Lite Bite

I love Lite Bite!
They have a ton of healthy food options for take out or dine in.
Dishes include lemon chicken breasts, sesame chicken breasts, salmon, teriyaki salmon, tofu salad, grilled greens, vegan veggie tikka masala, roasted yams, etc.
On top of their great selection of healthy food options, their staff is super friendly which makes a place like this so warm and welcoming.
I will definitely eat here when I’m shopping in the area and want to eat healthy :)

If you ever jumped on that Weight Watchers band wagon, they have the food here all labeled with points. It’s a weight watcher’s dream come true.
If you’re not into that, and more into clean healthy eating with appropriate proportions, this place is still somewhat of a dream come true.
As of lately, I’ve been popping in for lunch during the weekdays. If I want my food to go, I can grab it from their prepackaged section or get larger portions (for more than one person) packed up to go from the nice people behind the counter.
They have options for the vegan, vegetarian, flexatarian, pescedarian, or paleo bunch. There are several breakfast, lunch, dinner or smoothie options. It could take me years to fully explore their menu!
I love that there are always several veggie options and there is flavor to every single item. With glazes, spices, and fancy cooking styles.
Why four stars, not five? Only thing I’m not a fan of is the microwaves used to heat the food up. It works, it convenient. I get it. I could always change that, get every thing to go and heat it up with an oven or stove top… So that’s not that big of a deal!
So, far, I have not had anything that tastes bad here! It’s all been finger licking good from their fresh pressed juices to roasted sesame (Mary’s Organic Free Range) chicken breasts… And even their Brussels Sprouts!

I love this place. It takes guts to go all in on raw food and health food as a concept of it´s own so all credit to the owners. My go to things are the pea soup and salmon salad. (Also loved tomatoes and avocado mix but think it´s only seasonal) My only complaint is that too much have cilantro in it. So if you don´t like cilantro it´s hard to do the salads.
I will miss you Lite Bite!

Love the concept of quick healthy food. I had the salmon with cauliflower and my boyfriend had chicken. We liked both. Also really like the healthy smoothies, I got the energizer smoothie and it had a great flavor. I hope they add more healthy dessert.

Craving something healthy but too lazy to cook? Enter Lite Bite.
I’ve been here several times since moving to the neighborhood and have come to love it so much. Lite Bite is a super casual, relatively affordable grab-​n-​go (or sit down) restaurant where they label the nutritional information for every item. So if you’re on a special diet or counting macros, this is the place for you. It makes healthy eating super accessible and easy.
My favorite things to get:
— Tuscan kale salad with apple (massaged to perfection!)
— Ground turkey in bell pepper
— Whole wheat penne pasta
— Turkey meatloaf
— Mashed cauliflower (this is a game-​changer)
— Mint chip smoothie (it’s basically mint chip ice cream but made from healthy ingredients)
To top it all off, the employees are always very friendly and helpful. They will happily recommend items and heat up things upon request.
I wish I could eat like this everyday. Alas, I crave stuff that is bad for me way too often, but when I can exercise willpower, Lite Bite is there for me!

I’ve been coming here for a while now, and really like the place: a home away from home where the food is always ready. Here are two of my favorite meals:
On our cooler SF days I like the comfort of a warm plate with the Chicken Enchilada: a paper-​thin enchilada skin brimming with shredded Mary’s chicken, topped with a thin slice of cheese, perhaps Haverati, and Lite-Bite’s signature sauce. Alongside, I like to have the chick peas with cauliflower and the assorted roasted vegetables, cooked just right, but there are many other choices.
On hot Spring and Fall days, I crave a cold plate — I don’t have to decide, it just happens! — of their grilled salmon, which is a really good deal by the way. It is topped with their signature «pea purée». Alongside, the black bean salad which has corn kernels and finely chopped salad ingredients, and two of the grilled tomato halves with basil go really well.
A very good Fruit Salad has recently been offered as a dessert, and there are 2 or 3 honestly sweet desserts also if a treat is called for.
This is surely the new way of eating and it is great to have Lite Bite in the neighborhood. The people are very nice too.

