NextSpace Coworking Potrero Hill

I’ve been working out of this space for more than 2 years and I don’t know what I would have done without it! I looked at more than 10 other coworking spaces before deciding on this space. I loved the natural light, the laid back yet professional vibe, and the friendly, responsive staff. Oh, and the onsite (AMAZING) daycare for my girls. Despite being the only person from my organization on site, it feels like I have a whole community at my fingertips. The relationships I’ve built and connections I’ve made have been priceless — both personally and professionally. You can’t go wrong working here! And as an added bonus, Philz just opened up a couple of blocks away!

I’ve worked out of NextSpace for the past 16 months, and my son has been in NextKids for the same amount of time. This is a unique and wonderful program for many reasons. The NextKids childcare is fantastic, and there’s a real community of parents at the coworking space. Just to be that close to your young ones is special.
As for the workspace, it is flexible and well thought out — workstations, café space or private office, and an awesome roof deck. The community events, regular happy hours, etc. are fun, but totally optional. So you have as much community as you want, or you can be heads down and no one will mind. I can’t recommend the space enough. It stands out among coworking spaces by catering to small businesses, creative people and parents.

Oh, how I love you NextKids/​NextSpace PT! Let me count the ways.
1) The space is beautiful and developmentally appropriate for infants and toddlers.
2) The caregivers are loving and nurturing toward the kids. They’re also very communicative with the parents. (They will text you if something needs your attention.)
3) The co-​working space is cozy and has a discernible family/​community feel.
4) Their staff is responsive, helpful, and super friendly.
5) Their rooftop deck.
For some background, I’m the founder of MotherCoders, a non-​profit that helps women with children onramp to careers in technology by providing a tech orientation program that includes on-​site childcare. We’ve run 2 Saturday-​only class sessions out of NextSpace/​NextKids, graduating 13 students who are now well on their way toward new careers. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that we would not exist without NextSpace/​NextKids. We need them all over the city, state, and country if you ask me.

I was lucky enough to work for a day at this NextSpace.
Everyone was so friendly around the place, helpful and smiling one minute, considerate of your space the next.
The facilities are top notch and very clean, and extremely secure. Access to the entrance was strictly controlled and my fellow coworkers seemed secure enough to leave their personal items unattended without concern — showing me their confidence in the security.
There is a roof with a view — whilst too cold the day I visited I can imagine working out there in the sun.
Location is good, with a Whole Foods and places to eat/​coffee within walking distance. Access to MUNI is close by, also.
There’s even an Über depot close by in case you want to yell at them and tell them how much better Lyft is (just kidding).
Recommended.

I am a freelance film producer, and I had a shoot in NextSpace today. We used one of their larger conference rooms. We had about 9 people and a decent amount of equipment brought in, and NextSpace handled everything nicely. Our shoot went well, and I’d use their space again.

I worked out of this office for several months in early 2014. This is a great spot for freelancers and small businesses. It’s professionally run, personable, and conducive to getting stuff done, while also providing a way to learn about other businesses and make connections (or at least chat with other interesting adults while refilling your coffee). I really appreciated the access to resources like quiet, clean, well-​equipped meeting rooms, secure cubbies and desks, and a big olé copier/​scanner. And my co-​workers here, to a one, were all involved in really fascinating work and were smart, friendly people.
If I had to subtract a star, it would be for the sometimes overwhelming hipster/​startup vibe of this place: When I am deeply engrossed in a task that must be completed by EOD, I’d rather not receive multiple emails about the most awesomest can’t miss sponsored gluten-​free juicing/​networking/​yoga party happening in the office atrium RIGHT NOW!!!
But this is San Francisco in 2014… What can you do?
In any case, I’m giving five stars to the NextSpace/​NextKids concept, because options like this for working parents are a necessity and will be the next major revolution in workplace culture, and, hopefully, our culture at large. This model is fantastic and I’m confident it will be replicated many times over in various sectors. As for this particular site, the caregivers looking after my child were incredibly skilled and trustworthy; I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I love NextSpace. It’s a great workspace, it’s amazingly great to know everyone else around you is busy working too. And they are also great at incorporating a social aspect with happy hours and community lunches.
Hanako and Becca are always friendly and helpful, I’ve even known them to reply to my questions out of hours.
And if you have little ones, the advantage of having NextKids right there is exceptional; workspace and childcare all bundled up? Absolutely brilliant caregivers too, you just can’t pass up this amazing facility!

NextSpace and NextKids is a great solution. It provided a great working environment for me and wonderful care for my son. As a new parent I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive environment and community. The NextSpace team and care space teachers are all fantastic. An unexpected benefit was working along side all the other parents and getting to know them as well. I made some lasting personal and professional friendships. I would recommend it to anyone who needs both a space to work and child care.

