The process of divorce is extremely difficult and it’s hard to stay focused and put emotions aside when you are negotiating the terms around finances, children and parental duties. It requires a lot of discipline and focus. Nancy and John really helped in keeping the sessions focused on the issues while still allowing for a place for each party to vent and express emotions. When it seemed like there was no room for compromise and one of us was going to walk out the door, Nancy and John helped in finding a resolution and keeping us on track. What came out of it was a very good result for both parties. Although we used Nancy for mediation, if I was going to hire a divorce attorney to represent me, I would have no hesitation in hiring Nancy.

Finding Nancy and her associates to help us with our divorce was a blessing for my ex-​wife and me. Nancy’s calm demeanor, delightful personality, reasonable rates and knowledge of the process certainly eased the way for us during a time in our lives that was understandably filled with lots of stress and anxiety. She was truly impartial, and my ex and I each feel like we made a new friend as a result of our experience with Nancy. If you must get divorced and you want mediation, you will be hard pressed to find someone better to help you through the process.

Divorce is not something I recommend to anyone. But with roughly half of all marriages ending on the rocks, there’s at least a chance you’ll find yourself going through it one day.
Traditional litigated divorce feeds on inflamed emotions. That’s why it costs so much time, money and heartache. Trust me, I know from experience. So the second time around, my then-​wife and I opted for mediation, with Nancy Hudgins as the legal half of our team. Ironically, it proved to be one of the smarter decisions we ever made as a couple.
Nancy is uncannily skilled at keeping emotion out of the process, and keeping the couple focused on working toward their common goal. Resentments are swept aside, hidden agendas get unhidden, and an inherently painful experience becomes somewhat less so. I don’t know how she did it, but Nancy left us feeling that she was on BOTH our sides.
The ultimate accolade I can offer is this: While the marriage didn’t last, I’m quite certain the divorce will endure forever.