I had lasagna, a salad and a carrot coco juice. Everything was excellent. I’m very picky with food and those Lasagna felt like home. (France)
I highly recommend this place.

The first time I walked by here I said «I’ll never eat here, I’m not paying $ 15 to eat rabbit food — I’m not a skinny self conscious girl.»
Then one day I decided to walk in and look around. As it turns out a lot of this is food that I can prepare at home; not gross or disgustingly small portions of buzz-​word health items. Real food! And sometimes I don’t have time to make real food. This place delivers on that need, and in an honest and straightforward way — calories and macros listed out and you can order most things by weight if you happen to be into portion control, etc.
Walking up and down Union street, there is a decent variety of food options but they are all heavy and most of them are pricier than what I’m used to. I call it the «Marina tax». This not bargain basement but it’s not over priced either… I will be back.

Wanna eat lite on a FRYday?
You can resist it. All those bad, deep fried foods in unhealthy saturated fat were designed to make you overeat anyway. Same goes for foods laden with heavy sauces (cream) or topped with artery clogging Bacon. (MMM, bacon tho!) Be kind to your body and do it right at Lite Bite.
Portions are just the right size, calories are listed upfront and prices are surprisingly affordable. I had a very good for you, rich in vitamins and heavy in fiber lunch here. A Tuscan kale salad with chopped apples, red onions and sweet yam. For an extra feeling of fullness, protein is essential so add a side like the ground turkey stuffed in red bell pepper. SO SO GOOD.
I feel great and don’t have that uncomfortable feeling that comes with overstuffing myself when I eat bad foods. If you think it’s hard to eat like this everyday (it is a challenge!) at least try it once a week, ideally on a FRYday. Mondays suck already as it is anyway.

Ordered for delivery through Grub hub. Order came 20mins after placing it. Ordered a juice and the spiced chicken with yams. Haven’t tried the juice yet, b it the chicken and yams have no flavor and the chicken is dry. I only give the 1 star because of the quick delivery, but I’m not going to try this again.

Lite Bite might just be the healthiest «grab-​and-​go» place in the entire city.
I work right across the street from these guys, so you can say it’s a semi-​regular spot for me. Every time I’ve been there, I always got nothing but good service from them, and I feel like they deserve the exposure. They definitely have a very respectable mission, as they provide nothing but low-​calorie, low-​sodium healthy meals.
Now, I wouldn’t exactly say I’m an advcate for healthy meals. I do try my best to be healthy (working out, cutting out sugar drinks, etc.) but usually you would not see me in a place like this for lunch. Ever since I got my current job next door, things changed for the better. I find that there are days that I don’t have time to have a proper lunch or bring my own, so Lite Bite has become my go-​to. Not only can you you have a filling meal, but they offer so many options (lasaunga, chicken, eggplant, broccoli, rice, salad, pasta) that all have been prepared organically. It’s basically like grabbing a fast food meal, except it’s incredibly good for you. I ordered the pesto pasta with grilled veggies (see the pictures) and it was very delcious. While I can’t exactly say it’s the best pasta I’ve ever had, what I can say is that you always know you’re getting top notch ingrediants here and supporting a local business.
Besides the wide array of healthy to-​go meals they have, service here is top notch. Every person working behind the counter has always been incredibly kind to me. They always make sure to be attentive and never are short of suggestions when you aren’t too sure what you want.
The big negative is the pricepoint. You can expect to spend about $ 15 bucks at least. While they do have options for less than that, like salads for $ 10 or ordering in smaller amounts, it’s no doubt a place where you pay premium for high quality ingrediants. I’ve said this in the past and I’ll say it again. If you want the best, you have to pay like it’s the best.
Final verdict: Lite Bite is a unique version of what you would typically think is a grocery store or a deli. It’s a place that acts like a fast food joint, yet the only thing that truly resembles a fast food joint is just how fast you get the food. It’s truly one of the best healthy options in the Marina if not the city.

