Created by Kimberly, she set out to bring a boutique that does not state, «I am wearing my mother’s maternity clothes.» Instead the clothes statement is, «I am a hip, stylish, sophisticated mom-​to-​be!»

Nest Maternity features trendy collections of diaper bags, baby slings, nursing covers, baby blankets, and skincare have been carefully selected to give pleasure during motherhood.

Nest Maternity store is located in beautiful San Francisco. The ambiance has a serene spa-​like feel with water fountains, service of unlimited drinks and snacks, and Dutailier gliders and ottomans to relax on. In addition to the fashionable maternity clothes, a mom-​to-​be can enjoy shopping in a spacious maternity and infant boutique with a lounge and kid’s play area. Dads love it, too. They no longer need to hover over you while you shop. Dads can relax and read up on the latest baby gadgets. While you are «nesting» your baby, you will experience a tranquil shopping excursion, like no other.

History

Established in 2007.

Dashing to the local maternity stores, Kimberly searched for cute, fashionable clothes that she could wear to work and on weekends. She walked away from stores disappointed and frustrated. Either the styles and prints were unattractive or it was too showy and low-​cut that she would never wear to her executive corporate job. Kimberly needed sophisticated styles to walk into a meeting as well as comfortable clothes for when she traveled.

This is how Nest Maternity idea hatched. Forget about those tacky prints, Nest Maternity showcases designer collections for work-​to-​play, casual-​comfort, night out dressy, chic denim jeans, workout, loungewear, intimates, and transition/​nursing phases. All designs reflect the belief that women grow more beautiful during pregnancy and nursing, and what they wear should enhance, not hide, this loveliness. Outfits are elegant, versatile and flattering during your pregnancy and post pregnancy phases.

Wonderful service and good selection of maternity clothing. Varied selection of nursing bras and jeans, large selection of nursing tops and dresses. (If you’re looking for professional work clothes, I recommend Mom’s the Word.)
The owner is incredibly helpful, attentive, professional, and honest. He and his wife have two daughters, so he is very knowledgeable about pregnancy and women’s needs/​preferences. I came in looking for jeans, and he talked me through all the brands, styles, and cuts (e.g., how skinny is a true skinny jean). I didn’t find the jeans I wanted at Nest Maternity, but he told me that in my search he was certain I had already tried on everything that exists, and that I should make a decision and order my jeans from
since he didn’t have what I was looking for.
I highly recommend Nest Maternity and will be back when my little one is born for all my nursing clothes!

I found out this place after I came to child care classes at Kaiser. The staff mentioned about this place and other places near by hospital about buying nursing bras. So I told my husband to take me to this place sometimes.
Now, I am 39 weeks pregnant and I am looking for a right nursing bras.
When we went inside, the male staff was working there. At first, I wasn’t feel comfortable. I thought I would get a service from a female. However, The guy was friendly and he seemed to know everything in the store. I told him what I was looking for and I had no idea how to pick the right nursing bras for myself.
He took his time, explained everything I wanted to know and I ended up
got a right nursing bras. I am really happy with my products from Nest Maternity even though I feel my 3 bras cost me $$$ but I still think it is well worth every penny.

My wife does not want to look like a frumpy frummie while she’s with child, and the Unilocalers did not disappoint with the reviews for Nest maternity. My wife and I was very happy with the selection of clothing here and for all things when you are awaiting the birth of your child.
Personally, I think my wife looks too good and stylish and it makes me a little nervous that somebody will come and snatch her away from me.
The staff is very helpful, and I’ll tell you pregnant women do need a lot of help especially if it’s your first or second pregnancy. After number two you seem to have it down.
This shop is a fantastic place to get all of your maternity needs and they even have baby clothes so if you’re missing something from your shower you can pick it up here its like one stop shopping for the peas in the pod.
Currently on baby 2, only 10 more to go! Mishpacha!

Came here to get some maternity bras, sleepwear and check out their selection. Lots of very nice maternity clothes. Found a bra that i loved, but wasn’t in the size and color that I wanted at the store. The owner offered to order it, which i did and it arrived at my doorstep less than two weeks later.

Came in to get the Gabriella support band for my super expanding heavy belly. At first found it a little odd that a man works at a maternity store, but he was so helpful and nice– This place soars because of the service. He let me spend about 30 minutes trying to figure out the belly band in the bathroom, over and under my clothes, adjusting the velcro strap until it was comfy. No pressure at all. Plus he was honest and said that if I didn’t walk out of the store with it working right away, then I should not buy it at all because it’s not something that will eventually work out later on.
I love their cute little newborn hand knit hats by local artists and the store is very welcoming. I’ll be back!

I walked in, told the lady I needed jeans and my size (size 14, plus I’m 6′ 1″), and viola! Two pairs of jeans that actually fit me! They were pricey, but I’m wearing them everyday. An easy, satisfying experience!

Fantastic selection of *good looking* maternity clothes with the most helpful staff!
If you’re in a crunch for maternity outfits (aka. last minute shopping) for big events… let’s say for an interview and a big presentation, this is the place for you! Great variety of dresses that are stylish AND professional. I’ve been able to find 2 dresses for various professional events both times I’ve been in the store. This 100% success rate is something I never had in my non-​pregnancy days for any store. The clothes can be a bit pricey for something you know you won’t get a ton of use… but I lucked out that both of the dresses I bought were on sale. The only caveat is that the on sale clothes are final sale. Good thing is that their sales associate are super helpful in giving you feedback when you need a 2nd opinion without being pushy. Highly recommended!

