These guys provided me with the worst retail customer service I’ve experienced in my life.
tl;dr — They use cheap lenses and coatings and provide NO warranty. The salespeople have zero customer service training, and don’t care about you.
I purchased 2 pairs of prescription glasses at the same time — one for indoor office use, and a pair of prescription RayBan sunglasses.
8 months later the indoor specs have clouded up on the inside. I took them in expecting to be treated with care, and to have at least something done to try and fix the issue. Instead they treated me with no respect, and even threw wild and wooly crap at me including «Perhaps you used a blowdrier to clean them…» — you’d laugh at that if you saw my short, shaved hair.
I spoke with three different staffmembers — all who had no intention of trying to help (they just wanted me to disappear).
Cannot warn enough against shopping here.

First off, I never write reviews. However, LensCrafters really messed up here.
They sent my order to the wrong address. Lied about the order being shipped correctly and that the tracking confirmed it went to my address. The tracking number wasn’t even working. They are complete liars and unprofessional. It’s a super inconvenience to get the contacts back. Basically lost my order. They were not helpful with a resolution. I will not be going back to get my contacts ordered from them again. Nor will I be going back to get my exams from them.
AWFUL! DO NOT GO HERE.

About 1 week ago I depend into this optics-​shop to order the new pair of glasses for myself.
Customer service representative who worked with me was very nice and professional.
His name was Tony. He did a great job, he explained me everything. He was was fast, efficient and skillful. He told me he has worked in this industry for 16 years!
I was impressed.
My order was accepted, and I supposed to get my glasses ready by the end of the day, the same day!
It was exciting.
…And by the end of the day I got my glasses indeed. When trying on the glasses I was checking how well I see using them, but…
My expensive glasses-​frame was damaged during inserting new glasses in. Nobody even mention about it to me. And the price of the work without frame price was more than $ 500!!!
Really??? I noticed the damage when I came back home…
I did not have strength go back and complain. But I am very disappointed about that technical service.
Please be aware! Please check your frame too when getting the glasses…

During the exam they asked if I wanted to do a retinal scan instead of regular eye drops, but they never mentioned that this was $ 40 extra on top of the $ 10 co-​pay. Feels like they are purposefully trying to trick people into doing more expensive stuff.

rude representative and disrespectful. I called and after 10 min waiting they hang up the phone on me. They didn’t call me back and when I did 2 min later on, they ignore me and didn’t apologize. guys take your business somewhere else don’t go to them

Disappointed with this location. I had an appointment at 5pm and wasn’t seen until 5:45pm to do testing. Didn’t get to see the doctor until 6pm. I felt like the doctor tried to rush me out from my appointment and didn’t give me as much details to my prescription or any other suggestions of other brands I should try and just said «I like this one for you» what do you mean you like this one for me? Smh. I should of went to my original location. Atleast they have time to sit down and speak to you and give you better customer service. Everyone here felt like they just want to rush you out and make their goal of sales.

Justin, Gerald and David rock! Came in with a pair of glasses that needed repair and they went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy! Got my last glasses from here and plan to get my next glasses from here too!
Gerald has good taste too so ask him for his opinion about how the glasses look on you before you buy them.
Patience and great customer service go a long way!

fixed both of my glasses for free! good service

I went in a few weeks ago because I was having trouble with my glasses that I had done in the Emeryville location. Justin, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I explained the situation and told him I had not had them made in this location and he smiled and said, «no problem»! I was out the door in 20 minutes with my glasses correctly fixed at no charge to me. These guys rock!

I was very disappointed with the customer service at this LensCrafters. I arrived 5 minutes prior to my appointment. There were no other customers in the front of the shop; however, I stood by the check in counter for over 10 minutes before I was greeted. I was taken to the back for my eye exam. The technician asked me if I wanted a specific service, but when asked, was not able to describe the service (e.g., what it was) or the benefits of that service to me. Before I even completed my eye exam, I received an email from LensCrafters for an appointment that was one year out — without any consultation with me as to whether the appointment was convenient for me. Once I finished the eye exam and picked out my new glasses, I sat down with the sales person to finalize my purchase and pay. He was pleasant, but because their computer system kept shutting down, a 10 – 15 minute process took over an hour and a half. I was told that one of my two pairs of glasses would be ready in an hour. They weren’t. It took 3 days, and the only reason why I knew they were ready was because I received an email from LensCrafters and did not receive the phone call they said they would give me. I have received 2 emails saying the second pair of glasses is ready, however, when I call in, I’m told that they are not ready and that there is a computer glitch. Each time I have called as a result of receiving an email from LensCrafters, I am put on hold for an extremely long period of time (over 10 minutes one time, 6+ minutes the second time) with no apology for the wait. I’m now being told that my second pair of glasses will take 2 weeks to arrive, rather than the 2 – 3 days I was originally quoted.

Well, bought glasses for a lot of $$$$ just to find out the lens falling out a minute after I put them on. Seriously? For the money paid, you guys can put more efforts into the better work. They are remaking glasses now. No apologies were received.