Great place to work! I worked here for a few months at a «workstation» desk, where I had my own desk everyday. The community, staff, location, and everything was great. The space itself was clean, bright, and open. Parking was not a hassle, as you could usually find a free spot within a few blocks, if not closer.
It was quiet enough to work, but you could also sense the hustle and bustle from others around you, which worked as motivation for me. There were also cool «happy hours» every Friday and community lunches to partake in if you wanted. Conference rooms are available too for any meetings, which was great.
Overall, the experience was fantastic and NextSpace was VERY accommodating to everything. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a space to work in a great environment!

The NextSpace team is very friendly and helpful. The space is bright, clean, and well-​maintained. I felt very productive working in this space, being surrounded by others who were working hard at the same time.

I had fun working here. Have moved to another space as I moved to a new apartment. Potrero is good as there are a few nice spots for lunch within walking distance but it’s also quiet enough to get parking.
Also well connected with Muni buses — 22 & 31 go to Mission/​Castro/​Cole Valley/​Market — wherever you need.
Love the fun community organizers Hanako and Becca, they are awesome and really helpful. Miss you guys!

My business partner and I visited nearly every coworking space in San Francisco. Our two biggest concern when picking out an office was the price and the parking. After doing a bit of comparison, this Nextspace was easily the perfect choice for us. There’s always ample parking in the nearby streets and prices were very reasonable. In addition, the staff and the communal residences are all very welcoming and friendly. Good vibes all around!

NextSpace is a fantastic place to work! Becca and Hanako are both absolutely awesome and super friendly! Both were always there to help with anything or answer any questions. I really enjoyed how NextSpace makes an effort to connect and create opportunities for members to engage, whether it was happy hours on the roof deck (overlooking downtown SF!), or group lunches to Dos Pinas! Anyone who is looking for a fun and collaborative place to work — I definitely recommend NextSpace!

I had a great experience at NextSpace (and NextKids). They do a great job of building community with fun events, and the fact that this location also offers daycare was a huge bonus. If you’re self-​employed and looking for a place to work and also have daycare, you can’t beat this location. The only reason I left is that I moved back to the East coast — otherwise, we would still be there. I miss NextSpace!

I spent nearly a year working at this amazing NextSpace office and, after months of floating from flexible work space to flexible work space, this is where I found a home. As a mom & professional, I was able to bring my 6mo old baby next door to NextKids, visiting her throughout the day for a break from screen time. I was able to continue breastfeeding and still got a ton of work done. Forget the pump! Woohoo. I ended up learning a lot about child development, building a community of other hard working moms, & taking the next big step in my career. I will be forever grateful.

I loved working at this space. Not only was my dog welcome, but there was a great rooftop deck, unlimited caffeine (and alcohol at times), friendly staff to greet us every morning, and great get togethers (I wish we had more time to participate in).
This co-​working space had more women working out of it, which as a female founder, I personally loved.
Everyone is super friendly and makes themselves available for quick questions /​advice /​brainstorming. It can be a great way to network and get some expertise from the variety of awesome folks working out of the space.
Only criticism is that it could use more phone booths for calls.

You need quiet… come here. You need conversation… come here. You need rooftop yoga! come here. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a more respectful, social, friendly co-​working space. It’s the staff. They facilitate the family feel… and the Potrero one epitomizes this in the child care in the back of the building. And the kiddies are not seen nor heard by other members… it just allows Dads and Moms a place to keep their kids why they work.
And a great bonus is $ 9/​day parking 1 block away vs messing with «finding» a place on the street if your moving and busy.
The happy weekly happy hours are fun and relaxing. I dug it. It’s an old zynga space repurposed or co-​working and it has a fun feel to it. Just stop by, free to try for a day. I even have a book of $ 20/​day passes I give to people I know so they can do some quiet time work if needed.
Did I mention its right off the 101, first exit before you get to the hell driving in from the valley.
and a super bonus, 1 block away is a Whole Foods… even though NS has great coffee, I did the short walk to Whole Foods to grab a Core warrior bar and a latte. (starbucks is right there too… but eh)

NextSpace is a fun little place to work. Our company had an outing here, where we took over the «Moose Lodge» for the day.
We had access to free coffee, the projector, fast Wi-​Fi, and a roof for lunch. Parking is easy enough with free street parking if you look hard enough. I just don’t like how crowded it can get. There were a lot of other companies bumping into each other by EOD.

I went to several co-​working spaces during my search, most of the others were in SOMA. This space was bigger and had a lot more light, as well as the option for street parking. I’ve been a few times now and I’m impressed. The staff are great, and the people who co-​work here are really friendly, and have a diverse set of interests. There is a pay as you go snack section, the kitchen is clean. There are lots of different rooms and types of space to choose from. Unlike another reviewer, I found that if you went to the closed areas, people were respectful and did not talk on their phones. There are phone booths for that purpose. Maybe those are new? They are working on a roof deck area, which will be nice when it’s ready. All in all, I highly recommend this place.

Nextspace’s new location is located in the old Zynga building. It’s very well lit and is composed of multiple rooms, so you can find the spot that works for you. This place also features a daycare center for members, which is really awesome. The location is great for our of town commuters and parking is relatively easy. There are also parking lots nearby. Access to BART is about 0.5 mile away and Caltrain is also walkable.
