While planning our wedding, I quickly realized that to keep my sanity-​we would need help ensuring the day ran smoothly. After meeting with many wedding planners, it was crystal clear Robin was it. Her calm demeanor, ability to listen and the way she understood my vision made me feel confident that I was in good hands. She was always a phone call away when I had any questions, concerns or just an idea to run by her.
She was invaluable throughout the entire process. When my husband could not make our tasting last minute, Robin drove to SF and accompanied me. When we needed a lighting company-​who had recommendations? Robin. When I could not decide on tablecloth colors-​who was my sounding board? Robin. I cannot count how many times she helped me through a mini-​meltdown when I was second guessing something.
Robin’s detailed wedding timeline also made me feel at ease. Our rehearsal ran effectively, on time and she did an outstanding job of keeping the bridal parties attention. On our wedding day, she was there bright and early making sure everything was in place and vendors arrived on time. She even helped the groomsmen with their boutonnieres! Her work was spot on, and I was simply IN AWE of the gorgeousness that was our wedding. My envisioned dream was all there in front of me with each and every detail executed flawlessly to perfection. All thanks to Robin.
When we arrived back at our room, our gifts and wedding items were cleaned and carefully boxed up. The icing on the cake (literally) was that she saved our top tier (after I had mentioned not caring if we kept it). I am extremely thankful she anticipated this. If anything did not go according to plan-​I had no clue, nor did my family.

Robin definitely made my wedding in Aug 100% easy for me. I didn’t worry one thing and focused on my make up, dress and guests. She was well-​organized, detail oriented and patient. Everything was placed in the perfect place and she made sure everyone was aware of their responsibility. Since I live on the east coast while the wedding is in SF, we exchanged countless emails before the wedding and she always answered my questions with great solution. My wedding couldn’t be perfect without Robin’s help!

Robin was an absolute lifesaver and gem to work with all the way up to our wedding, and took care of all the details on the day itself. Robin was recommended to me by someone I knew and she did not disappoint. She provided me with detailed lists for all types of vendors in helping me make selections. The month of the wedding she was a god send — making a detailed wedding timeline and coordinating with all of the vendors to ensure the day went smoothly. And it did — she handled all issues and made my day a success. She interacted well with my family and ensured that they knew where they needed to be when. I hired Robin to help coordinate and assist in planning my wedding at the Westin St. Francis in SF. We hired her shortly after my engagement, in total, worked with her about 7 months prior to my wedding.
Robin is easy to talk to, professional, efficient, kind, understanding and very detail oriented! She has a lot of experience planning weddings and prior to this business, she worked as a wedding coordinator for the St. Francis so really knows the ins and outs of weddings from all angles.
She reviewed and negotiated all of our contracts with vendors and saved us thousands of dollars overall!
Not only did she manage all the business aspects of the wedding planning for me but she was also a much needed emotional sounding board! When I was stressed or frustrated about anything I knew I could reach out to her to vent. She literally would talk to me on the phone for as long as I needed. I recall one time hanging up and it had been more than an hour! She was always quick to get back to me via email as well. If she did not have time to answer my questions, she would still take a moment to email me and let me know when I should expect to hear from her. I really appreciated that!
Her timeline for the weekend was amazing-​every contact we may need was listed in one place. The entire weekend was broken down from the rehearsal dinner schedule, the wedding day from the moment we woke to what our after party plan was, to the brunch the morning after the wedding, EVERY detail accounted for listed by time.
In the days leading up to the wedding, she continued to be the liaison between the vendors and I. I cannot imagine doing all this without her, there are so many things you need to think about! Everything went as planned and even if there was something that did not go right, I did not know about it during the party because she was there to take care of it! Having a point person is really a must and I highly recommend Robin if you are looking for a wedding planner!

