Mission Dental Health

This is the first time I’ve been to the dentist since moving to S.F. I was looking to have a a simple cleaning, nothing more. Naturally, I looked to Unilocal to find a decent dentist in my neighborhood. Lo and behold, Mission Dental Health popped up. They have early hours (8:00 AM), so I called and was seen soon after making the appointment.
I had the pleasure of having the affable Dr. Glick as my dentist. He took the time to explain every part of the procedure to me, which was pretty unique. I can’t think of any dentist I’ve seen prior taking the time to do something like that. It made for kind of a cool experience. Teeth are pretty interesting.

Everyone here is the best. Super friendly, professional, and affordable. I have no insurance and settled on Mission Dental Health because of the good reviews. I got a cleaning with x-​rays for $ 99 and bought the Unilocal deal that got me a new filling for $ 100. All the hygienists are really nice and personable and my dentist was equally fantastic. I can’t recommend them enough!

Dr. Glick s the best dentist ever! He has been my dentist for years. I followed him from his old practice to Mission Dental Health even though it was much farther away. It’s also important to me that the entire staff is friendly and helpful.

Dr. Cecilia Cárdenas invited me to her bible study before she even started cleaning my teeth. She went on and on about her divorce and her relationship with God for the entirety of my visit and then had the gall to encourage me to «reach out» to her via her personal phone number and email address for details about the bible study group.
I’m not religious, and I did tell her that, but it made no difference to her. Talk about impolite, trapping your patient in an unwanted conversation about very personal topics. I will not be returning.

Love this place. Dr. Weitz and his team are five stars all the way. Very friendly hospitable, great bedside manner’s, up to speed on technology, and they just really care about people. Definitely a place you can trust.

It’s very hard relocating, knowing you have to rebuild your circle of healthcare providers, hair stylist, finding the local post office, car mechanic, etc. Finding a dentist is no different, and can be really unnerving, particularly if you have not had the best experience in the past. As a healthcare provider myself, it means a lot to me that you are not only knowledgeable and competent in the care you provide, but that you also make your client feel at ease.
I highly recommend Dr. Quandt at Mission Dental Health! After not seeing a dentist for nearly three years, it came as no surprise that I was in need of some additional dental work, that included coming back for some fillings. Dr. Quant told me the reasons for all of his recommendations, which fillings were more urgennt, and which ones could wait. I just finished up with him after my subsequent visit for a filling, which I had been dreading all day. But Dr. Quant’s calm, and reassuring demeanor made my cavity filling, the most pleasant anybody could expect in this situation. He used a topical anesthetic to ease the pain you often feel with the lidocaine, and I had very minimal discomfort through the entire procedure. He and his dentil assistant Patricia are a real team, and very warm, competent, caring providers.
If you have been putting of your dental appointment, out of fear of the dentist, I have utter confidence that under Dr. Quandt’s care at Mission Dental Health, you will wonder why you had been putting it off in the first place. Book your appointment with Dr. Quandt, you won’t regret it!

Donnie was my therapist/​hygienist — I will be returning!

Today my friend Leah Weitz recommended this dental office to take care of my tooth ache. The atmosphere was very San Francisco. My x-​ray and tooth cleaning was done by Donny. He was really careful with the instruments he was using and made sure that I was comfortable. He is very knowledgeable about his craft and was giving me pointers on some preventative measures. All in all I was pleased with the service. Thank you Leah! Friend to the end.

Sonia Mendez has now opened her own practice in South San Francisco — I will be visiting her there!

Dr. GLICK is very professional and passionate in his diagnosis and treatment skills. I did a lot of shopping around before coming in as a new parient, and couldn’t have found a better practice to seek tearment.

Dr. Glick was a total lifesaver! He fixed my chipped tooth for a very reasonable rate and did a perfect job in about 15 minutes. I don’t have a regular dentist so when things like this come up, I obviously turn to Unilocal.I was eating dinner on a friday night and a huge piece of enamel chipped off of my tooth, it was really painful and sharp and was cutting up my tongue all weekend, but they were able to fit me in bright and early on monday morning so I could get the issue addressed. It turns out it was easily fixable. Thank you so much for your help! I will definitely come here for any future dental needs.