My reading glasses got smashed on the plane flight to SF and needed serious adjustment to fit and stay on my face. I dropped into this LensCrafters location and voila, my glasses fit perfectly again — even better than before they were smashed. The gentleman who helped me was super friendly and fixed my glasses within minutes. Best of all, there was no charge. If you’re in SF Union Square/​Market St. area and need glasses repair — check this place out

Everyone was so nice and professional. They seemed to really care about providing a great customer experience. I was really impressed. I will definitely be back for my annual exam!

The staff is really nice, and the service is high quality. I had received a free case for my glasses, and my friend got his glasses fixed, as they were badly bent, for free.
A great place to go shopping for high quality product in my opinion!

Staff members are friendly and helpful. I came in twice looking for the right shape of eye glasses and both times the staff looked for frames for me. It was a lot less stressful than trying on trying on multiple pairs of glasses on my own. One of staff selected a pair of frames that I wouldn’t have found on my own and I love my glasses!
I also came in to refill my prescriptions for the first time after moving into the city. The employee was so quick to call my out-​of-​state LensCrafters to fax them my prescriptions. I was in and out of the store with no hassle.
It’s been a stress free and painless experience getting what I need every time I come in!

This place is always busy! They had better selection before and now they only have a limited selection. The staff is very helpful when they aren’t as busy. The only thing I don’t like is that their glasses aren’t as clean as I would like. What I do like about this place is that they can order styles that they don’t have in store.

I’m currently in town visiting. Because i’m an utter boob, I didn’t realize that one of my back up packs of contacts lenses was empty when I popped it into my luggage. So imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to an exceptionally angry & red left eye because my contact had a tiny tiny rip in it and had been scratching my eye all yesterday, only to find I had ZERO back up…
Now usually, this wouldn’t be a huge deal. Pop online, order something overnight and boom — except for the fact that not only do I have hard to find toric lenses, but i’m as blind as a bat without contacts and my attempts to spend the day with just one contact in were turning out poorly.
So dutifully, I was at LensCrafters when it opened. They weren’t sure if they could help me out the first time around, so I trekked to five different shops in my quest to grab a contact before returning here and throwing myself at the mercy of the folks working one last time. One lady became my knightess in shining armor when she offered to grab the name of my optometrist back home and give them a ring. A few short minutes later, with my prescription confirmed, I walked out with a eye saving trial lens in hand.
So I don’t know how they are on an every day basis, but for one frantic tourist: today they were superheroes.

I’m giving them four stars b/​c they helped expedite my order so that I was able to wear it for the weekend. A little frustrated that they would not be straight with me on how thick the lenses would be for both their house lenses and the thinner ones. It turned out that the thinner lenses are still kind of thick and cannot rival the thin lenses that you can find overseas in Asia, particularly the ones from Japan.

Daniel de Lage was great! As with Justin, he was very helpful and patient. He wanted me to come back within 6 months to get my glasses readjusted (all for free), even though my glasses aren’t from Lenscrafters.
He didn’t have me take my contacts off, but seemed to have a better sense of how to see if the glasses really were fitting properly when I couldn’t really immediately tell. He would have me turn my head to the left and right to see how the frames were sitting on my ear and do tests like looking down and shaking my head.
Also, Daniel was sitting right at the first little cove and greeted me immediately when I entered and asked what I needed. This part was much better than my last visit (not to blame Justin at all, who was working in the back of the store).

Je suis allé chez Lenscrafters pour avoir un devis pour une paire de lunettes de soleil de vue Oakley. Le vendeur (opticien?) à qui j’ai parlé était très sympa et né m’a pas du tout forcé à la vente, ce qui est très agréable. Malheureusement ils n’acceptent pas mon assurance (VSP) et le tarif ($ 330) est très élevé comparé à ce que j’ai pu trouver chez un autre opticien qui accepte VSP.
Au final je n’ai rien acheté chez Lenscrafters mais ai passé un bon moment avec un vendeur honnête.

RAY BAN GLASSES
I’ve been wearing eyeglasses since the 4^th grade. From my youth through my college years all my glasses were from Kaiser. With the restricted number of selections the frames weren’t appealing.
I’ve been going to this LensCrafters location for about the last ten years. Each new pair of eyeglasses has been upgraded — first Brooks Brothers then Persol. I might have found the ultimate pair of eyeglasses. Last year I got a dark blue Ray Ban prescription eyeglasses. It was by far the best pair of eyeglasses I’ve ever owned. People have complimented on them. The best feature of these eyeglasses is that when light shines on them the blue color is reflected on the lenses. This year I was fortunate that my prescription didn’t change. In order to complete the Ray Ban set I decided to get Ray Ban prescription sunglasses.
The prices at LensCrafters can be expensive. Here’s a tip — put money in a health spending account provided through your company. The money you put in this benefit is pretax. If you put enough money in that account then you afford to purchase a pair of eye glasses or contact lens or even both. I purchased both eyeglasses and contact lens through my health spending account. Remember the biggest benefit of the health spending account is that it’s pretax.
Overall if you want different styles of eyeglasses to choose from I recommend LensCrafters. As George Zimmer from Men’s Wearhouse would say «I guarantee it.»
