Magic Touch All Clean

I had to give these folks one star, simply because I haven’t had them clean my house and so don’t know what kind of job they’d to.
I had an appointment yesterday, no-​show. I called, and the guy explained that his partner had had her car break down and he was going to go see what she needed. Anyone can have their car fail, so I tried to be patient. He promised to get a crew together to come today, but still, no-​show. I’m giving a party this evening, so no, rescheduling for Monday really won’t solve the problem.
I’m so glad I didn’t pre-​pay!

As a dad of four, our house gets messy fast, not to mention a lot. We have a house in San Francisco, but live mostly in Los Angeles, so we don’t get to visit as much as we wish to. So when the hurricane comes in through the house (my four kids), we needed help cleaning. We came across a Groupon and scheduled an appointment. Since then they have come tons of times and we are very happy with their services. They arrive either on time or a little early and are very easy to work with. You can tell they do a great job, just from the before and after they come in and clean. I am very happy with Magic Touch and I am planning to keep on hiring them.

I would highly recommend Magic Touch to my friends. My husband has chemical allergies to cleaning products and they’ve always been careful about the products they use in our home. We use them bi-​weekly and they are very reliable, friendly and thorough. We have two dogs which results in much dog hair! They accommodate any requests I make and if something isn’t right, they fix it! What more could you ask for?

So Unilocal has decided that my original negative review was lacking the content, thus removed my review. Well, here are I am again as I need to ensure that my experience, which is not much different from majority of others here, is public. I purchased a pre-​paid $ 60 Living Social deal for a few hours of house cleaning work that this business was supposed to fulfill. I called Magic touch almost immediately to schedule an appointment. When the owner found out that I was calling via the Living Social deal, he informed that there were no appointments available for the subsequent 2 months. I called in February and got an appointment scheduled for the April timeframe.
Fine I figured, as long it gets done.
A week prior to my appointment I called back to reconfirm, spoke to the same person (the owner) and got a confirmation that my appointment was on for the subsequent Friday. Friday comes, I’m waiting and waiting, no show. I call back, he picks up, when I ask where they are, he tells me… «oh, I don’t have your appointment for today in my book. For some reason I see it scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, but we don’t work tomorrow so not sure what happened. Oh, and you know, I’m driving now, he says, please call me back so that we could re-​schedule.»
That’s the response? I scheduled them 2 months in advance, I then called to re-​confirm… and after all of that, he had this weird mix up? And guess what, all my subsequent calls went unanswered and unreturned.
Of course, my $ 60 prepaid appointment was no longer of an interest to him. He collected my money and disappeared from the radar. I called Living Social for a refund and learned that I’m only eligible to get a refund within the first 2 weeks after the purchase. So, here I am. Money paid, service not fulfilled. And judging by all other reviews, he is still there practicing his fraudulent business.
New customers, avoid at all costs!

You moron when you cancel an appointment you don’t send a text you leave a voice mail you are a crook and a cheat

Great service, great cleaning, great price. They worked there little hearts out!

This service seemed good at first but the crew ultimately damaged my floors and the owner handled the situation unprofessionally.
I found Magic Clean through Groupon, and they cleaned my house for six months. The promotional offer was a very good deal, and the cleaning crews did a very good job.
I kept them on until they badly scratched my hardwood floor (one deep, long scratch about six feet long right through the middle of the living room).
When I complained, Anderson (the owner) initially denied they had scratched the floors. After I pressed him, he claimed that he had a friend who was a professional and would fix my floor. Since they had generally done a good job, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. The «fix» did not remove the scratch but discolored the floor and left it even more obviously damaged.
I discussed it with Anderson and he refused to take responsibility. I asked whether he had any insurance that would cover the damage, and he was very evasive. I left the service and would not have them clean my house at any price.
UPDATE: I see the comment from the owner. His failure to take responsibility is more troubling than the damage they did.
The scratch appeared on the same day that they cleaned, and clearly extended from the spot where the sofa leg sits out to the middle of the living room. I had not moved the sofa since I moved in a year earlier.

I’ve used them twice now and both times they did a great job. It took about 1.5hr to steam clean the carpets in my apt. It took about a week to schedule an appointment but once it was scheduled they arrived on-​time and they were very efficient.
I would highly recommend them and I will continue to use them again.

