Incredible convenience coupled with amazing service!
We feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Marcia. She is an incredible vet with a heart of gold. She and her assistant, Megan, are so good with our dog. They both love and care for her as if she’s their own. They’re incredibly gentle and have her best interests at heart. We know that we can call or email them anytime with any issues, and they respond as quickly as they can. It’s so comforting to know that we can depend on them for the health of our pet.
And the fact that Dr. Marcia and Megan come to our house at a time that’s convenient for us is such a perk! For the dog too — the vet visit is done in the comfort of home.
I have to admit — we tried other vets in the city, only to be disappointed by the service. I can’t recommend Medrano Vets enough. I only wish Shima had been them since the beginning.

We have two animals – Peaches – a wheaton/​chow/​poodle – 7ish and a beautiful black cat, Jet! Dr. Marcia and Megan make great connections with both of them and the trip to the vet is smooth as silk! OMG! Check them out. No more shivering and shaking in the waiting room, traveling across town – parking, etc. Smooth as silk consultations and I have a clear sense and power to make the right decisions for my animals – not the vet! You know those people who are so pleased they create Unilocal accounts just to post one review? That’s me. Right now. Dr. Marcia and Megan were fantastic. I moved to SF two weeks ago from NYC and needed to establish a relationship with a vet ASAP. My normally skittish full-​size greyhound was immediately put at ease by their caring attitudes and delicious treats. She got a full checkup, a great nail clipping, and even posed for pictures afterward! I cannot express enough how thankful I am to have had such two caring professionals visit my dog in the comfort of my own home! It was a zero-​stress experience and worth every penny. I would definitely recommend Dr. Marcia to anyone looking for a vet. She and Megan were punctual and had some great advice. They are willing to answer any and all questions, and I never felt rushed!

Dr. Marcia and Megan saved the day today for our cat, Kevi. It was our first experience with a veterinary house call and I don’t think we’ll ever go back to the veterinary office (or another vet) if we can help it! Thank you Dr. Marcia and Megan!

Dr. Marcia and Megan have taken excellent care of my new cavapoo puppy. They are thorough, professional and incredibly loving. They not only accommodate your schedule and come to your home, but they bring all kinds of things that you need and provide them for free. I have emailed and/​or texted them several times after the visit and they continue to give me advice and even follow up – all at no cost to me. Its incredible what kind of service they provide. My puppy is getting the best care all at an affordable rate. I couldnt recommend them more.

Hands down the best veterinary experience Turtle the Cat and I have ever had in our 9 years together!
Dr. Marcia and Megan were super flexible and even though I was a new client and even though it was late, and the weekend, they made a next day house-​call/​appointment to come see Turtle for some post air-​travel care.
Since then they’ve been sure to follow up regularly and are incredibly responsive. It’s clear they really truly care about animals, I’m glad to have found such a wonderful vet.

Dr. Marcia and Megan are awesome and oh so patient with our Bulldog Bruno who often likes to do his drive-​by shark impression when they come by to see him. They were recommended by Dr. Rob in NYC and we were ecstatic to find another house-​call vet when we moved to the Bay Area. Bruno gets panic attacks at the vet’s office so having such quality care come to the house is amazing. We highly recommend!

We really appreciate Dr. Marcia and Megan — Koa has been a patient of Dr. Marcia’s for over a year now. We love the convenience of having Dr. Marcia come to our home to see Koa as Koa is a big guy (over 100 lbs). More so, we appreciate Dr. Marcia’s genuine care for Koa and her thorough check ups. Following each of her visits, she sends a detailed email outlining all the areas that she discusses with us during the visit and sends links to supplements that she suggests. I’ve emailed Dr. Marcia in between annual check up about ear infections, etc. and have always received quick replies and feedback. I would highly recommend Dr. Marcia and Megan.

Dr Medrano and Megan are so great. We’ve had them visit us twice now, once for our cat, Oliver, and yesterday for our new rescue dog, Lucy. Both times the experience was so easy, convenient and informative.
As long as we live in the city, we will be using Medrano Vets!