Great customer service and attention. Really adorable clothing both for expectant/​new mamas, and for the babies. I went in for some comfy bras to take me through third trimester and nursing and scored — plus they were on special at 20%! The only downside is the parking out front is limited to 30 min at the meters so you have to power shop.

WOW! Cutest, most stylish maternity clothes ever! It seems like most maternity clothes I’ve seen have been a total drag, all of it in boring color palettes like black, navy blue, gray, beige, and dark green. When it came to finding a dress for my shower, I thought I might be doomed. I am over the moon about my baby, so I wanted to wear something to celebrate in, something bright, happy, feminine, stylish… I went to several places, and they all carried dark and boring merchandise that made me feel like I was going to a funeral.
As soon as I set foot in Nest, I easily found 6 dresses to try on. The store was full of colorful clothing. Lots of jeans too, although I did not try any on this time. One of the dresses was literally the dress of my dreams! I am so excited for everyone to see me at my shower!
I love how they have lot of functional clothing – stylish clothes made for easy nursing. They are well-​stocked with baby stuff too, like swaddling blankets and even really sweet organic cotton onesies for babies. I will definitely be shopping here again.

I took my friend who was pregnant here because she is in her second trimester and was looking for a brace to support her back. She is a contortionist and teaches classes at the Circus Center.
We called a few different places around the city, but none had what we were looking for. When we got there, there were two sales associates and they were extremely helpful. They let my friend try on the brace and walk around the store, and were not pushy.
They had a Unilocal deal going on, and we were able to purchase in the store and use it right away.
Great customer service. I highly recommend this place

Becoming a mother has been fraught with anxieties for me from the first: will I get pregnant? Is the baby ok? Will I poop on the table during delivery? WILL I EVER FIND JEANS THAT MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A NORMAL PERSON?!?

Beth at Nest Maternity was amazing, listened to what I was looking for, and helped me find just what I wanted. Now, I have a new pregnancy wardrobe that suits my personality (instead of horrid muumuus from one of those mall maternity stores). I feel like myself, only rounder. I even feel… dare I say it… kind of cute?

Great place! I found some super cute outfits. All the clothing were soft, good quality and super «Anthropologie» cute.
Until Nest, all the options I found looked like a carbon copy pregnant lady; nothing stylish and things I would actually wear. The owner was super helpful. I would recommend this as the best place for maternity clothing.

I had a nice experience here shopping for myself. The sales person was very sweet and very helpful. He actually advised me (I’m not all that big yet) that I although he would like to sell me an extender, I may not need one for a while yet. I can likely get away with using a rubber band to keep my pants closed…
I’m also very petite, and the store carries XS — so I was able to find some clothes that fit well.
Clothes are cute and prices are much better than Pea in a Pod. Focus is on comfortable cuts and comfortable fabrics. There are some basics, and some not-​so-​basic. They also carry maternity under-​garments, lotions, and some cute kids clothes (likely for baby shower gifts). All-​in-​all a nice variety in the store.
I ended up walking away with a nice blouse and sweater dress. Keep an eye out for Unilocal deals — I was able to use one while I was here. But word of warning, if you purchase something using a deal or sale, it’s a final sale.

I had such a frustrating experience here today! I went in looking for a baby gift for a friend but left empty-​handed within 5 minutes. I get that it was the middle of a Friday and probably a boring shift for the three employees working (it’s a tiny store), but I was completely overwhelmed by them. First I was greeted by the cashier, he pretended to recognize me as a frequent visitor (I’ve only been there once over 6 months ago), no problem, he was just being friendly. Then saleswoman number one asked if I was looking for anything in particular, still pretty standard. I said no and continued on. About ten seconds later I was scouring the infant clothing racks when saleswoman number two came up to me and participated in the following interaction:
«Are you looking for something in particular»
«No, just browsing for a gift. We don’t know the gender of the baby»
«For the mother or baby?»
«…Baby»
“Oh great, is it a boy or girl?”
«…»
I left.
Other than that the place is good. I had a good experience there last time I visited. The selection of baby and maternity clothing is all very cute and unique. Bummer that it didn’t work out this time…

NO. i repeat NO NO NO i am not pregnant. but i had two friends that were and this place is conveniently located near my work. so i went in search of gifts for baby showers. they have everything a pregnant mom could need and cute stuff for the baby. i found this tower of shallow tin cans that had a powdered mix you could make to imprint your baby’s hands or feet in. there were five in each tower, one for each year until the baby turns five (in which case he/​she wouldn’t be a baby anymore i guess). i thought i was a nice keepsake for parents to have.
the man who helped me offered me tons of gift options without once making me feel pressured to buy anything. i put the two tin towers i wanted on hold and he assured me that they’d be on hold until the end of the next day but if i didn’t come to get them it would be no big deal. should i choose to come and pick them up, they’d be waiting for me.

There was absolutely no reason for me to be in this shop other than curiosity. I had been seeing so many baby strollers on my Pac Heights walks that I knew it was a neighborhood full of young families. This store quickly confirmed that.
The maternity clothes here were contemporary, oodles more chic than the silly maternity stuff we Baby Boomers had to choose from. Even their nursing bras are attractive! I liked that they also included a darling children’s clothing section at the back of the store. The shop had a few clever gift items, like a series of clay-​filled tins in which to capture new (and subsequent) handprints.
The fact that the owner is a young father himself adds positive energy to the place. As for first impressions – the shop fills a narrow, deep space so natural light is at a premium, so I wish it had a light colored, rather than black painted ceiling. Still, it’s in a convenient location for both new moms and grandmoms – you might even find parking on the street!
