Ah, I’m sorry to see this cute little place close! They had a unique tasty chai (the rose petal one), and was a chill place to get some work done. Looks like I won’t be able to try their milk tea…

Cute café with free wifi. There is usually at least one table open. There isn’t a lot of space, but this café doesn’t get too busy either.
The boba here is subpar. The almond milk tea tasted like mostly milk. I barely tasted any tea. The Thai tea was extremely sweet. The boba was way too soft and tasted like it has been sitting out all day. The plus is that there’s a free size upgrade on boba tea and it’s only $ 3 ($ 0.50 extra for boba).

This is a cute little café with interesting teas and drinks. Nice stop before heading into Golden Gate Park.
The scone was quite good and I also enjoyed the tea pot (free refills). The rose chai was a single large cup of tea. It was flavorful and not too sweet but difficult to drink (because you have to strain the petals).
Great little stop and not too busy, so you’re guaranteed a seat in a cute bistro like setup.

The rose chai latte is delicious and it was huge !! The rose petals added an extra touch to the latte. Highly recommend it.
We were three ladies and we ordered the full tea set for $ 19. It was average. Not outstandingly delicious.
The place is very clean. Nice place to hang out for a couple of hours with friends.
I will probably not come back. It was average.

This is such a cute little café in Inner Sunset. They have a variety of tea selections, usually served with some jam and a bite-​sized piece of baklava. The boba is okay, but I’ll still get it once in a while.
The café has a nice, peaceful atmosphere which makes it a great place to study, work or just read. There are a fair amount of outlets too (something I usually look out for if I’m in a café to work). It’s usually quiet, so it’s very easy for everyone to overhear your conversation if you’re talking with someone.

I only came here for boba and it was ok. I ordered the black milk tea with boba. My friend ordered the almond milk tea with boba. The boba was a bit too soft and not that sweet. The tea itself was good. I tried my friend’s almond milk tea. You can taste the almond, but it was a lot more sweeter than mine. The inconsistency shocked me.
I liked it was a cute location and a tea house. I want to come back to try their food and cookies.

Decently priced and relaxing experience :) Must try the Golden Lavendula tea! I am down for more anytime.

AMAZING TEA PLACE + PERFECT SCONES!!!
My girlfriend and I stopped by this adorable café because she lives near by and we wanted a place to study with nice atmosphere. The shop is filled with elegant decorations, cute furniture and delicious treats for purchase. The pleasant wait staff were attentive while not being too pushy or overbearing.
We ordered the «Light Afternoon Tea» which came with a pot of tea for two, a tea sandwich, baklava, a fruit cup and a scone with jam. The scone was TO DIE FOR! IT was perfectly crispy on the outside and warm and soft inside and coupled with the rose petal jam was an absolute treat! We ordered the cucumber cream cheese and mint sandwich, and it was excellent. The Golden Lavandura tea was beautifully presented and went nicely with the meal. It was a bit more bland than I would have guessed.
We also ordered the black milk tea and jasmine milk tea with pearls. The tea was definitely tasty, but the tapioca pearls were a bit harder than I prefer.
Overall, we had a great experience and the wifi was fast and served our study purposes!

The place is clean and just ok. I came here with a friend for high tea and overall experience was just ok. I ordered the apple cinnamon tea with the full high tea. The tea tasted a little watered down and the items that was offered for the high tea was a little underwhelming.
I would recommend you to experience it yourself but i don’t think i’ll return anytime soon.

AWESOME BOBA TEA IN INNER SUNSET + good study spot!
First of all, the overall environment of the shop is very soothing. Everything is very tidy and there are plenty of room to stand and enough tables and chairs to sit down. There are also electric outlets and free WIFI so you can definitely get some work done there!
About the drink… There aren’t as many unique flavors but the PORTION IS PRETTY BIG. What I would consider a tall/​grande/​large at other shops is regular size here and only costs $ 3. There are also fruit drinks, tea, milk tea, etc. If you want boba, it’s and extra $ 0.50.
I got the jasmine tea. It is REALLY PRETTY to look at! When you get it, the bottom layer is black (tea), and the top layer is orange (milk). It is ON THE SWEET SIDE, but the flavor was good. I could not finish it in one sitting… just too much sugar. But my friend got the passion fruit tea, and it has a really nice smell to it.
Like I mentioned, there are tables and chairs to sit down, so you can bring your laptop and get work done. They also sell sandwiches and other snacks, so you can always grab something little to eat when you get hungry working.
Overall, great place to hang out/​work!

