I have mixed feelings.
Good things:
Made the time to meet with me; very kind in the meeting; took good notes
Bad things:
The only job that came my way was a temp job that was first offered as a temp to perm but then turned in to «temp and if we can afford it maybe a perm». When I voiced my discomfort with this as I wanted a full time job with benefits and had made that really clear, the woman I spoke too turned a little rude and push. She kept pointing out that at least I would be making more than in my current job. I tried to explain that at least I have SECURITY at my current job while this one would leave me in the same spot in 3 months. After all this, they stopped contacting me at all and replying to my emails.
Disappointed with the pushyness and the fact they didn’t seem to listen to what I wanted.

Mixed reviews for Maven. Overall, they did a great job helping me with my editing my resume and securing an interview in a very timely manner. The recruiters are communicative and helpful; they guided me through my interview prep and were helpful overall.
I know this is typical of recruiting groups, but like another user mentioned, you apply to a craigslist ad, then Maven reaches out to you. Not very straightforward about that, or the job that I ended up with.
I got an interview for an «office admin» position that turned out to be a phone support position. Yes, headset and everything. The recruiting group AND company were both very vague about what the job would entail. In hopes to gain experience in customer service/​in great need of a job, I took the position. Very soulless, tedious work. I understand that this is not entirely a reflection on Maven itself, but being more transparent about interviews would be much appreciated. I felt stuck at my job, and that is NOT a good feeling.
Again, Maven does a good job working with their clients. Overall, I had a good experience with the ladies, but the lack of transparency was disappointing. Also, at the time I was working with maven, no direct deposit! Strange and inconvenient.

So everyone knows how it feels while hunting for a new job. The process can be very challenging and super stressful. You know that you have the skills but it’s also super important to be able to really sell yourself at an interview.
I am in the process of finding a new position right now and I could not have asked for more support than what the team at Maven Rec has given me! I have my second in-​person interview this week for a temp to perm position at a great company and I cannot thank the Maven Staff enough for providing me with lots of moral support and preparation skills throughout this process!
Amber has been so amazing at making sure that I am prepared for interviews and has coached me through on ways that I can highlight my skills and abilities in a way that makes me stand out from the rest of the applicants! I have two days to prepare for the interview but I am really confident thanks to the help from Amber and Susan at Maven.
Jenna and Dana have also been great contacts at Maven as well! Congrats on all of your success and I will keep my fingers crossed and land that job soon!

Not a great place if you’re in your 30’s or 40’s. Felt bad because I’m over 40! Loved the position they offered online but really felt the age thing while leaving. Recruiter was much younger than me and obviously they like to hire college kids who know sales force.

Horrible! Stay away! Applied for post on LinkedIN and got a call from Taylor. They won’t tell you which company you applied for until you meet them in person and screen you out. Basically the job isn’t a real post it’s bait. After I told her I wasn’t interested in this type of process where I interview for a company that doesn’t exist she hung up on me! This is what happens when 20 yr olds with no experience in recruiting and HR try to manage a recruiting job! Very unprofessional and extremely rude. Read the other reviews with a similar story to mine — very true! Don’t waste your time! There are other legit recruiting firms in SF.

My first job with Maven is a 6 month contract at my dream company. From the very beginning they’ve been extremely helpful, sending me lots of information and making sure I have a good experience. I’m incredibly grateful for them.

Best. Candidate. Experience. EVER! Jessica (CEO) contacted me about my resume and asked me to come into the office to meet her. I agreed even though I had a feeling it was going to be another waste of time like with all agency recruiters. Boy was I wrong! I was blown away by Jessica’s professional and genuine approach. She actually read my resume and asked me questions that pertained to my experiences and skills. Most importantly, she listened. After over an hour at her office (very very rare if you’ve ever dealt with an agency recruiter) she introduced me to the rest of her team and told me she had something in mind for me and would be in touch soon. And sure enough she was true to her word! I am now at an amazing pre-​IPO startup called Okta (look us up!) and I have Jessica to thank! I highly recommend Jessica and her entire team!

