Los Boleros Cuban Band and Latin Band

Rudy and Los Boleros with Felix Samuel performed at our Saturday Cuba fundraiser in Tiburon (April 4, 2015). Wow! Everyone without exception said the music was great and the place rocked all night. Thanks for Los Boleros and Rudy for setting everything up and making sure all ran smoothly. With these guys you get what is promised, and then some.

I’d hear Rudy Furlan and his band at a few local clubs and events, and from the first time I heard them, I was blown away. The second through fourth times I heard them with my fiancé, we agreed that we would do everything possible to have them play at our wedding reception!
We hired Rudy and Los Boleros for our wedding reception two months ago, and couldn’t have been more pleased! Our guests are still raving about this seriously talented and perfectly professional band. ALL of the wedding party and guests were totally impressed — from the wide variety of Latins among our family and friends, to the dyed-​in-​the-​wool gringos!
Los Boleros know Latin music and they know gracious entertainment with a lot of flair. They had a special «dinner set» and then two dance sets. The musicians were quite generous with their spirit, and they conducted themselves respectfully and with grace. Young and old felt the vibe and got out on the dance floor and barely left it during the reception. We boogied like crazy: salsa, merengue, cha cha, etc.
We went with the full seven piece band, which was totally worth it as we had a hundred guests, and the sound was very full with a great variety of instruments and voices that combined with perfect precision.
They arrived before the time they needed to be there, and they lent a hand with the other tasks that remained to be handled, even though this was beyond their scope as musicians. This is LOVE, and shows a spirit of friendship, community, and generosity that fits right in with our marriage and what we wanted everyone to feel.
When you want an unforgettable event — and I mean unforgettable for all the RIGHT reasons — you want this band! Mark my words, and I promise this! I have THAT much confidence in Rudy and his devoted musicians.
I knew I was in good hands — marrying a great man that I can count on… and leaving everything about the music at our reception in the great hands of a band I knew I could count on! This is the life!!!

Rudy and the band performed for our 20^th anniversary party in our garden in Oakland in September. They were absolutely terrific. Rudy arrived early to set up, and the whole group was professional and kind. They went along with our «theme,» which was to have everyone wear white. Good sports
And what amazing performers! They kept the crowd dancing for hours. Great fun, great energy, serious talent.
I can’t say enough about them. The following day a few neighbors stopped by to say how much they’d enjoyed the music — they’d sat outside and listened from their back decks.

We had our wedding in June 2014 and hired Los Boleros to cover the music for the event. Rudy was a pleasure to work with, he was always very responsive and very attentive to our needs and concerns. He was calm, cool, and collected the day of the event, going out of his way to be helpful in any way possible. On our wedding day, he was there before everyone else to make sure that all equipment was set up and working properly. The music was fabulous and energized the ambiance more than we could have ever hoped for. Our guests continue to comment on how much fun they had at our wedding, and we largely attribute this to the wonderful energy of Los Boleros. Thank you!

Doesn’t get better than that. I have worked with these guys on many occasions. They are honest fun and have a great presence in any setting!

Los Boleros made all the difference at our recent «Havana Nights» –themed fundraiser for a San Francisco-​based elementary school. The band played two amazing sets, getting the energy level up in the room for dancing, gambling, and — most importantly — fundraising! Our planning committee heard only rave reviews about the music, and we ourselves found the band to be incredibly professional and accommodating. For example, we asked them to support our auctioneer with a bit of percussion background, and they helped us out right on the spot!

Los Boleros played for our annual Thanksgiving Party recently. It was a lively catered event at a local winery, with more than 100 folks flying in from all over. Put simply, Los Boleros made the gig shine. We also hired a couple of professional dancers to keep the crowd moving. The dancing to those irresistible Cuban sounds went late into the night.
Everyone loved the band, and we hope to hire them again.

We hired Los Boleros to play at our wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. Rudy (the band leader) was great to work with, being very responsive in planning and accommodating our needs — not only were they willing to make a several-​hour trek up to Sea Ranch where our wedding was being held, but they played a rousing rendition of Hava Nagilah and were even able to rewrite some of the lyrics of Dos Gardeñas to be about us!
We also hired Rebecca (of Salsa with Rebecca), who taught a salsa lesson to our guests so they knew the essential moves. Once the guests knew the moves, Los Boleros kept them dancing all night long playing tune after tune. We had a fantastic time, and got lots of compliments from our guests on the excellent choice of music :)

Most recently, we hired Los Boleros to perform for my Mothers 80^th birthday. Being of Puerto Rican decent from New York, my father wanted to have music they enjoyed while growing up in the barrio (Spanish Harlem) of New York, to dance and listen to for a party of 60 of her closest friends. We could not have asked for a better band. Their music was beautiful, with a wonderful tres player, a sax/​flutist, percussion drums, and a Cuban singer with the most melodic voice that took us back and placed us in the heyday of Havana! Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the music, whether Latino or not and danced the day away.
Not only were they a joy to listen and dance to, they were extremely professional in their arrival time, set-​up, break-​down and ability to work the crowd determining when to perform certain songs to adhere to the mood of the party.
I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a memorable party/​wedding, that all will be talking about for years to come.

