Haircuts for men are $ 12 and women are $ 18. If you want a hair wash, it’s an additional $ 20. The haircuts are decent and he can do layers but personally I’ll go somewhere else next time. The staff speaks Chinese, Vietnamese and some English.

First of all, I’ve very short hair and I really only go to barbers for a simple buzz, but this place is a treat for me. The prices here are very reasonable(so much so that I often leave a hefty tip) and the care with which the kind owner works makes it feel like family.

So I walked in on a lazy Saturday afternoon, and was greeted by a Chinese woman with a *horrible* accent(I could barely understand anything she said, which was made worse by her soft voice). The haircut itself was horrible, and she kept making excuses how it is difficult to cut Asian hair… Even during cutting, her movements were clumsy, and there was minimal use of scissors. Instead of brushing the hair off of me, she focused more on blowing the hair off of herself! In the end the sides were uneven, lumpy, and my hair overall looked worse than when I came in. I will definitely not be coming here again.

Cheap, quality cut. One of my cousins was getting his hair cut and I went with him to his«spot» since it was near his house. I decided to change my hairstyle so I went in for a cut as well. how bad could it be? I walked in and the place is pretty clean for the Tenderloin. It was a little hard to communicate with the stylists, but they were very nice. It was only ten bucks for a cut, and it went pretty nicely. I got out pictures of what I wanted from their magazines and just pointed and said, «This one please.» After about fifteen minutes my hair came out as advertised. I left a $ 2 tip, satisfied with my look. I didn’t walk in expecting something like Master Cuts, and was pleased with what I came out with. Its a great cut for ten bucks and I’d come back again. If you want a full-blown stylist, this probably isn’t the place to go to, but if you’re looking for a cheap quality haircut, I’d recommend this place.

So after five years, I finally decided to grow these microscopic dots on my dome called hair. I was aiming for the Fabio look. Like usual everybody has bumpy starts, being patient gradually awaiting to have my sexy Fabio-do. Within three weeks 2.5 inches of what looked like Broccoli had over taken my head and sexy just didn’t arrive… So instead of letting my hair grow, I decided to take my sorry Broccoli Ovacado head to Mydo Hair Design(now called Mydo Beauty Salon) for a trim. The last time I went to Mydo was 6 years ago. I remember a very friendly crowd of Chinese barbers who I’d struggled to conversate with and outcomes of hair cuts that I didn’t really care of. First words I hear as I enter this business, «Oh so long, oh come take a sheeet, take a sheeet.» I took a seat just so eager to explain to the barber exactly how I want my hair done. «I want it trimmed on both sides…» In the midst of explaining, the buzzer turned on and I started to shiver uncontrollably. 15 minutes later, believe it or not SEXYWASINTOWN. I walked around, nose up high, flaunting my new hair do, satisfied with the $ 12 haircut. I wish my hair would have stayed that way for all eternity, but 2 weeks later, The Brocolli roots coup d’etat my Sexiness. Once again I was back in the hot«sheeet.» I asked for the same haircut as the last time. This time I was cool like George Clooney all through out the process, confident with my barber. Onced finished I glanced in the mirror, paid and walked out the door in confusion. Once I came out, it’s then that my brain clicked. I looked like a mushroom, no seriously! I went from Brocolli to handsome, to worst, Bert from Sesame Street! Don’t laugh! So much for growing my hair out… Three stars for getting it right the first time and my overrall experience with you guys. Two Thumbs down for making me look like a Bert-mushroom. And just to let you know Mydo don’t expect me to be back, because I’m baldy again.

The stylists here speak passable English, don’t leave your hair full of divots or gashes and they only cost $ 10. There are 3 people here cutting hair, but seems to get busy around 5:30/6.