I just visited this dentist office and saw Dr. Glick… The entire staff was amazing in terms of a warm welcome, knowledgable, precise and thoughtful responses. I was pleasantly satisfied and honestly wanted to stay longer. Being new to an area, it is often nerve wrecking to switch doctors and dentist but this visit gave me hope for good care in SF!
I can appreciate nice teeth and when I asked for a cosmetic recommendation, I received the best advise in terms of what would be best for my case, versus for their revenue steam.
I am excited to return and use their teeth composite service for a nice lengthening. Pictures to come!

I have been coming here for almost twenty years, and have had great experiences every time with all the dentists, staff, and technicians. Everyone here is friendly, helpful, and very thorough, and after every appointment I’ve left feeling very satisfied. Thanks Mission Dental!

Unbelievable. I can no longer say I hate going to the dentist. It was a snap. Dr. Mendez and her staff are just about the sweetest things ever. I trust them completely and they are extremely gentle. My Novocaine is worn off, I had the work done today on a gnarly cavity and I have ZERO discomfort. 10 stars!!!

I visited Dr. Mendez today for the first time. I quit my job and became self-​employed two years ago. So I had been putting off visiting the dentist. Thought it would cost too much. But it didn’t. Not here. And even if I had insurance again, I would continue to come to Dr. Mendez because she was great. Professional. Sincere. Thorough and she took the time to explain what she was doing and why. Great.

As much as I hate going to the dentist and having my teeth drilled into, I love this place! I’ve been going here for years and have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. They always follow up with me and they call to remind me of my appointments. And they’re always clear about what my choices are and how much I will have to pay out of pocket. It’s a great choice right in the heart of the neighborhood.

10 stars for this office. I was here today and had the best time I’ve ever had at any doctors office. The staff are so nice and so easy to get along with. Everyone is EXTREMELY helpful!!! I called them 4 times with questions and requests for appointment changes and they were always patient, genuine and through. I practically fell in love with everyone in this office. They are like one big, professional family!
I saw Dr. Mendez while here, she is probably the best dentist on the entire planet, I can’t wait to go back to her.
Their office is also great. Green plants, windows and fresh air. A comfortable waiting room, lots of natural light. Everything was very comfortable. I LOVE mission Dental health.

I’ve been going to Dr. Glick for 10 years now, and he’s been a great dentist. Right in the heart of the mission, quality dentistry. I’ve been blessed with good dental health and needed only one filling thus far, which he did. He also referred me to an endodontist when I had a more bizarre condition which turned out not to be dental at all but an intense sinus infection.
Dr. Glick also happens to be a great Spanish teacher, as my amazing friend Lauren can attest! :-)

I started having pain in #16 (somewhere in the back of my mouth) — I phoned Mission Dental Health last minute on Thursday (someone actually picked up after 5pm) and scheduled a quick apt with Dr. Mendez for the following day…
Dr. Mendez took a few xrays to determine that my wisdom tooth was the sore problem — I chose the option to come back seven hours later and have her yank it from my skull — I totally did not anticipate having my wisdom tooth pulled last minute, at the end of the day — so naturally I was freaked out — But I was assured by her and her staff that everything would be okay.
I drove up at 3:30pm — Walked straight in — lead to the table — and was numbed up straight away — Dr. Mendez started her work and noticed a small cavity in the tooth right next to the wisdom tooth — we went ahead and filled it, which literally took more time than pulling out the wisdom tooth — I started shaking just of the thought of having my last w-​tooth pulled but when I realized that all I would feel is pressure, I started to relax a bit — Light pressure here, light pressure there and done.
I thought I would hear cracks and yanks and pulls and yuck… but no! It came out smooth as a whistle — I actually quite enjoyed the feeling but that’s another story — I told a friend later (who still has all four of his w-​teeth) that I would much rather have four more w-​teeth to pull than to have a cavity filled — only due to the drilling (drives me bonkers) but Dr. Mendez did such a rad job on both procedures … she’s my dentist for life!
I am happy to have a friend who highly suggested her, now its my duty to make sure ALL of my friends know about her!
I am submitting this review the day after my wisdom tooth was pulled and I feel perfectly fine — NO bleeding — NO swelling — NO pain …
anybody want my 15 Vicodin pills? jk,

I found them through my insurance online directory. Dr. Mendez is very nice & caring. She was even concerned about another tooth that may be possibly rotting due to an old filling. So she called me back to come in. But she also forgot to look at another tooth, so she wants me to come back again, but she is currently out on maternity leave. I just feel hesitant to see some other dentist & not to mention that I would’ve been there thrice in 2 months!