I came in today because I wanted a quiet place to study and UCSF library is closed in the morning on the weekends. I was going to go to another café but this place seemed quieter. The place advertised free wifi, so I assumed it was meant to attract people who want to sit down with their drink and read, which is what enticed me to stop in.
At first glance the layout was unique. The place was adorned with pastries, mugs, and décor, all of which were for sale. I originally wanted to try their Rose Chai tea but after perusing the menu I noticed that it was a little expensive ($ 5.00). I opted for a small Mango Milk Green Tea for $ 3.25. The drink came out very quickly in a large size and the server said that upgrades are free! The Mango Milk Green Tea was delicious and flavorful, and had that astringency that is characteristic of a strong green tea which I love. I opted out of getting the boba because it was too early in the day for that but to my understanding, it would have been the same price either way.
I’ve been sitting here for around an hour and a half and it is lovely and quiet enough to study. I agree that this place isn’t a teahouse, but I was looking for more of a café-​type place which is exactly what I got, so I approve!

Some pretty delicious bubble tea here, with good prices and fast service. They give you a lot of tapioca balls, and they are appropriately soft. It’s also in a convenient location on Irving, which is nice. I’ll definitely be stopping back in.

My sole purpose of coming here today was to check out their high tea. I have had high tea at just about everywhere in San Francisco, from Neiman Marcus to the Palace hotel to Lovejoys and everyone in between, so I wanted to check out a new place.
When I arrived, the place was pretty empty. There was a girl at the counter but she didn’t say anything to me until I was literally in front of the counter. We sat down and she brought us some menus. The lack of customer service remained the same throughout our meal.
We ordered 2 full afternoon teas at $ 19 per person. According to the menu, which was full of writing and stuff marked off with a marker, it states we can pick a pot of tea or anything off of the espresso menu. I picked the rose chai and the girl at first told me that I could not pick that and then all of a sudden, without me saying a word, she said OK. I don’t know what that was about.
The rose chai tasted just like a watered down chai with some rose petals and cinnamon on top. We also had a lavender chai and it was identical to the rose one with the exception that it had a small scoop of lavender on top. So they basically have a basic chai that is more milk than chai and they just top it with lavender or rose depending on what your preference it. They charge $ 5 for a small cup of this.
The food no longer comes in a 2 tiered platter. It now comes on a big dish. You get 4 tiny sandwiches, 2 cucumber and 2 chicken salad. The sandwiches were so small that all four didn’t add up to one full sandwich. You also get 2 small crackers with eggs salad on top and a small cup of fruit. Also, they don’t serve devonshire cream or lemon curd with your scones, just jelly. There are no crumpets and you get a choice of one dessert, Baklava or cheesecake. You don’t get any mini desserts.
Also, it’s clear that nothing is made in house and they shop at Costco. I recognize the madelines that they sell for 75 cents a piece as those from Costco as well as other baked goods that they sell there.
Overall, if you’re looking for traditional or standard afternoon tea, this is not it. If you’re looking for full size portions, this is not it. They are clearly cutting corners. If you are looking for service, this is not it either. They wouldn’t know what customer service is even if it hit them across the face. This is how they were with everyone, not just us. If you are looking to be served a half assed afternoon tea full of baked goods from Costco, then you have found the right place!

Cute vintage interior with little knickknacks everywhere. Very quiet, seems like a promising place to study.
I settled with the rose chai latte. It was ginormous. Tasted more like a milk tea than it did chai tea. Had fresh dried (is that an oxymoron?) roses in it. I was expecting more cinnamon

I agree with Mikah M, this is not a traditional tea lounge. This is just more like a sandwich shop slash wanna be tea lounge.
Tea selections are very minimum and the price is expensive for a pot of tea.
The cucumber sandwich is good but nothing spectacular.
I came here on Sunday with my friends after our work out at Burn. The sign says they are open at 10am we walked in at 11:40 and they only had one person working trying to juggle making boba tea for 6 other people who sat at the nearby table who came before us. When the waiter came she was rushing and frazzle.
We had our pot of tea and our sandwiches quick enough because we needed to be at Imperial Spa at Japan Town for the next an hour.
Anyway, I come here only to get the cucumber sandwich and pass the time with a pot of Chrystantium tea but I never had the feeling being at a tea lounge.
For real tea experience I will stick to Love Tea Joy.

This is a really cute little spot to eat and study. I came with one of my long time friends and we had an assortment of sandwiches and assorted fruits. My favorite was the chicken salad and the smoked salmon. It was very light. I also like how there are flowers around its great. I will be back.
Their lavender chai I had to go order to-​go but the petals were clogging up the flow :/​it was good but that was a problem.

