Marie is without a doubt, one of the best care providers /​massage therapists I have ever experienced. She’s passionate and extremely knowledgeable about the human body and wellness, and her work (rolfing as well as massage) is demonstrative of this. Every time I get on that table I feel immediate relief from pain and soreness, as Marie’s sense of touch and her perception of where the pain points are is second to none. Marie is spiritually positive and friendly too! Run (don’t walk) to see this woman. She will heal your aches and pains.

Highly recommend Marie for both Rolfing and massage. I am currently on number 9 of the 10 series with Marie and am so pleased with the shifts I’m seeing.
For years I have chronically had issues with pain near my scapula, as well as hip misalignment due to ankle surgery. With her skillful structural integration and advice, I feel and visibly see a shift in my body. I am now able to initiate movement from my center versus using muscles that have historically done the work. It has also enhanced my body awareness and knowledge, particularly when working out and moving through life.
Anyone can benefit from her services but I would line up today if you’re having any idiopathic or recurring pain as she can provide an immediate release. If you can manage it, the 10 series is transformative body work that will last a lifetime. Her massages are divine as well. Thank you! I am a loyal client for life.

Came in after a whiplash incident. Got 3 treatments. Marie was great with starting light and increasing the pressure slowly to my comfort level. My doctor game me instructions to not see a chiro and get any sort of neck cracking. Marie’s professional massage really helped my recovery. After the first appointment, I got tremendous results. The stiffness in my neck was not going away and after treatment from Marie, I would say I was back to 90% range of motion with most of the pain and stiffness completely gone. Great job Marie!

Marie is the absolute best! I wasn’t able to commit to a Rolfing 10 series, so I booked a regular massage. The massage was relaxing and extremely effective. In 90 minutes, she was able to relieve me of chronic hip pain that I’ve been suffering from for years. I can’t wait to go back!

I came to her with a strong curiosity about rolfing. It’s a 10 session commitment, which I knew, and had heard of people dropping out early on. Marie and I committed to these 10 sessions and it was worth it. She’s very professional and made me feel comfortable as she checked my postures and how my body was carrying itself… stripped down to my underoos. While being consitant, she’s also flexible with time, which living in this bustling city life, was helpful. She’s very friendly, checks in each time not only with what’s going on with you, but little bits of her too, which for me, helped create a friendship. For me, she has a strong touch so she can really get in there! I need perfer this so needless to say, I was very pleased. I highly recommend her!

I recently started the 10-​series with Marie and I am blown away by the changes I am already seeing in my body. Marie is a gifted healer, and her thorough and caring touch combined with her extensive knowledge in structural integration and massage is a true blessing for the body! Marie takes time and care to understand your body and what it needs to open and align.

I’m currently going to Marie for a 10-​series (just finished up #9) and I am extremely impressed. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the body and quite frankly, is very talented at body work.
Marie is a healer and is really invested in the success of each patient. She doesn’t just do the work — she gives you tips and recommendations for how to maintain the work.

As a note — to get the most out of your 10-​series (or rolfing), even if you are unsure as to whether your body will respond well to rolfing, I recommend making sure you budget time and money to commit to the full 10 sessions. I also doing your own research on rolfing and what is involved.

Marie is the best. It’s been over a year since she rolfed me (is that a verb?) and I am continually grateful for the way it’s changed my body and corrected bad habits. I highly recommend that painful and rewarding process and that you get it from Marie. Marie’s talent for body work is truly amazing. She creates a comfortable setting, while thoroughly assessing your body’s posture, patterns, and imbalances. She talks through her process every step of the way, so you know what to expect and can work together during each session. She will problem-​solve trouble areas to find the root of pain, and use creative techniques to bring relief. She gives advice that you can use in daily life to practice and change your body’s patterns that contribute to poor posture and Improper muscle use. She constantly seeks knowledge in her trade and learns new techniques to help her clients. Marie helped me regain control of my physical health and work through the worst pain in my life with the 10-​series Rolfing sessions.

Since I was blindsided by a wave in shallow water when I was 10 years old, I’ve had neck problems and have been able to hear my neck turn in its socket every time I look from side to side. For a long time I’ve been told by friends that Rolfing is extremely beneficial, but it took a long time to be in a place where I could actually act on the advice. Finally at the age of 36 and after years of pain and stiffness, I found Marie while seeking out an Integrative therapist for a 10-​series Rolfing program within walking distance of my work. I read her website and Unilocal reviews and booked an introductory appointment.
Marie was great at explaining the methodology to me (I’m full of questions when it come to body mechanics and body work) and knowing her own story and evolution was reassuring as we moved over the next 10 weeks of therapy. After the 10-​series was complete, I walked away feeling a little taller, stronger, and more aware of my alignment, gait and posture. Also, my neck issues have been greatly relieved and I have an understanding of how to continue improving my condition! These days, I’m working more than ever to be aware of my carriage and general wellness, and as Marie said to me when I left, this is just the beginning of a new relationship with my body. Marie is one of the most incredible therapists that i know!!! THE REAL DEAL!
I lost the mobility in the left side of my body a couple years ago due to my neurological disease. Since then, I have been dealing with some difficulties like walking and standing normally.
OK! so… at my first session, she looked at my pasture. Then, she was able to figure out which muscle was out of balance and not active. With her Rolfing technique, she helped to wake up my non-​active muscle. (Rolfing is essentially identical to Structural Integration whereby a forceful massage technique is used in an attempt to reposition tissues under the skin.)
I swear that I felt taller ad steadier after each session. Plus, she also taught me how to walk correctly in everyday life. With the combination of physical therapy and her help, I have come back to the level where no one notices that I have a disability. :)
She is really smart, caring and friendly. Her Rolfing series are total 10 sessions. Each session focuses on a different part of body. It’s really cool!!!