Love this place. They serve healthy portioned meals & smoothies at a very reasonable price– especially in the Marina.
I’m partial to the Mint Chip smoothie: spinach, mint, banana, almond milk, spices & chocolate chips. Yum! Also, the Turkey Lasagna is delicious.
This place is definitely worth checking out for all you health nuts in SF.

We need more of this kind of place.

Huge variety — about 20 or so dishes — meats, veggies, pasta… price is determined by weight so you can get a scoop of this and that.
They have a juice/​smoothie bar too which I have not tried yet.

Minus one point because it is pricey.

I love Lite Bite. I love the concept. I love the food. I love the friendly staff. I love the location close to work.
Eating healthy can be somewhat of a challenge. I bring most of my healthy, flavorful lunches to work. On those days that I haven’t pre-​planned well, it can be hard to find somewhere close by that makes tasty, healthy dishes! This is where Lite Bite steps in. This place is a diet godsend if you’re watching your weight/​calories/​macros/​or want to maintain a healthy eating lifestyle. There is a quick grab-​and-​go cooler, or you can pick your own proteins/​veggies/​grains from their deli counter. They clearly display the ingredients, nutrition info, and WeightWatcher points if that’s your thing. You can stay and eat in the café, or take a box to-​go.
I can honestly say everything here is prepared well and is so flavorful. You don’t need fat/​salt/​sugar for flavor and Lite Bite proves this with their lightened-​up recipes. There is seriously something for everyone. My favorites are the turkey lasagna grab-​and-​go, or making my own box with a Mary’s spiced chicken breast, sauteed broccoli, and grilled polenta cakes (!!!). Their meals always leave me full and with a good conscience.

Healthy food that is surprisingly tasty. Lite Bite is a quick and easy option for take out. Imagine something like a Whole Food cooked food counter but reasonably priced and down to earth. Everything is pre-​made and they will warm it up for you shall you choose to dine in. Both vegan/​vegetarian and carnivores would find to their liking.

Beautiful, clean little deli style spot. I just had to find a bathroom quickly so I purchased an organic boiled egg.
Egg was scrumptious and bathroom was the CLEANEST bathroom I have found in San Francisco to DATE.
Definitely going back during a meal time to try out the other delicious looking food and of course use that bathroom again!

I will pay more $$$ for quality food!
You can taste the freshness and the yummy healthy goodness energizing your body.
So far from my one visit I have tried —
–Zucchini Ribbon: yummy thai inspired flavors. veggies were crunchy and refreshing!
–Cuban Chicken Salad: as indulgent as healthy gets! loved the eggs and peas. YUM!
–Roasted Carrots: great bite — not overly soft, but not too tough either
–Yams: delicious. I could eat a bucket.
(clearly I was a hungry hungry hippo when I made my stop)
Food is not sodium ladened and labelled with ingredients, protein, fat, calories, etc.
** got ½ pint and pints of the dishes — bill came out to $ 26 but lasted me lunch and dinner (which I shared with my bf — he approved as well !)

I work in the area and happened to forget my lunch so I decided to grab something quick to eat at Lite Bite. There was a selection of items in the display case ranging from chicken breasts, turkey meatballs, lasagnas to different salads and even cookies.
I loved that they have little cards that tell you how much calories go into a serving so you know exactly what you’re consuming. They also indicate on the card how much it costs per serving or per pound. It’s perfect if you’re watching your weight.
I ended up ordering a serving of the spinach lasagna and asked them to warm it up for me. This spinach lasagna is made with wheat pasta in a white sauce topped with cheese. It was the perfect amount and I loved that while it was satisfying, it wasn’t loaded with calories like you have gotten from other places.
I would definitely come back and order other dishes to try.
The food is not cheap, but it is good and it’s perfect for people who are watching their weight.