These girls are bomb. They helped me get a fantastic job with a tech company downtown. At first I was a bit hesitant to work through an agency, but I decided to take a leap of faith. They really aim to place you somewhere you will enjoy. I interviewed at a few places (less than 3 in the span of two weeks) and I was able to pinpoint exactly where I wanted to work. Now I have an ongoing contract with a fabulous company in the Live Events Industry.

The ladies here are definitely very helpful and friendly. Got me a job at a well-​known tech company and during my time there, they were super helpful with answering my questions via email or phone. Dana and Anna Marie are very nice and Susan helped me out also. AND they give great tips and advice for interviews before you go into them. I’d definitely recommend these recruiters.

I recently got hired with a company I really wanted to work for all thanks to Susan and Maven Recruiting. She had great communication, gave me tips before the interview and really set me up for success. She addressed any concerns I had and made sure I was taken care of. Not to mention they sent me beautiful flowers this week as a congratulations for my new role! Definitely recommend working with Maven :)

Out of 40+ recruiting calls and 12 interviews, I only ended up working with two recruiters (after a few days of trying to work with a few). Maven was one of the two I trusted. I really wanted and needed to only work with agencies that had both their candidates and their clients on their mind. It’s a matching service and to make a good match, recruiters need to consider both sides and I really felt Maven did that.
Kirsten was my main recruiter and she really listened to what I wanted and matched me to amazing opportunities. From the candidate side, it was amazing. I have a strong resume and very strong references from most of my bosses. I, however, do not interview very consistently. Depending on who interviews me, it can go right or very wrong. I interview very honest and though sometimes I know what would be the right answer, I can’t bring myself to overcommit. Though what I want is to commit to a great company, I can’t bring myself to say what some companies are looking for on the first interview.
Maven was very patient and I greatly appreciated it. Had they dropped me at some point, I would have been okay for all they had done for me in the first two weeks alone. I know I had high expectations and was not exactly easy to work with. The fact that they stuck with me made me felt really good. Though I had confidence during this round of job search, it always hurt to be dropped by someone. The fact that I messed up on some interviews and they called me to tell me the feedback and worked with me was more than I could hope for — it’s very comforting and above and beyond anything I could expect.
Susan and Kirsten sent me to some great companies and in the fields I wanted. Like amazing, top ranking ones! Honestly, they remembered everything I wanted at the first interview with them. I had forgotten one of the things I wanted was a nice office and they assured me with each company they sent me for that the office was amazing. The offices really were amazing and that’s the attention to detail Maven had.
Theres no doubt in my mind that recruiting agencies work harder for clients than candidates and if they worked that hard for me, I can only imagine how much they work for their clients.
From some of the interviews I went on, I definitely felt that Maven had wonderful relationships with some great companies. I’m so appreciative to have them on my side. You know sometimes how you leave interviews with a better answer to some questions? I would tell Susan and Kirsten after my interview and they helped me rely the information when they can.
I got some crazy second chances because of them. I actually also got a job eventually through them. I dreamed of working in SF for a long time now and establishing a life here. Maven very much made it possible.
I know recruiting firms can’t help everyone. I definitely recognized that during my job search and I definitely recognized some firms where I would never want to work with ever. Maven was one firm I knew I wanted on my side from the start and I was right.
They’re one of the few firms that think about both clients and candidates and really try to match needs, skills, expectations, etc.

Susan and the Maven team are exceptional. They’re transparent, helpful and an incredibly professional group of people to work with. They make job searching fun and enjoyable (which, as many people know, isn’t an easy feat). I have loved working with them and have encouraged friends to reach out to them in their next pursuit. If you’re looking for a part-​time, temp or full-​time position, they’re very connected and resourceful. From a hiring stand point or an aspiring job-​seeker, I highly recommend them.

Maven is amazing. They made all of the difference in my job search! They found me on LinkedIn and invited me in for an informational interview. I met with a recruiter who is no longer there, but they kept me on file and called me up for a job that was absolutely perfect. I had applied months earlier directly to the company and never got a look, but Maven worked really hard to get me in the door, even when the company didn’t think my profile was a match. And I ended up landing the job.