GET A WEDDING PLANNER! I came into this wedding planning process thinking that I could do everything myself. For some reason I thought that having a wedding planner was over the top and unnecessary. I WAS SO WRONG. This is the MOST important advice I give all of my friends, especially the newly engaged ones. However you need to work it into your budget, do it.
I do not know what I would have done without Robin Lewis from Make It Happen! She was so much more than a wedding planner for us. She was a consultant, a sounding board, even a therapist at times. I tell everyone that Robin was worth double what she charged us. She has been in the industry for 20+ years and her knowledge and experience is invaluable. It felt like she knew everyone in the bay area! Every single one of our vendors raved about Robin and most of them even offered us a discount because we were working with her.
She gets to know you AND your fiancé and only recommends vendors who match your personality, style, and budget. This list alone is worth the money. Most of us haven’t planned a wedding before so to have this list of vendors who Robin knows well, trusts, and has worked with before, was one of the most comforting things. I have so many friends who have planned their own wedding and picked random vendors and ended up getting taken advantage of or even worse. I felt so grateful for Robin when I heard these stories.
I know most brides will want to kill me for saying this but, literally not one thing went wrong on my wedding day. And if it did, then Robin must have taken care of it without anyone knowing. Because of Robin, I was able to relax and ENJOY my day (something I have heard a lot of brides don’t get to do). The rest of the review is details of the work that Robin did for us, but Robin was the single best decision my wife and I made when planning our wedding. If you need a planner (and you likely do), hire her.
My wife and I are both project management professionals, however; when we realized what we wanted in our wedding, we knew we needed a planner. We built a complex wedding with a ceremony site that typically doesn’t do weddings, and a reception venue over 2 hours away. Worse yet — we wanted to do the whole thing in 4 months. After reading Robin’s reviews, I begged her to take our wedding even though she was fully booked. Thankfully, she finally gave in :)
Robin immediately proved her worth when dealing with the vendors: She provided a customized list to us that could do no wrong. Every vendor we talked to fit our style, was polite and professional, and was pre-​vetted. Every single one spoke so highly of Robin, and was willing to work with us on exceptionally difficult requirements, mainly because we were working with Robin. Through the discounts we received with these vendors working with us through Robin, she paid for herself in the first few weeks of working together.
After the vendor selection, everything past that was just gravy. Robin, my wife, and I exchanged over four hundred additional emails in the 4 month window on all subjects. Robin was able to help with everything — flowers, contracts, questions, fears, estimates for people, writing invitations… you name it, her advice was fantastic. As we got closer to the date we all got together in person to review the timeline and work with the vendors. Robin put together an exceptional timeline of events and over the course of about two weeks was able to finalize it and get all the vendors and venues aligned to it. As that happened, you could literally feel the stress of the upcoming event melt away. Our communication to everyone was minimal, everyone had a single point of contact, and Robin never missed a beat.
When we reached week of the event, Robin somehow became more dedicated. Taking care of all last minute details, working with the families to make sure everything was correct, even working on the rehearsal dinner at one point, even though it was FAR outside her scope of responsibilities. As my wife and I lost our cool at all the last minute details of guests unable to attend, or inviting extra folks, or all the other things that happen, Robin was the cornerstone that kept us sane.
Eventually, it came time for the big day, or more specifically the day of the rehearsal. Robin showed up early and prepared. Impossibly, this may have been the area where Robin was actually the best. Everything was prepared, she immediately got to know everyone in the wedding party (17!) and work with them. She worked and made sure the rehearsal dinner was perfect and everyone was prepped for the next day. The next day, she executed to the timeline, got all vendors in line, and made sure everything went perfect. Though I didn’t see her often, I saw her work all around me. Speaking to my family later, they noted there was never a time when she wasn’t working, fixing, or making something better.
I could go on much longer on the work she did during the wedding, but I can summarize it as such: My wife and I had what we consider to be the perfect wedding, and we attribute a huge percentage of that to Robin. She was a bargain money wise, and made the wedding so much better than we could have ever dreamed. It’s obvious from her other reviews too — but she’s the real deal. I’ll be begging her to take my friends weddings (so I know I can relax and have fun), and I suggest you do the same.

My husband and I were able to book Robin for our month-​of coordination services for our late May wedding and are extremely pleased with her work, experience and professionalism. I had an initial phone consultation with Robin and we hit it off immediately. It was a huge plus that she was a fellow UCLA alumni!
Robin worked within our budget and offered services a year out from the wedding. Despite her hectic schedule, Robin responded to all e-​mails immediately. Robin always made herself available for all of my extremely detailed wedding questions and always made me feel at ease.

Robin provided extremely valuable services throughout the planning process, and her experience in the field provided her with a great advantage compared to other coordinators.
At the day of the rehearsal and wedding, Robin was a godsend. She effortlessly and effectively navigated our families’ politics and kept us happy.

Robin was essential to our wedding day! With just a couple of meetings (and lots of emails) before the big day, we knew that were in good hands with Robin. We picked Robin to be our month of coordinator for our wedding in November in San Francisco. She was the MVP of the entire event. Once we signed a contract with her, we had unlimited access to her via email and she answered all of my (and my mother’s) questions immediately and efficiently. She was exactly what I wanted in a coordinator and put me to ease very quickly.
About a month before the wedding, we sat down and filled out a complete timeline from Friday to Sunday. Minute by minute detail — most things I wouldn’t have even thought about, but made the day even more special to us. We were so on top of the timeline we actually ran early for almost everything the day of the wedding. As someone that is punctual, I really appreciated this.
After the wedding, she transported all of our personal items we brought to the venue (cards, photographs, vintage tasting flutes, etc) back to respective hotel rooms. Not one thing got lost or misplaced.
I would highly recommend Robin and her wealth of knowledge and experience in planning. She is just amazing and I can’t thank her enough for having our wedding go off without one single hitch.

I can’t even begin to explain what an amazing planner Robin Lewis is. From the start, she eased all my stress, and I knew she would make sure every detail was taken care of. Even though she was technically a month of planner, her job began much earlier. She was always emailing to check in, give advice, and answer questions even 6 months in advance. She has so much experience, knows so many people in the industry, and is happy to give her insights and try to help you cut costs where she can.
On the rehearsal night, she organized a very large group of us and made sure everyone knew what they needed to do. This definitely was not an easy task, as we had a 2 ceremonies back to back– first a Jewish ceremony, and then a Hindu ceremony. There were lots of aspects involved. Robin rolled with all the last minutes details and requests we threw at her with ease.
Robin was constantly on top of everything and kept in contact with all of our vendors regularly. The wedding was a huge success, and that was in large part to Robin. She is sweet, such a people person, as well as organized, and always on her toes. Yet she still gives the air of calmness to all around her.

