My Little Learning Tree

I will always be grateful to My Little Learning Tree and the wonderful teachers for giving my son such a great start to his education. Prior to attending Pre-​K at MLLT, my son stayed home with me. He was always quite slow to warm up to new people and surroundings. I was so nervous to leave him, fearing he would have a hard time separating. My fears couldn’t have been further from reality! He absolutely loved his school, the teachers and his friends. Teacher Corinna (school director) was so reassuring and texted updates the first week to put my mind at ease. The environment is welcoming, loving and nurturing. The children’s snacks/​lunches are lovingly prepared by PoPo (Teacher Corinna’s mother). My son raved about PoPo’s food! It has been some time now since my son graduated from MLLT and he still asks to go back and visit his teachers. He entered elementary school with confidence and an excitement for learning. Thank you, MLLT!

Where to begin, let me first say that this place is so outstanding, I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. My son goes here and he just loves it, the entire staff is phenomenal, professional, kind, and you can tell they really love kids. I never think twice about how my son is doing when he’s here, I always know he’s happy and safe during the day, which is a real load off my mind when I’m downtown working.
I want to give a special thanks to Corinna’s Mom «Po Po» who personally makes the children’s meals everyday, she’s so kind, just the best, and everyone thinks of her as their second grandmother, I can’t say enough kind words about her, you’ll see what I mean when you meet her, just look for the biggest smile in the room, that’s her.
My wife and I toured about a half dozen places before choosing MLLT, and we chose them because from the moment we walked into the place, all of the children looked so happy, I can’t say that about the other places, we saw a lot of bored or disengaged kids, but not at MLLT, there the kids are bursting with joy.
My son loves soccer day, baseball day, dance day, you name it, he is even happy when he wakes up for school and can’t wait to go and see his friends.
This place is a solid 10 stars, don’t waste your time looking elsewhere :)

I am incredibly impressed by the quality and creativity of the programs — there is structured learning, lots of free playtime, and extra-​curricular activities like soccer and baseball. My boys come home all the time wanting to do dance party USA to show off their new dance moves!
We had the options of going to other preschools closer to my work, however liked MLLT given the diverse parent community too. My husband and I feel so fortunate to have found MLLT and want to thank Corinna, PoPo, Courtney, Allie, and Icee for all their love and care to our boys!

Words can’t express how grateful I am for the staff at My Little Learning Tree. I had visited 4 other neighboring schools and am so glad that my husband and I decided to enroll our (then) 2.5 year old daughter at My Little Learning Tree. The school’s philosophy is very much aligned with what we value at home. It was important for my husband and I to find a school that would foster our child’s sense of self, creativity, and responsibility. The teachers all hold degrees in child development and come from a place of mindful care-​taking. The all-​female staff is young, enthusiastic, and energetic enough to keep up with my active child. They believe in redirection as their main form of discipline which is perfect for my little explorer. They take the time to give me daily updates on my child’s behavior and development.
Upon enrollment, my main wish was for my 2.5 year old daughter to learn how to socialize. She has now been at this school for about a year and is thriving socially and academically. Before reaching age 3, she could name all the days in the week, name all the months in the year, write her own name, identify world landmarks, etc. The curriculum involves a monthly theme from which teachers organize learning. For example, one month, they learned about habitats. My daughter came home singing songs about animals and their environments. She brought home art projects that revolved around habitats and was able to tell me where and how each animal lived. One day, she bundled herself up in her blanket, and told me she was «hibernating». Totally impressive for an almost-​3 year old!
Also included in the curriculum are enrichment programs such as dance, baseball, and soccer. My daughter is shaping up to be a well-​rounded little person who loves to learn in all areas!
Not only have I been impressed by how much my daughter has picked up in terms of social, academic, and athletic skills, but I’ve learned a thing or two myself! When I sensed the start of a behavioral problem, I asked Director Corinna Leung how I should handle the issues. Corinna promptly took action, asked my daughter’s teacher for feedback, and called a meeting with my husband and myself. She gave us solid advice on how to handle different scenarios at home, and she even provided a parenting book that has been quite useful in our household.
Corinna Leung is the heart of My Little Learning Tree. When I first toured the school, it was clear that she loved each one of her students. She’s kind, gentle, respectful, funny, knowledgeable, and approachable. She’s a great role model for my daughter to follow, learn from, and love. I’m so grateful for the education that my daughter is receiving from My Little Learning Tree. I would recommend this school to any parent looking for a trustworthy caring staff with an awesome program.

Our daughter is now in a highly acclaimed kindergarten. The teachers have told us her hand is up at every question. Today, we started to discuss the human immune system, and our daughter started to explain to my husband and I (two former Stanford pre-​meds) how it worked. She learned the concepts at My Little Learning Tree.
How in God’s name these folks, and our daughter’s former teacher, Teacher Icee, could convey this to 5 year olds is mind blowing.
This is an amazing place. The emotional and intellectual nourishment blows away what I can articulate in words. As much as we appreciated MLLT when our daughter was attending there, we are now seeing the fruits of their accelerated instruction and the tremendous platform of self-​confidence they instill in their students.

This is an excellent preschool! Our son has been attending for the last year and he simply loves it. He has really thrived under their guidance and love. Their approach is creative play and developmentally focused. They did a great job of helping my son acclimate to preschool and thrive. He is so proud of all of his artwork and he has simply bloomed while being there. They do a great job with tricky transitions, setting limits in a firm but loving way, and have very little turnover (both for children and staff). Very safe and fun atmosphere (both physically and emotionally which is so important at this age). They do field trips, and the kids even play baseball on a weekly basis. Their hours are flexible (as early as 7:30a to as late as 6p) and the rate is terrific. I really could not be more pleased!

MLLT is a fantastic neighborhood school that is sorely lacking in SF. Corinna, the owner/​director of the school, is very dedicated and knows each of her students very well. She tells each parent how the student’s day went during pick-​up on a daily basis. Our son is three and has blossomed socially since attending there. His teacher Ashley is great with kids and brings a lot of energy to the classroom each day.
Corinna has added some great programs to the curriculum recently. The kids are taking baseball lessons in the nearby playground twice a week. There is an upcoming international food week where each family brings a dish that they eat at home to share with their friends. Corinna hosts parties at school regularly and it’s a great way for us to meet other parents and to watch our son interact with his friends. All in all, MLLT works hard to make learning fun for kids in a very safe environment. We feel very fortunate to have found the school and our son looks forward to school every morning. That’s the proof in the pudding!

Thank you again for taking care of our daughter. She has learn to socialize, write, potty train, sing, dance, and create at your preschool. Your constant caring and observation of her needs has made your place a safe haven and fun place for her. We appreciate all the field trips, parties, and special gifts you have shared. We have almost all her projects up at our home. Our house looks a little bit like an Art Exhibition. Thank for also taking the time to text when there have been issues. That just made us feel more assured your place was the right place for her. If we could give more than a 5 star review we would.

An organized preschool with a variety of original creative activities. The owner/​director, Corinna, has a degree in early education and is a natural at teaching and gently navigating the activities of the day. Parents are updated daily about their childs develoment and the parent-​teacher conferences have been some of the best I have experienced.

Great place for a preschooler! There is a designated space for playing, learning and doing arts and crafts. It’s every child’s dream because there are so many age appropriate activities from puzzles to paints to books. My two boys didn’t want to leave on their first visit. As a parent, I love the fact that the preschool provides healthy meals and snacks (It’s one less thing you have to worry about when getting ready in the morning). But most importantly, the preschool teacher provides an open line of communication!!!
