Tucked away in the Handlery Hotel, this classic two chair barbershop is a true gem. As an out of towner, I stumbled across this place by accident but was more than pleasantly surprised with the feel, service and price. Louie cleaned me up and had my hair looking great for my quick stop into the city while also making me feel like I had been going there for years. And at $ 25, I thought it was a fair deal.
All in all, it was very much like a barber shop in a country club or men’s club where you go for a quick clean up or to look fresh for a big event that same evening.
I would highly recommend checking this place out and would suggest calling ahead to set up an appointment with Louie.
I know that the next time I am in the city, I will make a point to go see Louie.

Louie Lopez is a great haircutting pro, has been doing it for years and is both fast and very professional. He has a real talent and he is also a very nice guy. He is now located inside the Handlery Hotel, just off Union Square.
