Classy joint. Not only did they mess up my friend’s order, it took 15 minutes to make 2 burritos for the only people in the restaurant. Prices are really high. Décor was nice, but there was no TP in the restroom — WTF?! My burrito frankly sucked major donkey and my friend’s was«edible.» $ 15 incl tip for 2 really terrible burritos, only one of which had meat? PASS.

I asked for black beans, no rice and no tortillas. I got refried beans with rice and tortillas. But I also got a delicious egg and veggie mix that more than satisfied my hunger after a night of dancing. Not sure those eggs were whites only, but today, it didn’t really matter. Service was friendly, and in reading other Unilocal, can’t wait to come back for some pupusas.

Not that I am any expert on papusas… at all but this place is really good. Went here on a Monday with a friend who just came back from South and Central America and he was craving these little gems. Now I know why. They are tasty! I also had some sort of fried corn pockets that were filled with chicken. They were shaped like empanadas and they were fried heaven! I would definitely go here again if I remember to make the trip. It is not the first area you think about when trying to decide where to get food. Its a swell place though. check it out!

I agree with Ben V, this place is pupusa heaven. It’s a little off the beaten bath for the typicall Nission dweller, I found out about it after a visit to Royal Motors across the street. This is definitely a local spot, very family oriented, very friendly people, the food is a mix of Mexican and Salvadorean. We went for lunch and ordered 2 pupusas each. Wow, these things were huge, cheesy, filling, piping hot, delicious. If you like puposas, then Mi Tierra has to be on your list.

Papusas! When I get the urge for some papusas, I usually head down to El Zocolo on 30th& Mission. But since this place is so close to my job I had to try it out. It’s not located on the prettiest block of South Van Ness as it sits between two independent garages, a burned down vacant apartment building, and a body shop across the street. Despite the industrial surroundings, like Walzwerk, this restaurant truly is a hidden gem. The menu consists of your traditional Central American/Mexican cuisine, so no need to go into great detail. The tacos were pretty good and what I expected: plenty of meat, very tasty carne asada(it’s kinda hard to fuck up a taco, you know). But the papusas, damn! I ordered the pork and cheese and they were fantastic. As good as El Zocolo’s I’d say. Very friendly service, and a great value too. The only problem is, the papusas really make you crave beer, and that’s not good on a work day for some of us. I’m gonna have to check out the karaōke one of these days. Hopefully they have some Engelbert Humperdinck.

oh snap. someone already posted a review for this place… and this week, too! You win, Ben V. Seeing as how my friend lives in the same building, you’d think I’d have visited this place quite often. I only ate here once and I still remember the delicious fried plantains. yum. Definitely off the beaten path, but worth it if you’re looking for some well-prepared El Salvadorean food. The giant TV playing soccer games and Spanish karaōke only adds to the charm.(Though I suspect my friend isn’t as appreciative of the latter.)

Hands down, the best pupusas I’ve had in San Francisco. This place is a little hidden gem of edible delight. Excellent guacamole, really interesting veggie pupusa selection of native salvadorean veggies I’ve never even heard of. Super friendly service and quality agua fresca. I’m lucky to have jumped on the Mi Tierra bandwagon early, and I’ll be sure to eat here often.