Working with Robin was absolutely wonderful! Like many people, we were originally skeptics about whether we really needed a wedding planner or if we could do it all by ourselves. When we first got engaged, we figured we would save some money and do everything ourselves. Both Alex and I are professional wedding photographers ourselves, and I was a design major in college, so we had seen enough weddings as professionals that we thought we had some idea of how to put together a wedding by ourselves. First of all, we learned very quickly that doing it yourself is not actually cheaper. Second, even with all the experience in the world, there is absolutely no way that we could have managed to pull this wedding off without help.
We’d spoken with a few other planners, but from the moment we sat down with Robin, we had to have her plan our wedding. Robin is the nicest person — she’s incredible to work with. Robin took all of our design ideas into consideration and really pulled everything together. She contacted vendors, she coordinated planning, and she even did negotiation for us. We thought we couldn’t afford a live band — Robin found us an amazing one that fit our budget perfectly. A potential caterer tried to charge us several hundred dollars for a 1-​person tasting after the tasting had already happened. Nope. Robin took care of it.
The wedding: Robin led our rehearsal the night before, then handled all the logistics the day-​of, including everything from making sure our wedding favors were brought in on time to keeping guests at bay until we were done with family photos. Of the numerous weddings we’ve attended both as guests and professionals I can confidently say that our own wedding was the smoothest that we have ever been to.
We’re also currently students, in a completely different state, across the country. We would not have been able to manage all the coordination and planning on our own, yet Robin handled it without breaking a sweat. Robin made our lives easy. Robin is an incredible professional and friend, and we could not have been happier with what she did for us.

Last weekend, we had a picnic-​themed Hindu-​Jewish wedding on a private estate in San Jose. We had three rental companies, two caterers, a separate staffing company, and lots of DIY aspects. Robin was proficient and professional every step of the way and far exceeded the duties set out in her contract.
We considered several other planners before finding Robin, but it was clear that Robin was the best fit for us. During my first call with Robin, before we had a contract, she really took the time to understand our vision for the wedding. She was genuinely excited!
She drafted a comprehensive «month-​of» contract, and her fee was more than fair for the service she was offering. Some «day-​of» planners who charge similar rates only kick into gear two weeks before the big day, but one month is far more reasonable to spot and solve any problems.
In addition to managing the wedding timeline, conducting the rehearsal, and managing the flow of the day, Robin agreed to help review contracts, perform a walk through at the venue, and take part in the food tasting with the caterer. It was great to see Robin in person a couple of times before our big day to iron out some of the details. Also, Robin only works one wedding per weekend, and it was great to know from the get-​go that she would be totally focused on us during our special day.
Contracting
Contracting is a huge part of the wedding planning process, and even though I am familiar with the language of contracts, it was incredibly valuable to have a diligent expert like Robin during this process. When I couldn’t find a vendor myself, she made introductions and inquiries to look for the best fit for me. Robin would carefully review each contract I received, making sure that the deposits, deadlines, and cancellation terms made sense. We went in to our big day not only knowing what would happen if everything went perfectly, but also what would happen if something went wrong.
Robin answered all email inquiries promptly during this process. She also gained a perfect understanding of our vision for the day. Her mind is razor-​sharp and she remembers every detail. She executed perfectly in the end because she knew exactly what we wanted all along.
Timeline
Robin sent out a timeline to all the vendors a month before the big day. This was a super useful tool to make sure that every task had an owner (even something as simple as setting up a lawn game) and that everyone had enough time to perform their tasks. It helped synchronize the deliveries, hair and makeup artists, photographers, and more, and is perhaps the single most useful document a wedding planner can generate before the wedding. Robin also demands confirmation from all vendors, which is great for ensuring that you have as few surprises as possible on the wedding day.
The Wedding Day
This is when I understood why Robin calls her business «Make It Happen.» She arrived at the venue early to make sure things were in place, and a couple of things had already gone off the rails. Our staffing company showed up without ice, which we had contracted with them to bring, and our caterer got a flat tire and was over two hours late.
Robin stepped in and helped the staffing company set up while one team member went to get ice, and quickly made contingency plans to account for the caterer’s lateness. She managed to set help set up the welcome area, get us ready for the processional, manage the flow of the day, and pay all the vendors at the end of the evening while constantly helping the staffing and catering companies. This is far in excess of what she was contracted for, but she did what was needed and was totally unfazed. Robin shielded my wife and me from dealing with the chaos, which allowed us to really enjoy our wedding. There is really no way to thank her fully for everything she did for us that day.
Summary
Because of Robin’s hard work throughout the planning process and especially on our wedding day, everything went on as scheduled and the venue looked absolutely beautiful despite some pretty major setbacks. Most couples say their wedding day was a blur, but my wife and I have so many crystal clear happy memories, in large part because of Robin Lewis. Thank you, Robin, for making the happiest day of our lives even happier!