Marie is the best masseuse I have ever experienced! She has amazingly strong hands and she quickly identifies problem areas. My whole body feels a dramatic difference after I meet with her. 15 minutes with her is better than 60 with a less talented masseuse.
My situation is unique as Marie offers her services in a Wellness program my company offers.

Marie is amazing. She knows her stuff, doesn’t BS you, and has a great eye and instinct for the body and how to treat it. I see her for rolfing and it has been pretty much life-​changing. (Note: I love massage and have relied on it to help muscle soreness, injury, and stress for my entire adult life. Marie knows her sh*t, no question.)
I’m very active and love high-​impact sports like Crossfit and Muay Thai. Now in my late 30s, this has taken its toll in the form of kinks and pains and even plantar fasciitis in one foot. I’m more than halfway through the series and it has been absolutely, truly fantastic. After the first two sessions, I could see and feel the difference in my other activities. In muay thai (Thai kickboxing), my power is better and I’m connecting more accurately with targets. In Crossfit, my body feels more balanced and agile and the little aches and pains that used to annoy me are nearly gone. Even better, my foot no longer bothers me. The chronic kink in my neck is gone (but I think this is actually more due to Marie’s amazing massage technique than the rolfing because I haven’t gotten to that part of the rolfing series yet).
Like I said and like most people will tell you, rolfing is not for everyone. It’s painful and far from relaxing, but it is completely results-​focused. If you’re athletic and feel like your body’s been through the wringer and maybe could use a tune-​up and you can take a whole lot of pain (think fingers dragging between each rib to break up connective tissue — yeah, ouch), then I absolutely recommend going to see Marie. Let her decide if rolfing is right for you, or if you’re better off with her equally amazing massage therapy (which usually involves rolfing technique).

I’ve worked in restaurants for so long that my muscles ached constantly at 28 years old.
Despite what some may say, that is not normal.
My dilemma is that I hesitate with massages because my areas of tension are so sensitive. I benefit from a gentle and healing touch, but I know that I need a deeper intense therapeutic massage. I used to think that the only way to work through to a state of release was to brace myself through some amount of pain…
I guess, It doesn’t really matter if I understand how that works, I recommend Marie because she is inherently gifted at healing people with her hands. She is the only person who has ever worked on me that felt soothing from beginning to end and still thoroughly relieved after-​the-​fact.
Her skill is also evident in that she reads people very well and can assess their needs in order to optimize the time for a balanced treatment. With Marie, it really feels more like an energetic experience and it’s the first time I’ve felt certain that I could make this a regular part of my routine.

I cannot recommend Marie more highly. I’m hypermobile in most joints and as a result have a lot of compensatory tension in my muscles and connective tissue. I also have an old yoga injury in my upper back/​neck and a rather. ahem… anxiety-​prone personality. Marie knows *exactly* what to do to help every single one of these issues.
I’ve gotten so much bodywork where you have to give a lot of detailed instructions about your body and what you want, and even then it ends up feeling not quite satisfactory or fulfilling afterward. With Marie, she’s totally great at listening to what you think about your body and what you need, but she also just intuitively knows what to mobilize and how deep to go and where your body feels the most yucky /​needs the most work.
I’ve done the first few rolfing sessions, and yes, it can be very intense, but she works with me to use just as much pressure as I can handle – and trust me, it’s worth it, because afterward everything just feels released and open and light. And she incorporates some massage-​y stuff so it’s not just all hard work and no relaxation.
Also, just as a person, she’s very kind and has a calming presence that is perfectly suited for her work.
Her rates are $ 120 for a 1.5 hr rolfing or massage therapy session and $ 80 for a 1 hr massage therapy session. As a student living on loans at the moment, my budget is super tight, but I feel like it’s no longer worth it to look for the cheapest massages on groupon etc. I’d rather invest in sessions with Marie knowing that I’m getting really quality bodywork and will be guaranteed to feel amazing afterward.

As an athlete, I need A LOT of bodywork to keep my machine running. Its hard to find a therapist who has the knowledge and skills to provide a massage that is sports specific and can go the distance in helping me with all my body issues. Throughout the years, I’ve seen many massage therapists and had my share of unsatisfying spa experiences. I am so happy to have finally found Marie and to no longer have to sort through the millions of massage professionals in San Francisco.
I enjoyed a bodywork session with Marie at equinox downtown on Pine Street. I would love to check out her studio space in the Mission as well, it sounds like an amazing retreat for bodywork. Marie is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled therapist. She is well schooled in many styles of massage, and during our session she blended different techniques together to meet my specific needs. I felt that she really listened to what I wanted as a client and applied the perfect amount of pressure to help me with my «laundry list» of pain issues. Marie’s genuine and calming energy created a massage experience that was incredibly relaxing and healing for me. I love that she is «results oriented» and works not just to relax, but to RESOLVE injury or chronic pain issues. I can’t wait to try her 10 session Rolfing series and the healing transformation that comes along with it.
