time. Frown. Looks down. Ohhhhkay, well see you next time Ms. Nguyen! No reply. Look, you’re not entitled to a tip — and it’s pretty rude to ask — and you should treat longtime customers with more deference. I didn’t know about your price increase — which I didn’t complain about — and I paid my tab and I said I would be back. And then to not say bye when I’ve come here at least two dozen times… yeah. Not very considerate.

I really like the haircuts here. I haven’t had the experiences that other reviewers have mentioned and I’ve been 3 times. I’ve never had to wait and it’s close to home. They really take their time and make sure you have everything just the way you want it. I feel like they actually value me as a customer and they work hard, which will keep me coming back.

Need a quick bang trim? Three of us were in and out today with quick bang trims in less than 30 minutes. And they charged us $ 10/each. Awesome.

I’ve gotten my hair cut now about 10 times with Kim here on Haight and she’s the best! Whenever I show her a photo she does it right! I would highly recommend her for men. I bet everyone else there is great too. She’s also incredibly sweet and really enjoy going there!

I got the worst hair cut I’ve ever gotten in my life here from Kim. Most of you won’t read this because it’s too long, but don’t say I didn’t tell you so when you’re looking at yourself in the mirror wondering who it is that is staring back at you. All I wanted were my bangs to be cut straight across, right above my eyebrows. They were a little grown out so all she had to do was trim them. She left large chunks untrimmed and pushed them to the side, but the way my hair falls naturally, they just hang like two fangs on a saber tooth tiger. I have to keep pushing them back out of my eyes. I guess I could just leave them there and pretend I’m going for some kind of high fashion look. But I’m not. I have a cowlick and she chopped it all the way to the root, so now it’s just 1⁄8 inch long and will be horrendous to grow out. They are incredibly uneven. I have one mountain and one valley, not the simple plateau I asked for. And on top of it all, she trimmed them so far to the sides that it looks like I got lines buzzed into my head, like at those trendy barber shops in the Fillmore. But once again, not the look I’m going for. I wanted them to just rest above my eyebrow but instead, they’re so short they look like they are running from my eyebrows back into my skull. I have learned to speak up for myself from this day forward. I suggest you do the same if you’re brave/foolish enough to go here. Never again, «Nice Cuts.» Never. Again.

I just got a pretty darn good haircut from the gentleman that works there(forgot his name). If you’re really specific about what you want(and I mean spell it out), he’ll deliver, it seems. He definitely redeemed himself since the last time he gave me a cut.

Tried this place since its close to my house… I would definitely recommend getting a shampoo — they massage your head — I was a huge fan of that! Good cut, for a great price!

Walked in, no wait, $ 15 cut with a guy who really took his time. I have easy hair and I’m not super picky, so I don’t know if I would feel this way if I was accustomed to intricate $ 100 cuts, but I really enjoyed my nice cuts experience and will definitely be returning here.

I was hesitant to come here based on the reviews, but I was giving it the benefit of the doubt, thinking, «hey, this is in my neighborhood. This could be really convenient.» This is the worst haircut that I have ever gotten. I’ve gotten better haircuts at a $ 6 Great Clips. I paid $ 18 for them to butcher my hair. I hadn’t gotten a haircut in a while, so my hair was pretty long and growing in ways that it normally didn’t. This changed my part and the direction that my hair grew. As someone who cuts hair, you should be able to accommodate this but doing something as simple as wetting my hair. This didn’t happen. After lots of buzzing and clipping on the right side, the left side was completely neglected. My hair was left completely lopsided and uneven. Seeing that it had already taken 40 minutes to just do the right side, I didn’t want to wait that long for them to fix the left, so I just left and went home and fixed it myself. My plans to find a nice, cheap haircut in my neighborhood utterly backfired. I have a wedding coming up so I hope I have enough time to grow it out and get it fixed elsewhere.

Cheap cut, close to the house, and there was no line or wait. Guy who cut my hair asked how I wanted my cut, and then would take less off so that he’d get it right and always have more room to go as opposed to the other way around — much appreciated. I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews for this place. I have no complaints. Except that I didn’t get offered the blade on the neck. But its probably better that I don’t get that done in the Haight anyways…

Easily the worst haircut I’ve ever had by a large margin. 90% trimmers and extremely uneven. I have the simplest hair possible and yet walked out looking worse than I can remember ever looking before. Now I have to go pay 2X to have someone with actual knowledge do damage control on this mess next week. Holy cow.

I randomly walked by this place and decided to get a haircut($ 22 for a basic cut, shampoo, and dry). I didn’t know what to expect since it was very spontaneous, but I got exactly what I wanted and I was happy with the cut. I also really liked that she didn’t put too much product into my hair or style it in weird ways at the end. I’d come back for sure.

Don’t understand all the harshing some people have done on this place– seems quite unfair to me. I’ve been going there for years and always gotten great service, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s kind of like people who say the French are so rude, but when we go to France they’re hella nice to us. Maybe says more about the reviewers than the reviewed? Thao rocks– she’s the one I go to.

I’m pretty sure my guy told me he was operating a trolley downtown 2 weeks before cutting my hair. Then he just blasted it dry, no product, not even using a brush. When i asked if he could style the ends a bit, it turned into a lesson on how to use a curling iron. I’m not high-maintenance about my hair, but this place doesn’t know the fundamentals. My next stylist said it would take months to repair the damage:(

15 Bucks. Will be a nightmare for you if you get the older lady — she sucks ass. I used to only see Sue there but she has gone independent after having a baby and no longer works there — if anyone has her contact info please share. I did trials and tribulations with others there and had bad experiences — but then I discovered Thao. Super sweet girl — spend about 30 minutes with her each time and we hardly understand any of our conversation, but it seems very kind and well intentioned nevertheless so we chat along not understanding anything — but smiling. I think we have a crush on each other. She gives a good cut, and takes her time each step of the way to make sure you are happy with it. Then the massage is a bonus extra, but she can’t do it if the boss is around from what I gather. I’ve often thought while sitting in here that it would be a good place to pick up the right girl. I’ve seen some cute onces come in, and what Man wouldn’t agree that any chick that looks good and is fine with a $ 15 haircut is the bomb. There is just something so great seeing girls who have come to the conclusion that paying $ 130 in a trendy salon is not what makes them attractive. I drive form Sausalito to get my $ 15 hair cut here, but will have to look elsewhere if my girl Thao ever leaves…

I’ll never understand why people feel that paying $ 70 for a haircut makes them look good. No. I’ll be the first one to tell you: Long and short bangs/emo haircuts/bobs make you look like an idiot. Especially if you are a girl. Now that I got that out of the way, I got a cheap haircut and it looks better than the expensive ones. If you wanna go get some stupid shit for $ 80 go to Blade Runners. If you want a nice haircut done by a lady with years and years and more years of experience than Blade Runners or your local expensive salon stylist, go here. P. S. Why do men pay $ 60 for a haircut? That’s just plain stupid.
