Got a pedicure & waxed and had a great experience. The girls working there are very nice and thorough. Great prices too!!!

I went here 2⁄11 chinese new year? Well, i got my nails done, full acrylic set. The girl that started me off seemed nervous, her hands shook so much my tips were crooked. she used the machine to try to get the thickness of the acrylic to come down so much that she burned the shit out of my nail by the cuticle area. I told her I would wait for the other lady doing the girl next to me, she quickly agreed. SHEDIDNOTKNOWHOWTODONAILS. SHEDIDTOES! How dare she even try to practice on a paying customer? my 1 hour nail procedure turned into a 2 ½ hour nightmare. The girl next to me started complaining to the lady I was waiting on and flat out asked her Do you think you did a good job on my nails? Do they look good to you? I felt bad for the lady, but this was a paying customer for crying out loud! so I totally agreed with the girl. needless to say the girl left upset and bitching how terrible and poor the work done was. I had hoped maybe this other lady would bemy saviour and fix me and she was no better than the other girl. do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. This place even has a sign on the wall letting you know they are not liable if they mess up on your nails??? Who does that?

I can’t speak for the nail work, but my barber of 3 years, Tommy, just relocated here from 6th Street in SOMA, and while this location is much less convenient for me I will be making the trip down to see him as much as possible. Tommy was popular with solid regular clientele at his prior location, as he goes over and above to give a solid cut and a great experience, and the value is untouchable anywhere. He’s also a super nice guy that you’ll feel good about doing business with. Hopefully the new location suits him well.

Went here once a while ago and it was just ok. I guess the ownership changed about a month ago. I went today to get waxed and had a great experience. The woman that worked on me was really nice and friendly. The place was much nicer and clear that it was before. She spent a ton of extra time plucking ingrown hairs. There was no rushing, she took her time to do a good job. I will definitely be back!

My sister, cousin and I all went here after buying a groupon for their signature mani/pedi. Everyone was really friendly! You know how sometimes you go to a nail salon and the ladies just grunt or don’t talk to you at all? That’s not this place at all. Everyone that helped me was super friendly and chatty and made me feel really comfortable. The hot stone massage was a nice touch and I really liked that their washcloths had tea tree oil. It’s been over a week since I got my nails done, and so far so good. They’ve seemingly lasted well. We also got a coupon for being a recurrent customer so if we go back we get a deal similar to the groupon discount. Overall, a good experience, especially for a group of people that rarely(if ever) get their nails done. The only thing that holds back that last star is that I wouldn’t recommend the place if you’re a really nit-picky OCD sort of person. I didn’t seem them disinfect their nail tools before they used them on me and I saw them just put them in the box after they used them on me. I also some someone else’s fingernails which I was trying really hard not to focus on. The place wasn’t REALLYDIRTY but there were a couple things I noticed and had I been a pickier person I might have been bothered by it.(They could have disinfected the instrument before or after they did my nails and I just didn’t see it, I don’t know).

Update– It was time for another haircut, so I decided to go up to Nails by Nancy and see if my second time was as good as my first. It wasn’t– it was better. I’m a guy who waits ’till his hair needs cutting, and goes in and gets it cut and leaves. No frills, no extras. This time, they offered to let me try the full manicure/pedicure/hot rocks/lotion/massage treatment. I was a little pressed for time, but I figured, «OK, let’s see what this is about.» Nancy cut my hair, and she did an excellent job. They paid attention to what I wanted, and added their own professional touch. Meanwhile, Tina did the full hand treatment, including nails, cuticles, lotion, oil, hot rocks, massage, and buff. Listen, I’m a guy who works with construction materials, and my hands & nails usually look like a disaster zone. I never really saw the value in all this treatment. But I gotta say, I like the finished way my nails look, and, hours later, my hands feel and smell great. Maybe it’ll help with my dry, tough palms. Then it was off to the pedicure stand where Tweetie did a detailed, attentive, and professional job on my feet and nails. My toenails are tough and they grow fast; I don’t give them much attention until they get out of hand. I move on concrete all day long and my feet don’t get much care. But the full treatment I received made me think that maybe I should show them a little love once in a while. By the time Tweetie was finished, I actually felt like my life was different. It was a tune-up I felt right into my bones. So this gruff old guy’s changing his mind about this kind of body care. Hours later, and after my day’s chores, I’m still zizzling; I actually notice that my hands and feet are thanking me. It’s worth the tip. Another big plus– At my last regular hair place, the people were always abandoning me to talk on the phone, socialize with each other, and sort of neglect me as a customer. It was habitual, and a little off-putting. The Nails by Nancy staff is customer-focused. It’s a welcome change. So I’m gonna make Nails by Nancy part of my regular routine.

So recently my fiancé told me they had remodeled, I decided to try them out since I’m always around the area. And I needed a mani&pedi asap, so I stopped by this morning. I loved the hot stone treatment they do on my hands and feet, in the end the price of $ 22 for both mani&pedi with hot stone treatment is well worth it. The only thing I had to complain about is that the person who was doing my nails were filing AGAINST my finger tips, so it was scratching me(it hurt). But besides that I loved my pedicure(which was done by a different person). I might come back once in a while, I just got to make sure I wont get the same person who did my manicure.

The manicurist at NbB was nice enough but in general the experience was not pleasant. I went on a weekday mid-morning. She and I were the only ones there. The place was pretty messy and not very professional/clean looking, considering the size of it. The nail polish selection is limited and all the paint is really old. My manicure lasted a few hours before it started chipping.