I always say there is two must have things for a great party, Food & Music (& alcohol)! Thank you Boleros for being the highlight of our wedding! The music was beautiful. They kept our guest dancing throughout the night. Our Venue did not allow amplified music outside which is where we had the ceremony and dinner. Los Boleros was able to work around that, and played such a beautiful instrumental set. That was one of my favorite memories from our wedding.

Los Boleros MADE our party! We had a proper lechon (Cuban pig roast) and hired them to play for the evening and EVERYONE was dancing. that’s a feat considering 10% were born dancing (aka Cuban) and the rest had never danced a step. Thank you Los Boleros!

Los Boleros played at our annual gala fundraiser in October 2011 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. The music was wonderful, the band members engaging, and altogether a pleasure to work with. They were able to play a short acoustic set with just three musicians for the cocktail hour and then the whole 7 piece band played for dancing after dinner. With both male and female vocals they have a great repertoire and kept people dancing all evening!

Los Boleros is absolutely fabulous, professional and one of the best live bands I have ever seen.
Rudy and his band played this past weekend for my Oct. 1^st, 2011 wedding in Aptos, CA. It was an outdoor garden wedding with 175 guests. They played a dinner set and 2 dance sets.
During the dance sets the entire dance floor was packed, all my guests are parting, dancing and even my 2 year old nephew was memorized by the band, he would not leave the dance floor.
I am seeing facebook posting from my family and friends saying my band selection was the most amazing band they have even seen and my wedding was one of the best!
I danced my entire wedding, I did not want to leave the dance floor, me and my now Husband :) talked all night about Los Boleros and how they made our wedding day so special.

Awesome!!! Love them! Old Latin Traditional music is just the best! They played very beautiful music that gets you to the dance floor all night (or day) long. I recommend you try them out.

Really awesome and really professional!
We hired Los Boleros for my dad’s birthday. They played in our backyard by the pool. Even with the people splashing water (we tried to be careful), they were cool about it. The music is upbeat, they played all the popular latin songs (i’m no expert here), the vocal is absolutely fabulous and Rudy is easy to work with and quick to response to my emails.
The band sang 3 full sets and was enthusiastic to the last minute even when the party goers have dwindled.
A few things of highlights
1. even though our audience is relatively sedate (no dance floor), the band was enthusiasitc. I wanted some band who can be good even without audience feedback and they definetely were!
2. Rudy came early to make sure every thing is setup
3. Very on time
4. They sound as beautiful as they are on their sound bites online.

Really really really fun band! Saw them at Ashkenaz, with Tito y su Son de Cuba. What a combo that was…

Los Boleros is the best band ever. I heard great things about them, so hired them to play acoustic at my outdoor wedding party in Huddart Park. They had our guests dancing on the tables. Then, for work, I hired them to play at the Central Park Music Series. We were having a hard time finding a reasonable priced latin band with large crowd experience, and Los Boleros jumped in for a reasonable rate, and absolutely had all 1,500 people dancing in Central Park, San Mateo.
I would hire them in a second for any type of party and outdoor concert series.

I am so happy we hired Los Boleros for my May 2008 wedding! Rudy was quick to respond to my emails leading up to the wedding and was willing to accomodate to whatever I requested. They even played acoustically for my ceremony as a trio. Truly professional, we had to change the wedding schedule the day of and they had no problem being flexable. We actually had to cut out some dancing time and they were disappointed they did not get to play longer!
They have a sort of energy about them that keeps the party moving, but when no one was dancing when they first started to play, Rudy grabbed my mother-​in –law and started dancing with her! It was awesome and got everyone on the dance floor.
Having Los Boleros play at my wedding was an aspect I was really looking forward to, they did not disappoint!

Los Boleros just played at my wedding reception a few weeks ago, and they were one of the most memorable aspects of my wedding day. My wedding guests were comprised of people from all ages, cultures and tastes, and everyone enjoyed the band.
Los Boleros did a great job raising the energy of the reception and getting everyone to dance, playing recognizable favorites as well as great salsa, cha cha and son songs for those who know Cuban culture or do Latin dancing. For those who didn’t dance, I could see them standing, clapping and swaying to the music as if they were at a concert.
Their manager was also very easy to work with, and they handled everything they were supposed to logistically. I would highly recommend this band for your wedding or event.

I went to a wedding recently — the couple had met at salsa class. I looked forward to the wedding with «a live salsa band» and was not disappointed! The band was awesome onstage, playing softly during the reception while we ate, then playing expressively while we danced into the night. It was great fun and I highly recommend Los Boleros for weddings and other merry events.

I’ve worked with Los Boleros many times, and they truly epitomize musicianship, professionalism, and great personality! As a professional dancer and teacher at events we’ve shared, I’ve often asked them to set a certain tempo or isolate a particular rhythm for my students. They do it immediately and accurately. It makes the whole class such fun for everyone! They are the most responsible and accountable band I’ve ever worked with professionally; timeliness, presentation and polish are very obvious in everything they do.
Their musical style is extremely authentic, and really epitomizes the classic Cuban/​Puerto Rican aesthetic. They’re fantastic!