Worst experience EVER and they didn’t even clean our house! If I could give them negative stars I would!
I purchased a «deal» thru Amazon Local for 3 hours of cleaning. We thought about hiring a cleaning service in the past and decided to give them a try. Boy, this was a mistake!
I purchased the deal mid-​June and called a few days after to setup a time for them to come. I spoke with Anderson who told me that they’re so busy I couldn’t get an appointment until the end of July, which was about 5 weeks later. We settled on a date and time for the cleaning crew to show up. A few days after I booked them I had to call and reschedule, which was fine with Anderson but he said if we rescheduled they were not available for another 3 weeks. So I agreed and they were set to come mid-​August.
Anderson called a few days before the rescheduled date to say he had an emergency and couldn’t come. He was apologetic so we again we rescheduled for 2 weeks later on a Saturday, Aug. 24 at 9am. A few days later Anderson called back and said they couldn’t come on Saturday but could come on Friday morning at 9am. I said fine and we scheduled. Anderson called me on the Thursday, the day before they were supposed to come and said he had another emergency and couldn’t come and had to reschedule again. He asked if he could come the following week but we were leaving for vacation and we wouldn’t be available until Sept. 14. He said okay and we booked Sept. 14 at 9am.
Anderson called me a few days later and said he forgot that his family from Brazil would be in town the weekend of Sept. 14 so he couldn’t come. For the 5^th time he rescheduled and said he could come on Friday, Sept. 13 at 9am. At this point I’m beyond annoyed and said fine and my husband would take the day off work to be home.
Yesterday, on Sept. 12 I get a text from Anderson confirming our supposed 4pm cleaning for the same day. I texted back and told him we rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 13 at 9am. He texted back and said be couldn’t come on the 13^th because he had another emergency. He previously told me that his family from Brazil would be town so I know this «emergency» was a lie. He texted back and said 12pm would be okay for the 13^th. Later that night I get a text saying he again can’t make it but they can come on Monday night. I told him we have dinner plans then and if we have to reschedule it can be for Tuesday night. He never responded to my last text.
This morning, Sept. 13 I get a call at 11am saying his crew can be at my house in 20 mins to clean. I told him that my husband went to the gym and to run errands since he took the day off because they were supposed to come clean, and that he would be home by 1pm. He then has the balls to say, «well you scheduled at noon today and we can’t come at 1pm! I will call you back and reschedule.» Seriously???
Needless to say I called Amazon Local, gave them the story and asked for my money back. The Amazon Local rep was apologetic and refunded my money.
I have not heard back from Anderson, and at this point I wouldn’t even trust him in my house! STAY AWAY from this company!

I originally came across the Magic Clean team from a Groupon or something along those lines. They were awesome from the get-​go, really easy to work with, and have been great to work with since. I’ve used their housekeeping service for over a year now, and am really pleased with the job they do.
I would highly recommend them to anyone and because I’m an extremely discriminating consumer, I’m trying to limit the 5 stars I give out which is the only reason I held them to 4. Bottom line, I have been very happy with the service they provide and Anderson has been phenomenal to work with

Here is the story:
Bought voucher with Living Social, called the guy, scheduled an appointment: so far so good. Cleaning people did not show up, called the guy again — he «forgot», rescheduled an appointment, they never showed up again. Called Living Social — apparently after a week it is between me and the guy from Magic Touch to get a refund or get the service.

I had bought the Living Social deal last year and got my car cleaned in June 2012. My call was answered promptly and it was no trouble to schedule an appointment. He showed up on time and did an EXCELLENT job. We could not believe it was the same car — my car is 9+ years old and I have a young child so it’s seen it’s fair share of messes.
I am surprised and saddened to see all the negative reviews here — I hope their service has not deteriorated as it’s time for a good detailing again. I would hate to have to find someone else.

This is my review for their home cleaning services, which I also posted under their other business name, SF Magic Clean.
I found this service thru a Living Social Deal last Fall. I wasn’t particularly upset about the difficulty in scheduling the initial service because I had already read other reviews about that. After the initial 3 service dates of my Deal, I have continued to use them on a regularly scheduled basis.
Anderson, the owner, is really nice to deal with. He is professional, kind and truly dedicated to growing his business. I needed to change and add dates a number of times these last couple of months, and he always tried to accommodate my needs.
As for the quality of the service, I think in this price range, they are excellent.
I have tried many other services in the last few years, and SF Magic Clean is the best. I know that standards of cleanliness are all relative. I consider myself a bit ocd about cleaning. And I know I cannot spend my entire day cleaning my house to meet my standards because I have a job to go to. And I know that I have a certain budget to spend on keeping my house clean. For me, SF Magic Clean helps me achieve that balance.

Same experience as other Living Social customers. Bought the deal but was never able to schedule the appointment.
The man wouldn’t return calls and the one time that I got him live, he asked me to call back. Another time he just hung up on me.
Horrible horrible way of doing business. Avoid at all costs!