Dr. Marcia is the best! Booking with her is very easy and she and Megan are so laid back and open. They do a great job caring for Goose (my 25 lb Kooikerhondje) and are patient and loving. Dr. Marcia is very thorough and very professional in her care – with her advice and at check-​ups, I always feel trusting that my dog is in great hands. Even better they bring the best treats that Goose loves! Everything about their services is just perfect. At our last visit, after several emails, Dr. Marcia remembered all of Goose’s mounting symptoms and was able to prescribe medication and do a stool sample (and anal gland expelling!) in our 45 minute visit. Goose is doing so much better and is such a happy dog. All of it makes such a huge difference in MY happiness-​that I can trust them and that my dog is healthy and well-​cared for! All the best to Dr. Marcia and Megan for their wonderful services!

A calm pup, who I can hold to soothe makes a huge difference. And, the extra time I save from driving, finding parking, waiting etc.

Dr. Marcia and Dr Megan are wonderful! We have a shy puppy named Ada and they treat her with care and attention while jumping through the shy dog hoops like the pros they are. I feel safe knowing they are an email away, and in some cases they’ve been able to come over the next day for *not quite emergency vet* emergencies. The convenience of having our dog looked after in her own environment is a no-​brainer. As a bonus, they share all of the documents and reminders online, so I can’t possibly forget. I can’t imagine taking Ada to anyone else. The prices are fair, especially for the convenience factor and outstanding quality of care you receive.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but these vets are FABULOUS! They were referred to us by a friend in our building, and they really do go above and beyond when they are in your home, with your little fur babies.
They bring treats to distract the dogs, and also make friends with them! My two little Shih Tzu’s loved seeing Dr Marcia and Dr Megan come walking in the door. even after they got shots or anything else invasive. Their electronic record system is SO much easier to deal with and they make every visit just. easy and relaxed.
Sadly, we moved home to Seattle and I wish we could fly them up for their yearly shots — they are just that good!

I really can’t say enough how much I appreciated the treatment they gave our kitties. I have a 10+ year feral Siamese named Professor. When I found her she had a myriad of health problems. We took her to the VCA hospital in the mission. Although we initially liked the care Professor received, it seemed the longer we kept taking her there, the greater the quality diminished. Professor was not getting any better, so my girlfriend took matters into her own hands and did a tremendous amount of research on our kitty’s health issues, and I can say with full confidence that Professor probably would have died if that extra step hadn’t been taken.
Fast forward 6 months, some of Professors symptoms seemed to have come back. We chose Medranovets after seeing their high Unilocal ratings, combined with the convenience of their home visits. Every part of the process was a delight. From scheduling the appointment, to the actual visit, I could tell that they genuinely cared for Professor and actually enjoyed what they do for a living. They even took a look at my other kitties without any additional charge. The difference in quality of care between Medranovets and the rest is not even comparable. As long as I live in SF they will always be my first choice.

