Hi, i hope you do not rent from new pacific. when i moved in i basically took the role of the responsible roommate. i was going to be brave and make the phone calls and get the problems fixed. first time i called the horrible, horrible woman named MOLLY, i was polite and started to explain the situation. she immediately started making excuses and ignoring what i was saying. she’s obviously from hong kong where the women only know how to complain and they think it’s a normal way to act. i was trying to reach out to her and be gentle and polite, and she was giving me a load of crap. I was exasperated and had to yell over her to get her to stop talking nonsense. i told her she was legally required to fix the toxic mold and broken electrical. she started talking over me again and made a comment about how we should fix it ourselves. my master tenant was an electrician and she wants him to fix it for free because she knows he legally cannot be compensated for working on an apartment he lives in. i just said very loudly, the lights not working in the entryway is a safety hazard, the bathroom is filled with toxic mold and you WILL clean it up. then she said she was going away for a few weeks obstensibly was on a trip in china. i gracefully took her at her word. i should have immediately called the health department and opened a case against her on the spot. when she came back she had a guy fix the toxic mold problem. and another guy to fix the electrical. that was very fast and i appreciated it. things were looking up. i thanked her and smiled, and it seemed like she was happy that i was on the level and we could work together. later i spotted an issue where the water from the top floor’s water heater was being syphoned off to the downstairs unit. i pointed it out to them(meaning that the master tenant of my unit had been paying for this guy’s hot water for 10 years) and they fixed that within a week. i guess they were getting scared. when i moved out she took the security deposit because the carpet was dirty(from 10 years of living in one unit, that is considered wear and tear, and you can’t take someone’s security deposit for that…) i was too tired of dealing with her BS to take them to court. but i really should have played hardball from the beginning. long story short. they are not trustworthy. they should be shut down.