I purchased a Living Social deal in AUGUST of last year. I have been attempting to schedule my appointments with them since the 2^nd of September. They will not respond to email, the phone number goes to the cell phone of a man who seems to think I’m inconveniencing him by trying to schedule service.
Today (4 months later) was my last attempt to deal with Magic Touch. When I tried to schedule (again) I was informed (again) that the deal was very popular and that he would be happy to call me if there are any cancellations near Millbrae. Bear in mind that I have been open to scheduling at ANY time, even a month+ in advance, and they still refuse to honor this.
LivingSocial will not refund my money («over 7 days since purchase», although they charged my credit card for services this company won’t render), Magic Touch refuses to provide the service for which I paid 159 … both companies have pocketed my money. Now, I have to go through my CC company, Better Business Bureau and/​or small claims. Total pain for something that was supposed to make my life easier.
UPDATE: After threatening to file a claim and contacting Living Social’s CEO (
), I finally got my money back via LS. So many wasted hours, this put me off of Magic Touch and Living Social.

Bought a Living social voucher for 3 cleanings. Got my appointments. However, the first appointment, the ladies came and were late with no apologies. Their cleaning was sub par. I asked them to please mop the bamboo rugs as well and although they said yes, they did not.
Not only did they not mop what they said they’d mop, but they didn’t mop ANY of the floors.
In addition, they did not do a thorough job of sweeping the place. There were dust and hair under tables and chairs (not heavy chairs) that they should have been able to reach.
I felt like the ladies were more concerned about getting done than they were about the quality of their work.
If i didn’t have the other vouchers, i definitely will not have them «clean» my house again.

Bought a Livingsocial deal from here.
They said it will take over 1 month to set up an appt to get things cleaned.
Never again.

Trying to prepare my car for sale, it has 200k miles on it. Looked around and I really liked how the owner responded respectfully to Unilocal complaints, so I gave them a try.
The car is old but the guy did an excellent job. He got here early, did it in the time estimate, and every little detail was done right. Even under the seats that pull up and fold down. Even though I got a Unilocal discount, I didn’t get attitude like I saw on other places.
The negative comments for this business are mostly ridiculous — like trying to get a house cleaning with a car cleaning discount.

Called at 6:57AM on a Saturday and he made a slot for me same day at 12:30. I cant believe how great of a job they did on cleaning my husbands car. And I mean AMAZING…
Grandma came in from out of town so I took her on full cross state tour that took 8 days. We lived in this car for over a week, there was dirt from all corners of California in every single crack of this poor car. Husband was coming home from business trip and I could not let him come home to that. They were so helpful and the fact they come to you and only need somewhere to plug in power is off the planet amazing for what comes out 2.5 hours later.
If there was more than 5 stars you guys would get it. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

I got a groupon and called for an appointment. There was no opening for 3 weeks so I schedule anyways. I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. There was no confirmation day before the appointment. My appointment was at 2pm, but I got a call at 2:35 stating that the cleaning lady has arrived. Then I got another call stating that they couldn’t find the parking so I told them to park on the street.
I came home after work and my entire apartment was dirty and messy. The only thing that was cleaned was the stove and kitchen counter (half). I didn’t understand what was going on since the service was for 2 people 2 hours. My bathrooms, bedrooms and living room was not touched. I hadn’t cleaned for 3 weeks prior to the appointment, so you can image the mess. There was no call or warning so I wasn’t sure what I got into.
The owner did not call me and let me know anything about the cleaning. I ended up posting a negative review (1 star) here on Unilocal to get their attention. I called the owner on Sunday and he told me that it was a day off, but he saw the review. He didn’t even try to contact me to explain to me what happened and why the place was not cleaned. He kept saying that two people were there cleaning for 2 hours. He said it was a regular service and not deep. I kept telling him that only my stove was cleaned and several garbage bags left in the kitchen. The rest of the apartment was not even touched. He said that he will come and re-​clean the place but never explained to me what happened.
I didn’t see a single post on residential cleaning here on Unilocal so I think that this company needs to do their homework and present a good service to their customers whether they bought a discounted deal or not.
They came back 2 days later to clean the place. This time I came home and everything was nice and cleaned. My husband and my friend were home to oversee their work. The bathrooms were cleaned very nicely. All the hair, garbage and stains in the shower were removed. The kitchen was cleaned nicely as well. This time everything was vacuumed, although they did not move the couch where all the dirt resided. I wish they would present this service first time around and not cause me stress by coming home to a dirty house the first time.
Advise: Do not leave while cleaners are cleaning. Stay and watch them do everything and time them. It appears that if you are not home they will try to fool you. Overall I will never call them again, although I would have hired them to come for bi-​weekly cleaning had this issue not occurred.