This review is long overdue! I created a Unilocal account just so that I could spread the word about how awesome MedranoVets is… then reviewed a few of my other favorite places :)
Dr. Marcia is hands down the most awesome and caring veterinarian that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have had pets of all types my whole life, and I have known many wonderful veterinarians. Somehow none of them even compare to Dr. Marcia. It’s really obvious how compassionate and intelligent she is, even after only a few minutes of the visit have gone by! She sits on the floor and lets the pets come to her first so that they feel comfortable. My dog definitely adores her. He didn’t want her to leave, even after she expressed his anal glands!
Let me just describe my dog quickly. He’s a pain in the rear, ancient African breed, who only wants things done on his terms. Historically, the anal gland expressions have been quite the ordeal. He can scream louder than twenty children on an upside-​down roller coaster when he thinks it will end whatever ‘torture’ he’s currently enduring (i.e. being crated or having his anal glands expressed!).
So again I say, he wanted Dr. Marcia to stay! AND… he didn’t make a peep during the whole process! Yep, he has met his match :)
After the awesome visit, instead of figuring out the best way to get home, you and your pets just go on about your day and await a follow-​up email from the doctor herself. She sends a summary of everything that was discussed during the visit, as well as links to all of the products or medications that she may have recommended. They even have a pharmacy and shop right on their website! I was impressed with the attention to detail that went into the entire process. It’s quite obvious that Dr. Marcia is one of the most organized, thorough, smart, kind, and downright best veterinarians out there. I am so glad that I can count on her to help me take the best possible care of my furry kids!
Oh, I almost forgot! They also share all of your pet’s medical records with you online. It’s really nice to have everything so easily accessible! I must say, in a day and age where everything is brought right to your front door, MedranoVets sure hit the mark with this idea! I only wish I had come up with the idea first! Concierge veterinary services. How perfect is that?! In this case, it’s only so perfect because of it’s owner. You can tell she’s worked hard for it!

From the time we brought home our 8-​week old Bernedoodle, Scout, we have placed our trust in Dr. Marcia and we could not be more satisfied. Scout (now five months) has grown under Dr. Marcia’s care and we are so fortunate to have a veterinarian who knows our dog as well as we know her.
Each visit is done in our apartment, which is wonderful and always makes Scout more comfortable. Dr. Marcia and Megan handled Scout so well, especially when she was in puppy mode. My favorite service though is Dr. Marcia’s accessibility through email. A lot of questions I had as a first-​time dog owner weren’t emergent enough to warrant an appointment or visit, but I could always rest assured that if I emailed Dr. Marcia with a question or questions, I would hear back within an hour or two, whether it was a Monday morning or a Saturday afternoon. She has always put me at ease and has had great resources and advice for any issues that crop up.
Although MedranoVets does not have a clinic where you can take your pet for surgery, such as spaying or neutering, Dr. Marcia will give you a recommendation about who to go to and will follow up with the clinic for your pet’s record and outcomes.
We have been thrilled with Dr. Marcia and MedranoVets and trust her to take the very best care of Scout. We couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Dr. Marcia was great. She came to give my bulldog a checkup and shots. She was very nice and my dog took to her and Megan right away.
They were patient with him when he began to realize he was going to get his ears cleaned and refused to come back over. They didn’t even mind when he drooled on their bags or stuck his head right inside. Dr. Marcia also kept in touch and was very quick to respond to any emails I sent to her.
She was very easy to communicate with and that’s something I have had a hard time with other vets. Usually I’ll have to call the office and then wait for the vet to call me back, if they even do. Not the case with Dr. Marcia, as I mentioned before she was always quick to respond whenever I emailed her.
Also, we are from rural New England, our old vet their sent us a list of shots Brutus was in need of. Rather than just go ahead and give him the shots, Dr. Marcia went through them each and explained the ones he would actually need vs the ones he didn’t. She explained that due to the fact he lives in the city now, there were a few that weren’t really necessary. Great to know! Definitely will be calling Dr. Marcia for my dogs next appointment.

We rescued our senior dog Butters a few months ago and since then she’s seen a number of vets for various issues. Dr. Marcia and Megan are by far our favorite and now we won’t trust our dog with anyone else.
Aside from the convenience of having the vet come to you and taking care of prescriptions online, Dr. Marcia and Megan are incredibly thorough in examining your furry pet. They spend nearly an hour with our dog every time they see her, from clipping her nails to cleaning her ears. If it weren’t for them we wouldn’t have discovered our dog’s luxating patella, something the other vets had missed on multiple visits!
I’ll be honest, the rates are not the cheapest. What you’re paying for though, is a lot of attention, care, and genuine concern about your pet. I am constantly in touch with Dr. Marcia with questions and requests, and she emails us frequently to follow up and check in. Can’t get better service than this.

Dr. Marcia and Megan are very professional and helpful. I recommend them to everyone I know that has dogs.