I stopped in on a Satutday during my lunch break. I needed to get out of the office and into the sun and decided to enjoy a lunch here.
Been eyeing the place since it opened, but found the prices to be a little high.
I ordered the Egg Salad sandwich with Salad and Carmel Milk Tea w/​Boboa.
The sandwich was BIG and yummy. Packed full of egg, dill, mustard on a yummy wheat bread. The salad was also massive and covered the whole other side of the plate, a little skimpy on the dressing but still very tasty. I left completely full.
My tea was good. Had a lot of positive flavor and the Boboa was nice and chewy, just how I like it.
The décor here is an interesting blend, it doesn’t all match which is part of the charm I suppose.
I’d absolutely return when I feel like splurging.
Staff were mostly friendly. It was pretty dead, the server/​cashier/​drink-​maker was on her cell phone a lot reading and or texting, which is fine, I totally understand, but I just wish she had checked in on me one time before I had completed my meal.

This awesome tea place is where I can sit down, focus on my zen, and come out feeling relaxed and refreshed. I love all the teas here; the bubble milk tea which is fresh, not concentrated, and artificial like other places and the regular tea which comes in a clear teapot. This warm tea relieves my body of toxins and other wastes. Lovely and refreshing!
Mellow Mellow always has deals going on, on Unilocal or on their milk teas. One time it was buy two get one free and most recently upgrade to a large tea size for free. Since this place is isolated from the busy inner streets of irving, it is easier to concentrate and focus on my work. I can rely on this place for a study room, or just to have a great time with family and friends. This is my o to place when I am in this neighborhood!

One of my favorite places to grab a cup of tea, eat some soup, and study study study.
Located right on Irving St., this small little treasure is a great place for small intimate café dates, study sessions, some time alone with a journal or a good book, a tea party, or a place just to grab some boba and move right along.
Their menu includes everything you need for a good tea party. Salads, soups, pastries, and sandwiches make up the food, and teas and coffees make up their beverage section. You are able to get orders to go, or drink in. They have great combos where you can share sandwich triangles and cookies with a cute pot of tea, which I have yet to do, but have seen others do. It’s ridiculously cute, like an easter bunny with baby chicks all over it in spring. They also have different meals and such which are well priced as well. My go to is the chicken and rice soup, or the smoked salmon sandwich.
Their teas and coffees are great as well! all pretty lightly sweetened which is my style. My usual order is a mango green tea with boba. Nomzz. Not the #1 place for boba considering the places around it, but will do!
Other positives include a lovely staff, flowers all over the place (they also sell flowers! and tea sets!) and free wifi!
Another go-​to place on Irving for me :)

I saw this place a few weeks ago and wanted to try it with one of my close friends. We walked in and noticed the cute décor. There are tea sets lining the walls by the register. The back of chairs resemble branches with birds on them. Very cute.
I have never been to a tea room before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We asked the server her recommendation. We ended up ordering the Full Afternoon Tea Set. The server explained that each set is meant for one individual, but the Full Afternoon Tea Set can be shared. We just won’t be full from it. That was fine with me and my friend. We figured, if we wanted to be full, we can just order more.
This set includes a tea pot, 4 tea sandwiches, 3 egg salad on crackers, one scone, a cup of seasonal fruit, and one pick of Turkish Baklava, chocolate ginger mousse, ginger milk curd, or cheesecake. They ran out chocolate ginger mousse and ginger milk curd and since Turkish Baklava sounded new and interesting, we chose to try that.
We picked the Golden Lavendula for our tea pot, which included marigold, jasmine, lavender, and rose petal. This and the Sweet Dream were the most popular. According to their menu, the Golden Lavendula combination helps beautify the skin and promote positive emotions. Which sounds perfect because my friend and I have been stressing over exams and this was what we needed. I was a little worried that the tea would be too flowery but it was perfect. There was a floral scent but not overwhelmingly so. It tastes like what you expect of tea. Unless, of course, a flower petal slips into your glass and you bite into it. Then you’ll have a burst of flowery flavors.
The egg salad on crackers were delicious. It’s an egg salad topped with dried tomatoes and olives. It’ was a nice savory snack.
There were two different types of tea sandwiches. One was cucumber and cream cheese with fresh mint leaves. The other was diced chicken breast, diced apples, raisin, basil leaves, and cream cheese. Both were delicious and refreshing. I loved the added taste of fresh herbs.
The berry scone was a little bit dry and the berry was a little sour but they provided us with a citrus jam. When you put the jam on the scone, it tasted amazing. I couldn’t believe how much a difference jam makes with the scone.
I was not impressed with the Turkish baklava. I thought it was too sweet and the phyllo was too hard. It was the only part of the tea set that I didn’t like as much. I semi wished I had gotten the cheesecake instead.
Overall, I really loved my first tea experience here and I would definitely return. The atmosphere is really quiet so if you’re in SF, and you’re looking for a place to study, this is the perfect place for it too. I saw a couple people doing that.
