Neptune’s Palace Banquets & Catering

2^nd time coming, might be the last one. Sour dough bread not fresh, hard to bite. Cioppino was to tomatoeish and over prized. Had to ask twice for water and soda refills. Not for a romantic date, too noisy.

Just yummy with spectacular views. I ate here 2 times in the last month for an anniversary and for visiting friends. The food is just delicious. A little expensive but you are paying for the atmosphere and excellent cooking. You want to take someone on a romantic date or wow your friends and family? Take them here! I would suggest you make reservations.

Waiter spilled water on a few people in our party, food was mediocre at best, overpriced for the quality & meal tickets were all wrong. Epic fail.

I had an amazing lunch at Neptune’s Palace. At first I had the seafood bisque with a touch of sherry (excellent), but the real deal was the sea bass. Not only was the fish so fresh but the textures and tastes of the sauce and vegetables was the best I have ever had. Kudos to the chef.

The food poisoning from this establishment was second to none. Imagine yourself coiled up in your bed, not sure whether to get up and vomit again, or to just keep praying that you will not actually have to vomit this time since you’ve already done so twelve times in the past three hours.
I highly recommend the Caesar Salad, because the dressing is made with raw eggs that are both delivered and stored in unregulated temperature environments, thereby breeding the perfect amount of salmonella to give this dish that proper zing!
After informing the establishment of the problem (both me and my fiancé were food poisoned there from the same dish and had the exact same symptoms), they were initially very apologetic (although seemingly unsurprised), and claimed they would mail me a check for the amount of our meal ($ 42.00) and an apology letter from their Director of Operations (Anthony). This letter and check never arrived. It is hard to imagine a fair compensation for the pain and suffering of two people who were on a trip to San Francisco to participate in a job interview, and as a result of the food poisoning obtained at Neptune’s Palace, could not even attend said interview, thereby wasting thousands of dollars on travel and tons of time both suffering from the symptoms of food poisoning, and following up with the Department of Health so that the problems at the restaurant can be resolved to prevent this from ever happening again to future patrons.
It leads me to wonder: if a Director of Operations at an «upscale» restaurant promises to send you a check and a letter of apology, and yet never does, do they also promise the Health Inspector to fix said problems and fail to deliver on that promise as well?
If you are planning on hosting an event here or just eating here as a patron, I highly advise against it. It’s not worth the risk, and their failure to keep their word on even the most simple of promises and smallest of gestures only illustrates further a general disregard for their customers that goes all the way to the top.

Great view of Alcatraz and a delicious Portobello mushroom burger. My boyfriend said the clam chowder was okay, but the sourdough bread was good.
Unfortunately, it took us forever to be seated. One couple came in about 15 minutes after us and was seated before us. The restaurant seemed terribly understaffed during the lunch hour, and we didn’t even see our waitress until 15ish minutes after we’d been seated.

My husband took me here last night. I started off with the berry bubbles, oh my goodness this was the best drink i ever had! I had three they were so yummy. We started with shrimp bruschetta and fish tacos. The shrimp bruschetta was like nothing i ever tasted it was so delicious. The bread was crunchy and soft and it just melted in my mouth. I was hoping that my husband would give me his but he didn’t share. Then i had the creamy clam chowder (everything came in a timely matter it was great, i hate eating and have long waiting for the next chorse) and the garlic prawns with pasta. Everything was great. And the view was a plus to. The next time they have fireworks that the place i want to be at, such a gorgeous view. So I know i would come here again, its hard to find good seafood and we found it here.

The place is pretty cool, you get to see an awesome view of the bay while enjoying a good seafood meal. The environment is very family kinda place so i suggest if you want to go here to enjoy a family day, then you should. The oysters are really good, and its GIGANTIC, literally. I would have to say the other foods are to say the least mediocre. But overall, the service is pretty good so i give this place a 3 star.

OK great view like everyone else says but the food isn’t up to par with other nice seafood restaurants. I guess it’s because it’s at the end of Pier 39 and they can get away with that. I however did not get a window seat. I didn’t mind really, and that’s not really the restaurant’s fault. I was there around 1pm so it was packed.
The waitress was very nice. You get bread with all orders. The prices of appetizers are from $ 10-​$ 15 while the meals are usually withing high teens and mid twenties for dollar price. There really wasn’t enough food for what I payed. It was a little bit of a mistake on my part because as I entered the restaurant I didn’t know it was going to be class. I went with it anyway because I decided to treat myself. The reward was underwhelming.
It’s simply a nice seafood place at the end of Pier 39. It’s not great, and it’s not terrible, but it’s alright.

If I could redo my choice of seafood restaurants to go to, it wouldn’t have been this one. The clam chowder however is very good. The view is very nice. The flavor of the seafood was not that great & that’s the MOST important thing to me when choosing a seafood restaurant. Don’t get the grilled swordfish… pretty flavorless.
The 3^rd star is for the view & clam chowder.

The view is gorgeous. especially arnd sunset, but I wasn’t too impressed by the food. Calamari was more batter than squid. The sea bass was pretty good size portion but I didn’t think the sauce complemented the fish.
